Placements: 1. Since the world economy is down, automobile industry is heavily affected by this slowdown. The mechanical stream students are heavily suffering due to this slowdown. 10% of the total batch strength gets selected in core companies. There is a separate placement chamber to train all the students and help to get placed in good companies. During my time Vellore and Chennai were placed together, hence getting placed in mechanical with decent package was a big deal but the CS and IT placements were pretty good.
