This is my honest review of my college, Coochbehar Government Engineering College.
Placements: The placement rate of our college is a maximum of 80 to 90%. While the majority of students secure jobs, the quality of placement can vary significantly across branches. The college attracts plenty of companies for recruitment annually, including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Wipro, etc. The average package offered is around 6 to 7 LPA, while the highest package has gone up to 15 LPA. Most offers are in the range of 3 to 5 LPA. 90% of students got internships from our college, and the companies are Amazon, Google, Wipro, PayPal, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including well-maintained laboratories, a first-rate library, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The classrooms are modern and spacious. The hostel serves regular meals, including lunch and dinner, while the food is hygienic. Students feel the need for more variety.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally approachable and supportive, offering guidance for projects, internships, and career advice. The engineering curriculum is designed to provide a theoretical foundation and practical skills. Course subjects are completed with electives, which make the students industry-ready. While the exam schedule is well-structured, the pressure can be intense due to overlapping dates for projects, assignments, and tests.
Other: I chose the Electronics and Communication department because it is a very interesting department due to my love for integrated theoretical concepts and practical applications in areas like telecommunications, embedded systems, and robotics. Graduates can pursue careers in sectors like telecommunications, semiconductor industries, automation, or higher studies in specialized fields like VLSI or IoT.

The college is not very bad but it will be very good if some needs are met.
Placements: Placement here is very bad, placement is very less, few people got placement. Their average package is 4 LPA. No internship is given by the college, everyone does an internship on their own. Everyone from our department works in IT, many with off-campus jobs.
Infrastructure: In this college, we have very few faculty in the electronics and communication department, but there are many lab materials and there is an AC system in the labs. The classroom is clean enough and the class has a fan and light. Hostel is for the fourth year only.
Faculty: Our faculty in this department is very less, and the academic faculty in the college is less, the faculty is very lazy. The teachers of our department are very helpful and prepare well for the semester. They are very serious about class. Some classes are conducted by guest faculty members for less faculty members.
Other: I got admission in this course because I had a distinct interest in the engineering department. Besides, through this department, electrical and computer Science courses are also available.

Second best college in North Bengal, minimum feels maximum facilities etc.
Placements: Placement in ECE department of our college is not very good, we can say fairly good. 22% students from our department got placement from our department. The highest CTC 21 LPA, the lowest CTC 3.36 LPA and Average CTC is 5.23 LPA. Most placements are in IT companies. You can get internship opportunity through linkedin. Our top Recruiting companies are TCS, adani, cognizant, LT, Codeyoung etc. Students got government. Training/internship opportunities in IIT Ropar, NIT Sikkim, WBSEDCL, Tata steel, ITCem, worley etc.
Infrastructure: Our college 20 acres campus has state-of-the-art labs, experienced faculty members and extensive computer facilities. In our college we have free Wi-Fi facility. CGEC Library verious kinds of books but not upto date. We have one Girls Hostel and 2 Boys Hostel for 4th and 3rd year students. Two hostel building are still in process. Hostel food are not good as home obviously but is fine for eating. Over all Infrastructure is good and Hostel is average.
Faculty: We have great Teaching faculty like Dr. Palash Das Ph.D. IIT Kharagpur), Dr Goal Ghosh, Dr Samik Nag and our respected principal Dr Palab Deb. Other professors are also great, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Course curriculum can't make you industry ready, you should prepare yourself from knowledge. The semester exams are not hard if you study hard. You need to score 40% marks to pass the exam.
Other: I chose this course because I heard ECE branch is good in this college. As my 19000 rank in WBJEE I admitted in best value college. But I think 1st year and 2nd year hostels should be prepared as soon as possible. Teach FEAT ESPERANZA is track place in the month of April. There so many official college clubs like Teach-o-nicks, Creative pens, Dance club, CGEC melodies, CGEC Times etc. We can get scholarship like SVMCM.

My college is the best!
Placements: In my course, 100% of students are placed. The highest package is 11 LPA and 3 LPA is the lowest. Microsoft is the high recruiting company. 100% got internships in Tata company. Senior semiconductor industry manager roles are offered in my course. Many of our seniors are working in the US.
Infrastructure: Hostels are new and always clean. They give top-class facilities, and they give you a B.Ed table and chair. The room is like newly opened. Hostel food includes chicken, vat, sometimes biryani, mutton curry, pulao, aloo dam, etc. The 1-year hostel mess bill is 15,000/- only.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty members are really helpful towards us. They made us industry-ready. Semester exams are more difficult than other universities, with a pass percentage of 65%. The faculty members of the ECE department are from different NITs and are the best professors from other branches in my college.
Other: I chose my subject because it's my dream subject. The best thing in the subject is PCB design. Nothing to improve. Events are top, and fests are really hype. The area is really decent. Overall, the government gives us scholarships, but for that, you just need to pass the semester exams.

Newly established Cooch Bear Government Engineering college.
Placements: Overall placement at CGEC is good. Many reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, and Byju's recruited many senior students at my college. In some years, 80% of students got placed in high-demand branches like ECE and CSE, where students got the highest placement.
Infrastructure: Our college's 20-acre campus has state-of-the-art labs, experienced faculty members, and extensive computer facilities. In our college, we have a free Wi-Fi facility. The CGEC library has various kinds of books, but they are not up-to-date. We have one girls' hostel and two boys' hostels for 4th and 3rd-year students.
