Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is B.Sc. at AJC Bose College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the key points:

* Placement Rates: Placements are limited, with around 20-30% of students getting placed. Salaries range from INR2 Lacs to INR10 Lacs per annum, with the top recruiter being TCS. (Quoted by multiple students)
* Internship Opportunities: Only around 5-10% of students secure internships, while others might consider external job opportunities. (Quoted by multiple students)
* Infrastructure: The college has decent classrooms with projectors and whiteboards, a clean and air-conditioned lab, and an average library. Free Wi-Fi is available. (Quoted by several students)
* Teaching Quality: Most teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced. Course material is relevant, and semester exams are relatively manageable. (Quoted by multiple students)
* Campus Life: While there aren't many extracurricular activities, annual sports events are organized, and the campus is close to public transport hubs. (Quoted by some students)

Considering these factors, whether or not B.Sc. at AJC Bose College is worth the investment ultimately depends on individual goals and expectations. For those interested in pursuing higher education or seeking internships, the college may not offer adequate opportunities. However, for those willing to accept limited placement rates, the college provides decent infrastructure and teaching quality. Ultimately, it's crucial to weigh these factors carefully before making a decision.

Note: The answer is based on student reviews and testimonials from the given text. It aims to provide an informed perspective without promoting the college excessively.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.A. courses at AJC Bose College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Courses at AJC Bose College

Unfortunately, the placement cell at AJC Bose College does not exist, according to student reviews. This means that students pursuing B.A. courses do not have access to career guidance, internship opportunities, or job placements facilitated by the college.

Here's what students have shared:

* "Students from Science background may get some internships." (This suggests that only students in certain fields might receive some work experience opportunities.)
* "Our senior batch also didn't get any placement opportunities from college." (This indicates that previous batches did not benefit from college-assisted placements.)

In summary, the absence of a placement cell hinders the college's ability to provide its B.A. students with essential career development resources, making it challenging for them to secure employment or further education opportunities.

I am satisfied with the faculty members. It provides good placements every year.

It is a good college, and you can opt for it. You can have a great academic year.
Placements: In our department, there are no placement offers, and companies didn't come for jobs. So, none of the students from our department got jobs from our college campus. There are also no internships. We didn't have any interviews or jobs.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are pretty good, and labs are also good. Wi-Fi is available. The library is very good with many books, and students can also take books for one or two weeks. The canteen is average, but there has been no hostel facility until now. Students can attend cricket and football matches which are organised by CU by selection.
Faculty: Our teachers are very good, and their knowledge and their process of teaching are very good. In the lockdown period, they took regular online classes. They gave their own notes to help us. Our college used to take exams in regular mode. They took class tests and internal exams regularly.
Other: Campus programs should be increased. There are no such programs that happened in few years very well.

Our college is better than many others, and it provides good guidance.
Placements: There are not many companies coming to our college. I don't know anyone who got placed in my department. I don't think that any other college in our university offers many placements. The placements are very few, that too not for my department.
Infrastructure: The college does not offer any hostel. There is a library but not with a huge collection of books. Whatever the library has is sufficient for us, I think. The majority of the books are related to the courses. Our college is Wi-Fi enabled, and it is limited to 34 MB a day. Classrooms are very good, and the lift facilities are available. Labs are also quite good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, and that's the best part of the college, I think. I don't know any principal who is as helpful as ours. The professors always try their best to educate us. Teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. I think it has the potential to make the students industry-ready.
Other: Basically, I love mathematics so much, that's why I chose this course, and also, I scored 90+ in the subject. There's always room for improvement. The saddest thing is, there is no fest organised in our college, unlike others.
