SET cutoff 2024 is released by the participating SET institutes after the announcement of the SET exam result. SET result 2024 was announced on May 22, 2024. The SET exam 2024 was conducted on May 5, 2024, for test 1, and on May 11, 2024, for Test 2. Although the SET exam was conducted on two days, the SET exam participating institutes only release one consolidated SET exam cutoff list for each institute. SET cut off 2024 is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs are available on the official website of each Symbiosis college. After the announcement of SET results and cut-off for the SET exam 2024, a list of shortlisted candidates is also released for the final rounds of selection. The SET counselling schedule was released by the individual SET colleges. Read below to know more about the SET exam cutoff.

Q:   When will SET cut-offs be announced?

A:

SET cut-offs will be announced after the declaration of the result. The SET scores are accepted by the ten prestigious colleges of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and each individual institute releases their own cutoff after the results are announced. SET results are usually announced in the last week of May, for the both the sessions and other courses. Students can check the same on the official websites of the institutes. The students who match the cutoff criteria will be called for further selection process which includes Group Discussions and Personal Interview . Some institutes also conduct Written Ability Test as a part of the selection process.

Q:   What is a good score for SET BBA?

A:

In 2024, SET was conducted in two phase, i.e. Test 01 and Test 02. According to the SET analysis and student's relations, the difficult level of the exam is easy to moderate in both the sessions. A good score in SET BBA exam can be subjective but if we look at the analysis, then the following can be termed as a good score in SET:

A:

SET cutoff is released by the participating institutes after the announcement of the SET result. The ten prestigious Symbiosis Institutes accept SET scores. SET scores are accepted for various undergraduate programmes offered by these institutes. The SET cut-off is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs will be available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the SET exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute.

According to the previous cutoff trends, the SET cutoff generally range from 85-89 for the General category. Last year, the highest SET cutoff was 89 for the General category. Shortlisted candidates who match the cutoff will be called for further selection procedure, which includes, Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q:   Does Symbiosis International (Deemed University) conduct counselling for BBA admissions through SET?

A:

No, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) does not hold a centralized counseling process for BBA Admissions through SET. The role of Symbiosis University is to only conduct the SET exam and prepare the results. The role in BBA process is only sharing the result/scorecard of candidates with the BBA participating institutes that they have selected in the SET application form. The participating institutes prepare their own merit list and select candidates for admission basis the result shared by Symbiosis University. The minimum eligibility criteria for shortlisting is passing marks in SET. However, the selection is based on cut-offs fixed by the institutes. The institutes accepting SET scores inform students about their shortlist status via e-mail when the admission windows open. Candidates who are expecting a call from the institutes they had selected in the SET application form must keep a check on their email (spam section too) for the interview invitation.

About SET Cut off 2024

Read below to know more about SET 2024 cutoff:

  1. The candidates will have to apply for admission according to the cut-offs as released by Symbiosis Institutes for their courses.

  2. Candidates will have to appear in Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) as per the schedule released by the participating institutes of SET exam. In 2021, however, WAT was conducted alongside the SET exam due to the COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

  3. Only candidates meeting the cut-off marks of the above-mentioned institutes will be called for PI round.

  4. The application process and GD/PI schedule of these institutes may be different from each other, therefore, the candidates are advised to check the official websites of Symbiosis University and the respective institutes.

  5. The final selection will be based on scaled marks of SET exam, WAT and PI as under

SET cut offs are not unannounced along with the SET result. Individual participating institutes released their own cutoff and they are known after a few days of result announcement when the colleges start their shortlisting process. The SET scores of the candidates shortlisted for Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interview PI can be considered the SET cut off for the participating institute. SET cutoff is a major criteria for students to get admissions to their desired colleges. According to the previous years, the SET cutoff in the top institutes generally range from 45 to 89. The SET cutoff varies from one institute to another. The expected SET cutoff for the General category students is 89 and that for those belonging to SC and ST categories is 50 and 48 respectively. These cutoffs may vary after the final SET cutoffs are unannounced by the individual institutes.

Q:   For how long is the SET score valid?

A:

SET score is valid for admission for the same academic year in which the candidate has taken the exam. For example, SET 2024 score will be valid for admission for 2024-2027 BBA batch only. If a candidate wishes to drop a year after taking the SET exam, then they will have to appear for the exam once again next year. They should however check the eligibility or selection criteria to have a clarity of SET score of which session/phase is valid for admission in which academic year. Candidates taking the SET exam, the test takers must not try to use their score for admission more than one year after appearing for it. They should appear for it again and use the latest score for admission.

A:
After the declaration of SET result, each participating institute will release a cutoff list to shortlist the candidates. The participating institutes will then call the candidates for the admission process which includes further rounds. If candidates want to apply at colleges other than those selected during the SET application process, then they will have to fill the application form for those other colleges individually. The admission process includes, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates can start preparing for the GD/PI round before or after the SET result announcement. They can join online platforms or coaching institutes for soft skills and personality development. Those who feel dissatisfied with their SET score can opt for re-examination in the next session and improve their score. SET score remains valid for one year for BBA admission.
