Campus placements are not offered in our department as the college is new, However, we hope that the number of placements will increase as the college gets some reputation.

An Honest and Gentle Review of CGEC.
Placements: Students are eligible for campus placement from the very beginning of the third year. Many MNCs do visit, like Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte, Accenture, L&T, etc. The highest package was 18 LPA, and the average package is around 7 LPA. Mostly 60 to 70% of students get placed by the end of their term. My personal plan after getting my degree is to complete my Master's further.
Infrastructure: In every depth, the course curriculum is followed as per government boards like UGC. The curriculum does cover the market requirements, thus preparing the students for market-ready companies. As well, the curriculum follows an advanced way of following the course, which makes it easier and understandable for the students of various depths.
Faculty: Faculty members are great in the aspect of their behaviour and communications. In JISu, the faculty members and students both share a friendly environment that faculty members do share and make concepts easier for the students to understand whatever topics are there in their course. Moreover, they guide the students for making different life-changing projects.
Other: In every depth, the course curriculum is followed as per government boards like UGC. The curriculum does cover the market requirements, thus preparing the students for market-ready companies. As well, the curriculum follows an advanced way of following the course, which makes it easier and understandable for the students of various depths.

Newly established Cooch Bear Government Engineering college.
Placements: Overall placement at CGEC is good. Many reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, and Byju's recruited many senior students at my college. In some years, 80% of students got placed in high-demand branches like ECE and CSE, where students got the highest placement.
Infrastructure: Our college's 20-acre campus has state-of-the-art labs, experienced faculty members, and extensive computer facilities. In our college, we have a free Wi-Fi facility. The CGEC library has various kinds of books, but they are not up-to-date. We have one girls' hostel and two boys' hostels for 4th and 3rd-year students. Two hostel buildings are still under construction. Hostel food is not as good as home food, obviously, but it is fine. Overall, the infrastructure is good, and the hostel is average.
Faculty: We have great teaching faculty. The professors are also great, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum can't make you industry-ready; you should prepare yourself by gaining knowledge. The semester exams are not hard if you study hard. You need to score 40% marks to pass the exam.
Other: I chose this course because I heard the ECE branch is good in this college. With my 19000 rank in WBJEE, I was admitted to this best-value college. But I think 1st-year and 2nd-year hostels should be prepared as soon as possible. The tech fest ESPERANZA takes place in the month of April. There are so many official college clubs like Teach-o-nicks, Creative Pens, Dance Club, CGEC Melodies, CGEC Times, etc. We can get scholarships like SVMCM.

CGEC review by 2024 batch (CSE).
Placements: The college is very poor if you consider on-campus placement. In 2024, not a single company visited our campus. But many students get placed off-campus. The highest package in our batch was 9 LPA, and the average was 3-4 LPA. 10-15 students got off-campus placement out of 62 students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was not so good because it's a new college. An efficient amount of classrooms are there. There is only one library, but there are no relevant books in that. The canteen is present on campus but has been close since 2-3 years.
Faculty: Faculty is average. The course curriculum is outdated and needs improvement according to recent technology. There are 4 CA exams in which you can score easily and a final semester exam. You can easily get good marks in these semester exams if you study well for 7 days before the exam.

Solid education with good placements, but the curriculum needs more industry focus.
Placements: Around 60-70% of students in CSE at Cooch Behar Government Engineering College are placed. The highest package is ₹10 LPA, the lowest is ₹3 LPA, and the average is ₹4-5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, and Infosys. About 30-40% secure internships, mainly in IT firms. Top roles include Software Developer and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: Cooch Behar Government Engineering College offers decent Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and spacious classrooms. The library has a good collection. Hostels are clean with basic amenities. Mess food is hygienic but simple. Medical facilities are basic, and sports options are available.
Faculty: Teachers at Cooch Behar Government Engineering College are generally helpful and qualified, providing good teaching quality. The curriculum is relevant but could use more industry integration. Exams are moderately difficult, with a pass percentage of about 80-90% if students study consistently.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion for technology. The best aspects include a solid curriculum and supportive faculty. Improvements are needed in industry exposure and project work. CGEC has vibrant events, a friendly campus crowd, good scholarship options, and active extracurriculars.

Faculty: Teachers are always ready to help students in all possible ways. They are all very highly, knowledgeable, qualified and experienced teachers. Teaching quality is also very straight forward. Course curriculum are less industry oriented, so less relevant. It doesn't make students proporly industry ready. Semester exams are easy to pass. About 80% of the students pass the semester with no backlog, more than 99% of the students gets passed with or without backlog.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion in computers and software. Best thing about my course is the vast job opportunity in the IT industry.
