Q:   Does College of Engineering Guindy accept JEE score?

A:
Yes, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai accepts JEE Main scores for admission to its B.Tech programs

However, some colleges conduct their own entrance exams instead of relying on JEE scores.

For Tamil Nadu students, admissions are based on normalised aggregate marks in Class XII PCM through TNEA counselling. For other state students, admissions are based on Anna University counselling.

Other engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu that accept JEE Main scores include:

  • National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy
  • Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai
  • Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University), Thanjavur

Absolutely, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai recognizes the importance of JEE Main scores for admission into its B.Tech programs. However, it's noteworthy that certain institutions may opt for their own entrance exams as an alternative to JEE scores.

For aspiring engineers from Tamil Nadu, the admission process is distinct. It hinges on the normalized aggregate marks in Class XII Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, assessed through the TNEA counseling. On the flip side, students from other states find their gateway through Anna University counseling.

Diversifying the options, other reputable engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu also open their doors to JEE Main achievers. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Trichy, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in Chennai, and the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University) in Thanjavur are among the esteemed institutions welcoming candidates based on their JEE Main scores.

This dynamic approach to admissions ensures that aspiring engineers have multiple avenues to pursue their academic and professional dreams, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment in the realm of engineering education.

I am satisfied with the Wi-Fi network, Hostel facility, and good fee structure.
Placements: About 80% of the students got mostly placed in 80 companies. Journalist was the top role offered in our course. There are many courses like videography, photography, etc. Most of the students join in videography and photography audio design, journalist, and video editor.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi speed is the best so that students can acquire enough networks for studying purposes. It is very helpful for the students in the hostel mostly. Hostel facility is the best. They take good care of food and students in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, qualified, and experienced. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. It is good enough to pass the semester exams. The pass percentage is 50%. So students can pass easily.
Other: Scholarships for this course are enough. There are many events and extra-curricular activities held in our college. I opted for this course to work in media.

It is one of the good colleges in Tamil Nadu for media studies.
Placements: Our college has 92% of placements for every year. We have 12 LPA salary packages at present. I'm presently studying in the 7th semester. I heard from seniors that the placements are the best because we are placed in well-reputed companies.
Infrastructure: It has a very good infrastructure with standard classrooms, a laboratory, and a library which consists of a huge number of books. The campus is very clean and provides a very good environment. There is a digital library called Ramanujam Computing Centre which is more useful to students.
Faculty: The quality of teaching is quite different because the course is more about technical aspects.
Other: I choose this course because of my interest and passion for media. Technical equipment in our department are slightly outdated which should be improved for the next batch/ There are many events and festivals held on campus like Kurushetra, Agni, Gateway, etc.

Amazing and marvellous college and satisfied with this college for the past three years.
Placements: The placements are there for the non-arrear students, and many of our seniors have got placed in MNCs and many media companies. Some of them are working in cine industry, editors, photographers, and so on. This platform gives us a safe and secure zone.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good, and most of the people ask us, is this a college or a forest? Likewise, the college has full of trees and animals, which creates a pleasant place for studying, and the red building which is our pride gives us a very chill place for studying, and we utilise it very much.
Faculty: The faculty members won't be like faculty members, and they treat us like a friend. You'll get a good friend zoned faculty here in our college. The course and the syllabus are very easy, and they are made in such a way that every part of it would help us in future.
Other: There are events like techno fest, Kurukshetra, and Agni which very big events in the south Indian college festivals.

Really good infrastructure.
Placements: Placements in our course were fare. Only students who have an interest in design and coding were getting placed. Students who have CGPA of a minimum of 7 got placed. The basic salary offered was Rs. 10,000 per month. Normal designing companies like Yali Studios, Ogilvy and others visited the campus for recruitment.
Infrastructure: In our campus, Wi-Fi was available for 24x7. They give connection only for laptops and not for mobiles. Our department had a library which had books related to our course only. Good classroom and lab facilities were provided. Sports and games were organised to make students relax. The hostel was also good.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful in getting basic information about the things that we are learning. Their teaching quality was good as they used modern methods to teach us like online teaching asynchronous learning. They prefer only practical work to gain more knowledge about it.
