B.Tech. in Electronics and Computer Engineering - Batch of 2028

Good placements, infrastructure, and facilities, but some teachers could do a bit better in 2025.
Placements: Placements for my course are quite as it is possible to choose either electronics or computer science as a career path. This flexibility is quite sought after as it is not found in other courses. Companies such as Bosch, Honeywell, Amazon, HP, Qualcomm and other companies are some of the top recruiters for Electronics and Computer Engineering graduates. The maximum package offered is 33LPA, the average is 9.5LPA, and the minimum is 4.5LPA. Around 87% of students got internships as per the information given by seniors from the previous batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course, Electronics and Computer Engineering, is state-of-the-art, with multiple labs for each subject, each having top-notch and well-maintained equipment. Computer labs have the latest generation processors, which are more than capable. Hostel facilities are amazing, providing housing for thousands of students. Medical facilities are responsive, with an ambulance on standby 24/7 (personal experience). The library contains all the books necessary to pass your exams with flying colors and also has computers available for use by students at all times. There is also a digital library for electronic copies of textbooks.
Faculty: Most teachers are very knowledgeable and are more than capable. However, public opinion is that a few teachers, however knowledgeable they might be, lack a bit in getting that information efficiently to the students. Examinations conducted contain only analytical questions, which require a modest amount of brainpower to solve correctly.

The faculty are really good. There are very good placements.
Placements: Last year the placements were 100%. The highest offered was 1.5 crore, and the lowest was 3 lakhs. The top recruiting companies are Google, Flipkart, Amazon, and many more. The percent of students who got internships from my course is 100%, and many companies offer internships based on VLSI.
Infrastructure: There is a lot of infrastructure available on the campus, such as a library, canteens, basketball court, tennis court, gym, swimming pool, etc. The hostel contains a gym, tennis court, and shops. The quality of food in the mess is good, and there are various types of mess: veg, non-veg, and special mess.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They are very qualified and knowledgeable. The minimum qualification for professors is a post-graduation along with a Ph.D. The curriculum is relevant. It makes the students ready. The semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is nearly 90%.
Other: I chose the course only due to my sole interest and passion on the electrical side. The best things about the course are the knowledge and hands-on experience I get.

My college overall Review.
Placements: The average salary package is around 8.5 LPA. Almost all companies visit. If students are good at studies and can apply their knowledge in real life, then there is a high chance of your placement. Top companies like Infosys, TCS, etc., visit the college for placements.
Infrastructure: There are three hostels on campus and three major academic buildings. The mess food is decent. There are various labs, including Fluid Mechanics, MATLAB, BEEE Lab, English Lab, Chemistry Lab, and many more. Projectors are available in each class. Wi-Fi is available in the hostels and labs.
Faculty: There are three major exams in a semester. CAT 1 and CAT 2 are similar to mid-term exams, and FAT is the end-semester exam. Many assignments and quizzes are conducted. FAT is conducted for 100 marks, and CAT 1 and CAT 2 are conducted for 50 marks each. The passing percentage is 50%.

B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2026
3.6

Good social community but highly crowded nature.
Placements: Almost 100% of the students who opted for sitting in the placements got placed in a company. The highest package of 1 Cr per annum was offered to a CSE student and 3 LPA is the lowest package, while the average package offered is around 8 LPA. The top recruiters for electrical students are TCS, INFOSYS, and Honeywell. 60 percent of the students do their internship, which is unpaid and offered by VIT. 35 percent do internships privately, and only 5 percent receive internships with a stipend from the companies. The roles differ by the vacancies in companies.
Infrastructure: All the labs are equipped with high-speed internet facilities, and there are a lot of lab components for important core subjects. Classrooms consist of 4 boards, two blackboards, and two for marker usage. There is one projector per classroom with dual speakers installed around the corners. Facilities inside the hostel include two cupboards, one bunker bed space, and a chair. The quality of food goes up with the pay scale, and for the lowest mess option available, the quality is decent. Apollo Hospital has a space on the campus providing basic treatment.
Faculty: 90 percent of the teachers are knowledgeable, but the remaining 10 percent are not up to the mark. The course curriculum is highly relevant. The lab components for the core subjects really do make the students industry-ready. The semester exam questions are medium, but the correction is highly strict, which makes the pass percentage around 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because of the lab components provided here to learn a subject practically. If the courses offered had faculty members of the same major, it would be much better. There are two events: one is a technical one that comes up during the month of August and the other is an annual fest that comes up in March. The campus is really crowded as it has attracted a lot of people. Scholarships are given as waivers to the VITEEE toppers by the institute. Extracurricular activities include badminton and basketball as the main sports.

Pros are good research and placements, cons crowded.
Placements: As placements of all the branches of my college (i.e., Vellore, Chennai, Amravati, Bhopal) are combined, it is mostly based on CGPA and branches. More than 7,500 students have already been placed (including me). The highest package is 88 LPA, and the average package for tech companies is around 11 LPA. For core companies (mechanical, civil, electrical), it was 7 LPA. Apart from placements, over 300+ students have already received PPO offers from on-campus internships. All big MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, and over 1,000+ companies visit our college, so it’s better than average.
Infrastructure: As a private college, the infrastructure of our academic buildings, libraries, and hostels is very good. There are 3 playgrounds (1 handball, 1 turf, 1 open ground), 1 outdoor basketball court, 1 indoor basketball court, and 2 volleyball courts. All facilities are inside the college, and many shops are there, such as Domino's, food courts (Gazebo, North Square), a general store, 2 ATMs, and one Indian Bank. In the hostel, there are 3-4 vending machines per hostel. The Wi-Fi speed is approximately 10 Mbps, which is quite good for YouTube and surfing. There is one dedicated building for the library with 4 floors.
Faculty: Our college provides a fully flexible credit system, which means you can choose courses as per your interest. There are a few compulsory courses as well. Most teachers are doing research, so you can work with them and get research papers published. They teach everything as per the Engineering syllabus along with industry needs (DSA, Web Dev, Data Analytics). If you have an interest in any topic, you can take it in your timetable. There is 60% weightage for internal marks and 40% for the final exam. The internal exams consist of 2 exams (50 marks each) and 3 digital assignments or quizzes (10 marks each).
Other: I chose this college because it encourages students for research and development. There are always events and hackathons going on, both government-funded and private. Our college has an investor team called V-nest that helps with startups represented by students. One problem in our college is there are many students, so it is always crowded. Still, they manage to get maximum students placed, but you'll always be surrounded by students. The fests are amazing: there are 2 fests – Vibrance (cultural fest), with many big celebrities, and Techno Vit, the technical fest.

Top-notch Placements and Infrastructure, Highly Recommended
Placements: Top recruiting companies such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Siemens, L&T, and Qualcomm were among the top recruiters for the EEE course. Roles commonly offered include Electrical Design Engineer, System Analyst, Software Developer, and Embedded Systems Engineer.
Infrastructure: The EEE department is well-equipped with modern labs, Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and a comprehensive library. Labs include the Power Electronics Lab, Embedded Systems Lab, and Electrical Machines Lab, providing hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
Faculty: The curriculum is regularly updated to meet industry standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for the professional world. Semester exams are moderately challenging, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The pass percentage is high, reflecting the effective teaching methods and support from the faculty.
Other: The quality of education, infrastructure, and placement opportunities make the EEE course at VIT Chennai a good value for money.
