B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2028

Good engineering college for people who wish to learn practical application along with theory.
Placements: About 80 percent of the students get placed. The highest package is about 50 LPA, depending on the company and job position. Top roles offered are VLSI designers and embedded systems analysts. Many companies, such as Google and Microsoft, offer high-paying jobs in campus interviews.
Infrastructure: The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is good, along with various options to choose from. The medical facilities, sports, and game facilities are also well maintained and accessible to students. The facilities are well built, such as high-tech labs, smart classrooms, and libraries.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful when it comes to clearing doubts about the topics taught. They are enthusiastic in sharing additional knowledge related to the subject to throw light on daily life applications. This is helpful as students can understand and relate to the content rather than just mugging the concepts.
Other: Both technical and non-technical fests take place, one in each semester, for students to learn new things and showcase their talents.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

An insight from the inside of VIT.
Placements: I am studying B.Tech Computer Science (first year). Our batch has nearly 4,500 students in computer science alone. My passing out year is 2028. In my college, almost 90% of the students were placed this year. The highest offer was 1 crore per annum, while the average is 10 LPA. The lowest offer was 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Most of the third-year and some of the second-year students try for internships, and the college provides good opportunities to both groups, not only for internships, but also for placements in their upcoming session. The top roles offered are software development engineer, data analyst, and data scientist.
Infrastructure: The labs are up to industry standards, and the Wi-Fi facilities inside the labs are top-notch. Some labs have old computers, while others have computers with up to 32 GB of RAM. Classrooms are well-equipped with smart boards. The library has the best environment for studying and focusing on daily goals. The hostel facilities are good. Each hostel block has two caterers, and students can choose their caterer each month. Both provide good food with enough nutrients. There are many food stalls here, each providing quality, tasty food. There is a medical center where students can go if they are suffering from any illness, and they will be treated, admitted, or quarantined based on their needs. Our college has two football fields, three volleyball fields, two tennis courts, and one cricket ground for sports. Students can also play chess, carrom, and other indoor games in their free time.
Faculty: Each faculty member here has a doctorate from a reputable university. They teach in a very friendly manner. There are some faculty who don't teach well, but they provide us with sufficient knowledge. The course curriculum for the first year is not up to industry standards, as students are required to study physics and chemistry, but it gets better from the second year, where core subjects are included. The curriculum from the second year on is industry-relevant and on par with industry needs. The exams are easy to moderately difficult, and students need 50% to pass.
Other: Computer science is a blooming field, and choosing this course has never given me any regrets. I have exposure to various domains, such as web development, Android development, full-stack development, and ethical hacking. This course could be further improved by taking students on more industrial visits and having them discover industry needs in their domain. Our college has two main fests, called TechnoVIT, which happens in September, and Vibrance, which happens in March. The exposure on campus is good, and we can connect with people of various cultures. There is a large crowd at VIT. We can take part in any club we like, grow our connections, and indulge in our interests. There are almost 133 clubs at VIT, each with its own unique demeanor. Students can enroll in these and make the most of their time.

A journey of ups and downs of the college life of a student.
Placements: More than 80% students get placed in our department. The highest package offered was 1 Crore for an international company and 59 Lacs was the domestic package. More than 500+ companies visit our college with top companies being Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra, etc. I don't remember the exact percentage of students who got internships, but companies do come to recruit the students based on the skillsets.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are Wi-Fi-enabled and there are less number of modules in our courses. Also the lab is very useful as it helps to get practical exposure which is required for a particular company. Hostel is good and we are having separate beds and fans for each individual. But we all know the quality of food in the mess is not good. Overall, the sports and medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and they help us in every situation. They make us understand through practical applications so that we can do things in a better way. The course curriculum is relevant to the demands in the companies. There are a lot of exams in our college but the level of exams is on the easy side.
Other: There is a cultural fest called Vibrance which is held in the month of March and a technical fest called TechnoVIT which is held in the month of October every year. Overall, the campus is not that crowded when compared to the Vellore campus.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028

Read this before getting into VIT.
Placements: Placements are one of the main reasons that people opt for VIT college. The highest salary package offered is 1.02 CPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. They promise students good placements with good packages. Some of the top recruiters of the college include Microsoft, Zoho, Google, TCS, Infosys, etc. Volvo and Tata are top core recruiters for mechanical engineering. Almost 90% of students got placements last year.
Infrastructure: The academic blocks are great. Our classrooms are average with just a table and a projector. There is nothing else to make it more interactive. Our labs are great with all those facilities and supercomputers. It becomes easier to work there and interesting to learn in labs. The library functions till 12 AM. It has 7 floors and is filled with books. All necessary books can be found there. I am disappointed with the hostel. For the fee we pay, they give us a bed, a table, and a cupboard. The fee is around Rs. 1,24,000 for 6 sharing air conditioning rooms. The cot is not separate. It is a bunk bed.
Faculty: Our faculty members are doctorates and Ph.D. holders. They are toppers of their batches and passed out from renowned colleges across the world. They are helpful and guide students in all situations where they need assistance. The course curriculum is very relevant because it offers 1,000 courses among which we are allowed to choose the course that we'd like to pursue. The curriculum allows us to explore new fields and improve our skills. Semester exams are set in a moderate way and sometimes hard also. It doesn't matter because if it's hard for everyone, the relative grading part will save you.
Other: The course is value for the money considering placements, classrooms, and lab facilities we are provided with. The campus is overcrowded. You can feel it when you wait hours for lifts in the academic blocks. Every hostel block has a 17-floor building and getting in the lift is the hectic part of it. Also when you visit restaurants on campus during noon, it's overcrowded.

Review of VIT - A paradise.
Placements: Placements offered here are very good. There are about 700 super dream offers and 1000 dream offers given to students. The highest salary package offered is 1 crore per annum and the average salary package offered is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google and Amazon.
Infrastructure: Facilities present in the college are very good. Wi-Fi available is strong. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. Labs are equipped with advanced computers. Hostel is also good with all amenities present. Food is good and rooms are also good.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly skilled and have PhD. They are of good quality. Course curriculum is relevant only after the second year. In the first year, they make one study the basics of all other courses. There are exams every month, which are very hard. Pass percentage is 80%-90%.
