Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

B.E./B.Tech at Atharva College of Engineering: Is it a Good Choice?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Infrastructure and Facilities: The college has a good infrastructure, with well-maintained classrooms, labs, and libraries. However, some students feel that the campus is limited, and there's no hostel facility within the college premises.

Placement Record: Around 60-80% of students get placed, with top recruiters like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TCS, and Infosys visiting the campus. The average salary package is around INR4-5 LPA, while the highest package reaches up to INR33 LPA.

Teaching Quality: Faculty members are well-qualified and helpful, with many having Ph.D.s or Master's degrees. However, some students feel that the curriculum is outdated and requires updates.

Student Life: The college has a lively campus culture, with regular events and festivals like Rhythms and Ember. Students appreciate the access to recreational facilities like a swimming pool, gym, and canteen.

Course Curriculum: While the course curriculum covers the basics of IT and CSE, some students feel that it lacks hands-on experience and requires improvement.

However, potential students should research thoroughly and weigh the pros and cons before making an informed decision.

Review of Atharva College of Engineering, The Atharva Educational Trust.
Placements: The minimum salary package offered ranges between 5 LPA to 6 LPA. The maximum salary package offered varies between 30 LPA - 33 LPA. Placements were very good. Training was also provided for interviews.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were not provided in this college.
Faculty: Teachers were highly qualified. They changed teachers after every 6 months. The course curriculum was relevant. They mainly focused on students' attendance. If they did not teach properly, students could complain about it.
Other: Our campus life was good. But this college was far from the station. You could take the bus from the station. Air-conditioned bus fare was Rs 6 from the station to the college and the non-air-conditioned bus fare was Rs 5. Sports events were conducted in this college.

A college with many advantages and (a few) disadvantages.
Placements: The Training and Placement officers (TPOs) take an active role to bring in various companies with good packages that can help in the career development of the students. The TPOs along with the department level Training and Placement coordinators schedule various informative sessions for the preparation of the aptitude tests, English language, technical interview round and the HR interview round. Top Recruiting company for Electrical: Burns & McDonnell's .
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have a hostel and doesn't have much PG/hostel facilities around it. The infrastructure of the college is better compared to other colleges. The library includes a variety of reference books and textbooks of various authors which are relevant to the curriculum. The college is maintained well with beautiful plants and there's cleaning from time to time. The classrooms have vibrant color with a smart board and projector. Wi-fi connectivity is also provided in times of need.
Faculty: The teachers of electrical department do deserve a 4 star. They are very motivating and helpful. They look after each student and help them as per their need. The teachers don't pressurize the students much and are understanding and always look forward to the well-being of the students. The course curriculum is provided by Mumbai University. The curriculum, in my opinion should be more practical than theoretical and should include the latest technologies and advancements. More electives should be offered which are in sync with the market demands and advancements. The semester exams are of moderate level and the passing marks are 32/80.
Other: The college provides benefits regarding fee payment to Category students (OBC/ EBC/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ SBC/ VJNT/ TFWS/ Jammu & Kashmir QUOTA). The college committee manages the two annual fests of the college: (1) IEEE Techithon (Annual Technical fest) and (2) Rhythm-Ember (Annual Cultural fest). The college is 500m away from the Link road and there is bus and auto connectivity to the nearest railway station (Malad station). There's heavy traffic on the road that connects Charkop and Malvani to the Link road. This college has a hospital nearby but there are no food joints or eateries.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: I am from the electrical branch, and the placement record of my branch was decent. The number of companies that were related to my branch was very low. Mostly, IT companies came to the campus, and they selected students from IT as well as from other branches too. But IT and CSE were given first preference.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Atharva Campus is aesthetic. The campus has all the facilities with a swimming pool and gym inside it. The canteen area is clean, and meals served too are delicious and good. You can get all types of meals in the canteen. The library and labs are good.
Faculty: The faculty members in the electrical branch are well qualified and helpful. I am a bit skeptical about the curriculum because the subjects and topics keep changing, but one thing is that the curriculum gives you basic information about industry technology. Industrial technologies keep changing. If given 100% effort, exams can be easily cleared.
Other: There are many events and fests held in the college.

It totally depends on your choice in the course and decision for this college.
Placements: Almost 70-80% of the students got placed. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 5-6 LPA, depending on resume and results. Rarely any core subject companies visit here. Due to the lockdown, placements are not much, but digital marketing is a good platform for PCB designing. Top roles offered to the students are control systems, electronics gadgets implementation, power system grid maintenance, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is good, but classrooms are not that good. The library is strict and maintained since no phones are allowed. The canteen is directly connected to the hotel management college, so the food is good. Nearby medical and stationery are available, and they provide sports like baseball, cricket, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, generous, highly cultured and qualified. They use better methods of teaching, which is understandable. The course keeps fluctuating since a new curriculum and portion, but electric vehicles are modern, which is very important for students. It can be understanding if we show interest from our side. Each course and department have specific faculty members and HODs.
Other: I have chosen this course for my interest in electronics background. Specifically, I like to deal with PCB gates, circuit systems, sensors, etc. Students couldn't attend the fest, but it was well-orientated and should have been the best organised. Competitions are held like debates, exhibitions, technical, etc.

The college provides good placements and good infrastructure.
Placements: Placements in our college are above average. Almost 70-80% of students get placed. A mix of core electrical and IT companies visit our campus for placements. Companies visit the campus for placements of all courses. However, the salary packages offered are average. Many students opt for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. All facilities are available. The library is pretty good, and all the prescribed books are available. The college provides an IT lab, electrical lab with machines and equipment are adequately available. Classrooms are airy. The campus is a bit small.
Faculty: The college conducts industrial visits regularly for students. Teachers in our college are helpful. However, teaching could have been a bit better. Teachers are adequate in number. Few teachers are good, and few are average. Faculty mentors final year projects of students and industry guidance are also provided.
