It is all false advertising.
Placements: 70% of the students from my course were placed, but most of the highest packages were from offline interviews. The highest package was 16 LPA, and the lowest was not disclosed. They have not disclosed the exact figure, as this was the first batch to have completed this course. The top recruiters are Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hyundai, and Siemens. There is a criteria for a mandatory internship in our 3rd year at college. The roles offered vary from Robotics to Software Engineer to Mechanical Head to Mechanical Design Engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities and the infrastructure are outdated, and the new ones are yet to be completed. Many of the classrooms where we'll attend classes have no air conditioning, which in the Chennai weather is not bearable. The library is good, but it isn't sufficient for the number of students on this campus. The hostel Wi-Fi isn't good either; the maximum Wi-Fi speed I got was 5 Mbps, and they turn off the Wi-Fi at 12 AM even during exam hours.
Faculty: The teachers are useless but knowledgeable. Their quality of teaching is 3rd class at best. The curriculum is industry-ready, but the way they teach it is not. The difficulty of the semester paper depends on the mood of the teacher and the class average. If the class average is high, the chances of getting a tough paper are high.
Other: The campus fests are half-baked and not well organized. The communication is bad, and the way they talk to us is really rude. The staff has no courtesy. The only thing good here is the crowd.

It is best to join college.
Placements: B.Tech. , MBA, and M.Tech. students are getting placed here. The highest package is more than 50 lakhs, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average is 7 LPA. TCS, Amazon, Deloitte, Infosys, etc., are many companies visiting campuses. 90% of the students are getting placed. Software roles are most offered.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available on campus are very good, like free Wi-Fi, lab facilities, big classrooms, and library access. The quality of the facilities in your hostel is very good. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are all there.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is very relevant. Students may not be ready for the industry. Semester exams are difficult to score good marks in the college. The pass percentage is around 40.

A journey of ups and downs of the college life of a student.
Placements: More than 80% students get placed in our department. The highest package offered was 1 Crore for an international company and 59 Lacs was the domestic package. More than 500+ companies visit our college with top companies being Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra, etc. I don't remember the exact percentage of students who got internships, but companies do come to recruit the students based on the skillsets.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are Wi-Fi-enabled and there are less number of modules in our courses. Also the lab is very useful as it helps to get practical exposure which is required for a particular company. Hostel is good and we are having separate beds and fans for each individual. But we all know the quality of food in the mess is not good. Overall, the sports and medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and they help us in every situation. They make us understand through practical applications so that we can do things in a better way. The course curriculum is relevant to the demands in the companies. There are a lot of exams in our college but the level of exams is on the easy side.
Other: There is a cultural fest called Vibrance which is held in the month of March and a technical fest called TechnoVIT which is held in the month of October every year. Overall, the campus is not that crowded when compared to the Vellore campus.

Come only if you get 1st or 2nd category or go to normal colleges with learning good skills.
Placements: Around 75 percent placement. The highest was maybe 56 LPA and the lowest 6 LPA. Google TCS and so on. There are many students who got internships around 56%. The only reason I chose this college was placements; the rest is mid.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure and ac rooms, but hostel fees are high and there are no personal bathrooms. In the 1st year, it is very hectic and uncomfortable with roommates, but from the 2nd year, we can choose our own roommates. The library is very good. Food is good, but again, it is expensive. The rest all are good.
Faculty: Faculty isn't good. No, it doesn't do it in the 1st year. Exams are of 2 levels: easy and difficult. CAT 1 would be easy, but CAT 2 would be somewhat difficult. Semester exams are similar to CAT 1. Lab exams are also similar to other colleges. We may get course-related curriculum from next year.
Other: Campus is overcrowded, and a hostel with 6 beds is not recommended, but it is the only option that is affordable for common people as ac is compulsory in this Chennai weather. I chose this course as it has a better future. I hope there would be fewer students in one class.

WHY VIT CHENNAI WHILE COMPARING FOR PLACEMENTS?!?!
Placements: For our senior batch that is the 2025 batch , most of them got placements till now and most of the core companies came by now. Though there's a population of companies who prefer to take girls over boys, but still if you have a good cv other than academics, it will do the work.
Infrastructure: Not all the classes have AC as they are in old buildings, but the new classes have ac which are being built since the 2022 batch came into the college, and there's a regular expansion process going on for the students’ facilities... the Wi-Fi speed is not that great, and they only provide Wi-Fi from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Faculty: The teachers here are really helpful, though most of them are Tamil teachers. They are good and humble to help you out. Just make sure not to mess things with them. The course is relevant, and the curriculum is updated every semester. And even mechanical people are taught about AI and stuff, but at a basic level.
Other: Techfests are really great... and cultural fests are of 4 to 5 days and are more fun than techfests.

Top-notch Placements and Infrastructure, Highly Recommended
Placements: Top recruiting companies such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Siemens, L&T, and Qualcomm were among the top recruiters for the EEE course. Roles commonly offered include Electrical Design Engineer, System Analyst, Software Developer, and Embedded Systems Engineer.
Infrastructure: The EEE department is well-equipped with modern labs, Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and a comprehensive library. Labs include the Power Electronics Lab, Embedded Systems Lab, and Electrical Machines Lab, providing hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.
Faculty: The curriculum is regularly updated to meet industry standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for the professional world. Semester exams are moderately challenging, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The pass percentage is high, reflecting the effective teaching methods and support from the faculty.
Other: The quality of education, infrastructure, and placement opportunities make the EEE course at VIT Chennai a good value for money.
