UOU offers BA, BBA, BSc, BCom, BCA, etc., at the UG level and MA, MSc, MA, MCA and MCom at the PG level. Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) is the only Open University established in the state of Uttarakhand with an objective to impart distance learning education at the UG and PG levels. The university offers over 85 programmes at UG, PG and Doctorate levels. UOU admission is merit-based.

For PG level courses, such as M.A., MSc, MBA, candidates must have passed graduation with minimum 50% aggreagte. Selection for majority of the programme, is based on merit in the last qualifying examination. However, MBA admission is entrance-based (MAT/CAT/university level exam). 

UG courses, including Bcom and BSc requires Class 12 from a recognised board. Final admission is merit-based at Uttarakhand Open University (UOU), Haldwani.

UOU admission process is both entrance-based and merit-based. Some of the programmes, such as M.A., MSc and BSc admission is merit-based. However, B.Ed and MBA admission is based on a valid score in entrance examination. Interested candidates can fill out the application form in both online and offline modes.

Uttarakhand Open University (also known as UOU Haldwani) was established in 2005. UOU courses are recognised by Distance Education Council (DEC) and UGC. UOU Haldwani consists of a total of 14 schools in different streams of education. UOU offers its programmes through 240+ Study Centres established at different locations in the state under eight Regional Centres at Dehradun, Roorkee, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Dwarahat, Bageshwar, Haldwani and Pithoragarh.

UOU, Uttarakhand provides multiple courses in Open & Distance Learning Mode. These courses allows people to access education widely and remotely. ODL courses can be pursued in either online or offline mode. Candidates can choose an institute that provides their desired course in their preferred mode. The university has not released the official placement report for the year 2023. However, as per placement report 2021, a total of 38 Diploma in Hotel Administration students were placed during UOU placement 2021. Students were placed in top companies such as Grand Hyatt Kochi, The Leela Group of Hotels and among others during placement 2021.

UOU admissions 2023 are over for the January session. The last date to apply for the course was Aug 31, 2023. For now, the admission process has completed and the application window has been closed by the university.

Candidates can apply for the next upcoming cycle. The application process for Uttarakhand Open University is completely online. The application process runs in two cycles throughout the year, i.e., Summer and Winter. The application process for UOU admissions 2024 has started. Candidates can apply before Feb 29, 2024.

Uttarakhand Open University offers PG courses such as M.Com MBA, MCA MTTM and MSW. All of these courses are offered with the course duration of two years. Uttarakhand Open University also offers lateral entry admission in the second year of MCA and M.Sc. IT programmes.

Yes, anyone can pursue B.Ed course at Uttarakhand University in distance learning. Candidates who are willing to get admission to this course must fulfil the minimum educational requirements of the course. The minimum eligibility is to pass a UG or PG degree with minimum 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories) or UG degree in Engineering with minimum 55% aggregate from a recognised university. 

After that, it's mandatory for candidates to qualify for UOU B.Ed entrance exam and apply on the official website of (uou.ac.in).
