Good college, good administration, and good faculty.

Placements: The placements were good with 100% placements for all the students. The highest package was about Rs. 12 LPA and the lowest was Rs. 3.25 LPA. For EEE, Ceat and Caterpillar were the companies and Wipro, Accenture, and CTS were the mass recruiters. We had to find the internships on our own, and they were usually without stipend.

VIT University and whether it is a real place to grow and learn, fulfill the expectations or not

Placements: Placements in VIT Chennai is categorized into 3 categories that are super-dream, dream and normal. These three differ in terms of placements where super-dream companies start their offer starting from 12 lacs, dream companies, on the other hand, offer a package in the range of 6 to 12 lacs and finally, the normal offers where the companies offer a package between 3 to 6 lacs. About 80 % students got placed this year. Companies like Google, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Cognizant visit...

A good college for students who really want to study and have good placements

Placements: We have an overall good placement record in VIT. Last year, from our senior batch, about 90% students were placed and most of them were from CSE, IT or ECE branches. These 3 branches were almost 100% placed. The highest package was around 23 lacs per annum and the lowest was around 2 lacs per annum. On an average, packages were around 5-5.5 lacs per annum. A lot of companies, mostly IT based, visited last year. Mass recruiters like Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Cisco to big companies that come for spec...

Holistically satisfactory. That being said, there are still some areas which need some attention.

Placements: Compared to my native place, placements for core companies are fair. For CS, there are at least 150 companies and a lot of opportunities. For my branch i.e. mechanical, about 10-15 core companies and another 10 for finance and management visited for placements. Overall, the placement is better than most of the college but not as compared to IITs.

One of the most memorable years of my life.

Placements: The main reason why I joined VIT is the placements. Everybody who passed every subject will get a placement with a package (CTC) from 3.2 lakhs to 12 lakhs based on the luck and GPA. You may get placed in one of the companies that are good for a recently passed out engineering student.

Good placements every year.

Placements: Placement here is very good. For 2017 batch, the placement rate is approximately 60 to 70 and the previous batch's rate is more than this year's for M. Tech. From our department, 2 people got placed. The highest salary was above 10 lakhs and the lowest salary was 3 lakhs. Most of the students did an internship.

Satisfied with the quality of education provided.

Placements: The campus recruitment is high for the students of computer field like big data and cloud. As I did my M.Tech in embedded systems, there were placements but were not much good compared to the computer branch. Lots of companies like Intel, Volvo, Bosch, Netapp, Nokia and much more did come to offer internships. The stipend offered for my branch students was Rs. 25,000 per month. The average package offered in the final placements was 6 LPA. But for big data and cloud branch students, it was 20 LP...

Really good infrastructure and faculty. Average placements. Good atmosphere. Really good crowd.

Placements: VIT guarantees to offer 100% placements but only about 15%-20% of the students get dream offers. Rest all are placed in IT companies. The average package of electrical is around 4-5 lakhs p.a. The highest salary offered to the batch that graduated this year in EEE was 9 lakhs. The lowest one was around 3 lakhs. Companies like Schneider or General Electric visited the campus but they only took a handful of students. Most of the students were placed in IT companies like Cognizant, Infosys, etc. ...

VIT is a place to learn and a chance to grow.

Placements: The placements in Vellore Campus are centralised and has 100% placement record. There is no discrimination between main and sister campus. Majority of the students were placed in TCS, Cognizant, Wipro etc. Students were also placed in core companies like Schindler, L&T etc. Dream companies like Microsoft, IBM, Cisco, Flipkart, Amazon took students from campus interviews.

Good knowledge but placements are a problem.

Placements: Placements here are a tough task. Don't expect more than 4.5L if you're a fresher. And also if you have experience, there will not be much of a difference. The placements for analytics or operations is nearly nil. Be open for marketing jobs if you don't get in the area you wish for. The percentage of placements here is like 75-80%. Mostly marketing companies visit followed by finance. The role will most preferably be of a management trainee. Highest package has been around 5.5 LPA and the lowest...

Great college with good facilities to develop your strengths with their guidance and your hard work.

Placements: Placements are good but not for structural engineering. For other courses, they are really good. L&T is one of the big companies which are always there for structural engineering. Few multinational companies also come. The placement panel is good and helpful. It takes care of the students.

Think placements, think VIT.

Placements: Placements from VIT-Chennai are excellent. I don't remember any of my senior who did not get placed. Almost 95% of the students gets placed from VIT University. Average salary of 2015 year placement is around 4.60 LPA. If we consider civil branch, around 5-8 companies visited the campus including L and T and Godrej properties. Students gets placed in nice post and may get around 9 LPA. Maximum students do internships with the permission of the college.

Good college and faculty but the college is living on VIT's Vellore name

Placements: An average student will get placed in an IT firm for sure. Core placements might be hard though. All students get placed. Expect an average of 4 lakhs. I got placed in Cognizant but I am trying to get placed in a core company. Students have to go to Vellore every time for a placement activity which is quite annoying.

Satisfied with everything the college is providing.

Placements: The placements so far are good. Mostly everybody gets placed. The placements are combined, means the students of Chennai campus are taken to Vellore campus for placements. Moreover, companies come to Chennai campus also. Mostly, all the good companies visit for placements. So, according to me, Chennai campus has some advantages.

You can chose your subject teacher and your class timings. Whereas this college does not suit for students who are average in studies and book worms. Punctuality is very important. College infrastructure is descent and very good experienced teachers are there. Students time table of each they have to plan on the previous day. This environment will mould the students in all aspects. But this college is best for students who are staying in hostel and day scholars suffer a lot.

In my view VIT (Chennai) is an average college. The College fests are fun and the placement is really good. Teaching faculty is average and there is always some bias based on the language you speak. Communication gap is a very general problem which students encounter. High focus is on academics. Lesser focus on co-curricular activities. The campus is still in its infant stage and hence it will take time for it to come at par with the much famed Vellore campus. But one thing is for sure, everyon...

Placements are the best with lots of work, but worth it. I have learnt a lot doing projects. Course selection is also available. Teachers aren't the best, but they're better than most places. Facilities are okay. Decent sports. Amazing place to study. Diverse culture with people from everywhere and across the country.

Academics: Very good academics wise. Overall curriculum is very good and VIT allows to choose your own subjects, teachers and time as well. But a lot of internal exams and quizzes with project-based learning. Campus: Chennai Campus is not as big as Vellore campus but it has all the necessary things like ATM, V-Mart etc. Library: Library is excellent here with enough number of books and whole library is managed through an online management system. I have mixed reviews for this college. As per the placements, it’s a good college, even its good for girls safety as well. But here pressure is very high which is very tough to handle. I will recommend this college. The reputation of college is also good. But the problem is these people are not allowing us to go out on Saturday & Sunday, which is not good.

VIT University is one of best colleges in India. In VIT, the best thing is the good faculty, classrooms and lab facilities. Here you can enjoy extracurricular activity along with studies. Hostel and mess facilities are good. Here placements are good for IT and CS branches but not for core branches .The campus of VIT is green and has a good infrastructure. But the fees is a little high as compared to other colleges.
