Is it Worth Pursuing B.E./B.Tech at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT)?

Here's what students and alumni have to say:

# Pros:

* Excellent placement records: Over 95% of students get placed every year, with an average salary package of INR10.5 LPA and a the highest package of INR42 LPA.
* Strong industry connections: Well-known companies like Microsoft, Facebook, and WorkIndia recruit students regularly.
* Autonomous curriculum: The college is autonomous, allowing for flexibility in designing the curriculum to meet industry requirements.
* Good infrastructure: Air-conditioned classrooms, well-maintained laboratories, and a good library are among the college's strengths.
* Vibrant campus life: With events like Oculus, the annual technical and cultural festival, there's something for everyone.

# Cons:

* No hostel facility: Students have to rely on paying guest accommodations or manage with family/friends in the nearby area.

Placements-wise, a good choice, but difficult to score in semester exams.
Placements: On-campus placement percentage is 100% here. For on-campus placements, the highest package was 61 LPA, the average is 16 LPA, and the lowest is around 5 LPA. Microsoft, Oracle, Barclays, JP Morgan. Only 10-12% get the summer internship (companies: Barclays and General Mills). Software Developer, Associate App Developer roles.
Infrastructure: Our course offers air-conditioned labs and classrooms, Wi-Fi-enabled, a well-stocked library, and collaborative space for projects. Hostel facilities are well-maintained, with mess (food) and a hygienic canteen, medical assistance, and diverse sports amenities for overall growth.
Faculty: Teachers are pretty much qualified, usually either from IITs or have done some Ph.D. Some of them are quite helpful, while some of them are not. About the course, it is relevant, but the subjects are quite outdated as stated by NBA, who came to our institute recently. Semester exams are pretty much difficult to score in compared to other engineering colleges.
Other: I chose this course for the brand reputation and the career opportunities it offers. While the course structure is strong, I wish for more focus on real-world applications and emerging technologies, and they should update the subjects.

Our campus life is great.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in this course. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Phone Pe, Deloitte, JP Morgan, etc. The highest salary package offered was 110 LPA. The average salary package offered was around 15.01 LPA. The minimum salary package offered was 12 LPA. Around 10% of students got internships in various companies. Others can also do research internships in various fields from IIT Bombay.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Our college has 8-storeyed buildings. All facilities are good. Classrooms are air-conditioned. Projectors are available in our classrooms. Laboratories are also well maintained. The food served in the mess is decent. Canteen is available. Many students finish their lunch and tiffin having fun.
Faculty: All teachers are experienced. They are Ph.D. scholars. The teaching quality is great for us to understand every topic easily. They always clarify our doubts. The course curriculum is relevant. It contains subjects like PSOOP. They also provide in-depth knowledge regarding 3D printing, graphics, etc.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it. Our college provides good placements. I wish there should be more laboratory and practical sessions for coding language to help students clear the basics. There are 21 clubs in this college. Events and fests are conducted on our campus. Our campus is very beautiful. It is situated near the lake. Various scholarships are offered by SPIT to study abroad. They also conduct seminars to help students with their financial condition.

I am kind of satisfied with the college.
Placements: As far as placements are concerned, sources say that it is 100% in our branch. Mostly the highest package can go up to 36 LPA, and the average package is 8 to 10 LPA. It increases every year. Some companies that visit our college are Morgan Stanley etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good, and the management is okay. The teachers are good, and you will understand the content provided if you pay attention in the class. Wi-Fi is also fine. The classrooms are good and spacious. The library is also nice. The college does not have its own hostel. So, the students live in PGs.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and well-qualified. They are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. You will understand the content provided if you pay attention to the class. The course curriculum is not much relevant in the 1st semester. Programming, calculus and communication are the relevant subjects.

Amazing opportunity for placements.
Placements: About 95% if the students get placed. The highest package was approximately 35 LPA offered by Microsoft and Work India, and the lowest was approximately 4-5 LPA offered by a few companies. There's a Training and Placement Office in my college which helps the students with placements and internships.
Infrastructure: Since the college comes in top 5 engineering colleges, so definitely it's infrastructure is quite good. The college Wi-Fi is very powerful and which is openly available for all the students. As much as I've heard, the hostel facility is quite good with utmost security.
Faculty: The professors in my college are overall average. We have a wide variety of curriculum and the practicals give us a nice experience with technologies. It's quite strict though. Teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. They are very approachable as well.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: Till now from our batch 4 students got placed in companies like JPMC, Credit Suisse and Microsoft. Hi-tech profile roles are offered to the students. Our internships, as well as placements season, is yet to begin. It will start in 6 months, i.e., by the end of May 2019. From the previous batch, about 90% of students got placed in top companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our department are Wi-Fi, laboratories, classrooms and other great infrastructures. Quality of food served in mess and canteen is good. There is a sports ground to indulge oneself. Medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are extremely helpful. They are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was up to the mark. The course curriculum is quite relevant. Students can think as if they are getting hands-on training, along with learning. The course curriculum makes the students industry-ready. Faculty members in our department are supportive.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like mathematics, and this course involves mathematics to a very great extent. The best thing about the course is one can get its own solution. Current development in technology should be improved in our course. There is a great fest organised at our college every year. Small events are also conducted all-round the year. Extracurricular activities are conducted for students to relieve their stress levels. Campus surroundings are awesome.

For CSE, your rank should be under 5000 and for electronics rank should be under 12000. Marks depend on paper difficulty.

Frankly, according to my knowledge and me being a student of this college, based on last year's cut-off, it's quite difficult to get computer engineering here. But maybe in institution round or in minority quota, he may get admission. Wishing all the best.
