Great college, if you're not too high on expectations.

Placements: 1.Placements depends on the academic performance and how you tackle interviews. More than half of the students with no backlogs were placed. Students with backlogs were also placed. 2. 6 LPA to 1.5 LPA was the salary range offered. 3. For Mechanical branch: Bosch, royal enfield, federal bank, infosys, sriram finance, luit minerals etc. 6. Compulsory internship for every 3rd year students. BARC, Hindustan shipyard lmt etc.

Infrastructure: 1. Labs are adequate for Mechanical department. Have almost all the machines. Huge library with over 5k books. Wi-Fi campus, but not the fastest. Classroom with smart boards, but lacks AC. 2. Both Girls and boys hostel in-campus. Nursing room, ambulance etc. Available.

Faculty: 1. Helpful teachers, quite qualified with almost everyone with Ph.D. Have some great teachers. 2. Kind off. They've integrated Finishing School classes in which student learn about interviews. The mechanical curriculum have papers on Management, Accountancy and various designing softwares like AutoCAD, CREO.

Other: 1. Value for money. One of the oldest and reputed private Engineering college in the North east. 2. AC classrooms, the labs have AC though. Better cafeterias. 3. College organised government of India event HACKATHON multiple times. It conducts sports week annually and also the college fest EUPHUISM.

Absolutely satisfied with the facilities.

Placements: Lack of placement. Only sale company came last year. Less than 20% of students were placed in our batch. Some were placed in Harley Davidson, some in the local company of the state. The placement cell doesn't take any responsibility until now. Maximum students are left without being placed.

Infrastructure: The College is near the "Dipor bil" ( bird sanctuary of Assam) Azara, Guwahati. The main building is divided into 5 floors. The first floor comprise of Mechanical branch and lab. 2nd floor electrical and electronic branch and lab. 3rd floor computer Science 4th floor applied electronics and instrumentation. 5th floor consist of AEI lab and auditorium. 2nd building consist of admission cell, library. Boys and girls hostel are in campus. In the backyard of main building, playground and gym are there.

Faculty: The principal, professor, and HDO all are very kind and generous. Everybody is ready to help you whenever you are in need. They treat all the students equally. On making any decisions the professor thinks about the wellness of students. The professor and HDO are mostly qualified from IITs and good colleges.

The college has a good environment and good faculty members.

Placements: The placements of the college are average. Mostly IT and sales companies visit the college for placements. Top MNCs like Amazon and Cummins also visit the college for the placements. I got placed in JUD Cements Ltd. Overall, placements are good when compared with other north-east colleges.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of GIMT, Tezpur is average. The infrastructure of the college is developing as the college is new. The library is not that big. Workshops and other labs are average, and they have the required faculty members. Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus. The college provides medical facilities.

Faculty: The faculty members are good, and they are competent, qualified, and friendly. They are supportive in every step of our life. The course curriculum is good. The curriculum is up to the mark. It covers all the topics necessary for the students of mechanical engineering. Everyone here is very supportive.

Other: A national level fest called Avante Courer is celebrated on along with the college week.

It is a leading private institute in Northeast region.

Placements: Last few years, Girijananda Choudhury Institute of Management and Technology popularly known as GIMT has done a great job in attracting good popular companies for campus interviews. Final year students of mechanical engineering got placed in companies like Bharat Benz, Brahmaputra Harley Davidson, Cummins India limited, Garuda Power Private Limited, Ethnus Consultancy Services Private Limited, and Tech Mahindra. Other than these, companies like Genpact, Capgemini, Wipro, Force Motors, Bharati Airtel, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Bosch Limited, Sony India Private Limited, IBM India Private Limited, Zalon Technologies India Private Limited, Wipro Technologies, HDFC Bank, Greenply Industries Limited, and Assam Power Generation Corporation limited, etc. visited the campus for placements. The highest salary package offered to our students was 4.20 LPA. Some of our branches are NBA accredited, and it helps a lot during campus interviews. Also our training and placement cell is very active. They provide information about both on-campus and off-campus interviews.

Infrastructure: GIMT of Guwahati has a good infrastructure. Till date, GIMT has seven buildings on its campus. GIMT's another institute GIPS (Girijananda Choudhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science) is located on the same campus. There are separate boys and girls hostels available on the campus with 1500+ student capacity. The canteen available in the college can accomodate 500 students. The entire campus is enabled with Jionet hotspot. There is also a large library with all kinds of books available for all semesters of all courses. The reading rooms are air-conditioned with 200+ student capacity. GIMT, Guwahati has all the required laboratories with a huge workshop area, all of which are in good condition and well-maintained.

Faculty: All the faculty members of GIMT Guwahati are well educated, and most of them are honoured by PhD. All the teachers of engineering branches are with the minimum graduation of M.Tech. Many of them have one or more international research papers. Teachers often visit foreign countries like Paris, Portugal, and Russia, etc., for research purpose. Such qualified teachers will also give their best in teaching. Their teaching techniques are often unique and very helpful. GIMT provides full support for digital learning. Also, there are enough professors in each branch. The college assigns some professors as mentors for 8-12 students as a group, and they guide students in all aspects. GIMT Guwahati follows the rules and regulations of Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) in the academic section. GIMT follows the regulations of Shrimanta Shankar Academy for the administrative sector.

Other: GIMT Guwahati is the oldest private engineering college in Northeast India. It was established in the year 2005, since then it has produced a lot of talents and a lot of opportunities. GIMT has got a unique reputation in the educational sector of Northeast India. GIMT, Guwahati provides scholarships at the time of admission as well as after the semester exams for students with good marks. GIMT also offers opportunities and prizes for talents in other fields, especially during the time of Ephiusm. It is the annual function of GIMT Guwahati. It is celebrated with lots of preparation and with a heavy budget. Artists from Northeast as well as from Bollywood are invited to Ephiusm. Fashion show, Robowar, dancing, singing, gaming, quizzes and lots of other events are organized during Ephiusm.

A good college with decent placements.

Placements: The placement percentage of my batch was around 80%. Companies like Amazon, Genpact, APDCL, Godrej, Greenply, and HDFC Bank visited our campus. The average package offered was 2.5-3 lacs per annum. The college has a dedicated placement cell that looks after placements. They make sure everyone gets a chance to sit for at least one interview.

Infrastructure: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Digital classrooms are available. The library is yet to get digitalised. Mechanical labs are well-equipped. Quality of food in the canteen is not great but manageable. The campus has a medical shop and SBI ATM. I didn't stay in the hostel, so can't say much about it, but I have heard that the rooms are pretty neat and spacious.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are really helpful. They pay a lot of attention to students. Paper presentations are a part of our curriculum which helps us in gaining in-depth knowledge of the subjects. Industrial visits are mandatory as per our curriculum. We have a dedicated simulation lab.
