IIEST, Shibpur is a place which taught me life.

Placements: The placements for our batch were not as good as expected. The placements for our seniors were better in terms of the number of companies visited the campus and also the percentage of students placed. The highest package was offered by Texas Instruments, which was 15 LPA and the lowest was offered by Electrosteel, which was 3 LPA (as far as I remember). The average package offered was around 5 LPA. Companies from various domains visited the campus. Microsoft and Google visited the campus to recr...

IIEST, Shibpur - a quick overview.

Placements: When it comes to placements our college is one of the best. In our department there has always been a full hundred percent placement for the past few years. Average salary ranges between 8-9 Lacs per annum. The highest varies though previous year it was around 14 Lacs. The lowest also varies every year and this year it was 7 LPA. Generally the students are employed as junior engineers. Apart from our department other departments also have very good placement records with almost all the students ...

Starting salary for B.Arch students is low.

Placements: The placement percentage is 100%. People after B.Arch generally work in architecture firms. Some students go directly for masters. Starting salary given by firms is very low compared to other streams. This is a professional course, and it is expected to open their own firm after gaining suitable experience.

A review on IIEST, Shibpur.

Placements: The placements for our batch were really good. We had 100% placements with most of the students getting their dream job. The highest package offered was around 6 LPA, and the lowest was around 2 LPA. We had companies from tech consulting to analytics firms, and the roles offered were mainly entry-level engineers. The college doesn't have a placement cell, students had to coordinate with the professors to get companies to the college.

Perfect substitute to Jadavpur University in Kolkata.

Placements: The placements in our college are satisfactory and are similar to Jadavpur University. Although the students are not of that quality as in JU, still the college manage to keep its status not less than JU. The highest salary package offered was around 14 LPA. Some of the students got a package between 8-10 LPA. Most of the students were placed in MNC's. We have the bulk placements with an average package of 4-5 lakhs per annum.

Satisfied with other facilities, but mainly, unhappy with the placement structure.

Placements: The placements in our college are not up to the mark because the students do not get jobs in their respective core sectors, rather, most of the students get jobs in IT companies irrespective of their fields in which they have pursued the degree, which is the most embarrassing thing that occurs in placements. It has been a trend for the last few years. Students, even if they are not willing to take the job, have to accept it because there was no other option of getting placed through the campus. ...

Absolutely satisfied by the beauty and the facilities of the college campus.

Placements: The placement statistics for this year are better than the previous years. As far as the mechanical department is concerned, the placements this year was more than 70% with an average package of Rs 6.5 LPA. There will be 100% placement for IT and CSE department every year.

Our college requires development in infrastructure, but overall, I am satisfied.

Placements: Our college provides good placements. The maximum salary was Rs. 21 LPA and moreover the average package was Rs. 5 LPA. Multiple internships oriented programmes or sessions are being held to guide the freshers. Last years the placement records were fine. Upcoming years will be promising ones. 2017 marked with two Google and Micro-Soft placements.

Satisfied in every field, also the college is in its transformation phase.

Placements: The college is witnessing a transformation earlier it was a state government college, and now it is under the central government and so are the placements. The highest number of students are placed from the computer science and IT department. Mechanical engineering stands next to them. The electrical department also gets a good placement and the civil department witnesses 50% placement. Metallurgy and mining departments also fetch good placements as it has a lower number of students. Most of the...

Institution review from a 2013 passout batch.

Placements: Placement cell is good now a days. They try to help fellow students to get their job. But I think that is not enough. Placement cell needs to be more proactive to schedule more interview for the students. Students of this institute have potential, placement cell must use that to place the students in some reputate companies.

Not got the best of it but enjoyed the good of it.

Placements: If it is considered based on the number of students placed, then it was satisfactory, but the quality of placement, i.e. the job profile was average. The companies visited are TCS, CTS, IBM, Capgemini, Lexmark, Samsung, PWC, HSBC, Dynamic digital, RS Software. The maximum salary offered was 6-7 LPA, and the minimum salary is 3-3.3 LPA.

I was totally dissatisfied because of bad placements for M Tech students at every year.

Placements: In IIEST, There is no placement for a core company but the Some IT Companies recruits every year but no one joins the IT Companies because they don't have the knowledge of languages of Computer Science and salary is offered very low 3.6 lack per annum that's why post graduate students don't want to join the IT Companies, so finally the placement is not good for M tech Aspirant and Post graduate students.

Overall the college is good but not upto my expectations.

Placements: Placements were good for past years almost 100% but this year scenario is Little different although that's not a problem if you are good in your area. Companies like Vedanta, Hindalco and other IT and consultancy companies came this year for placement. This year 11/27 people got offers from core companies and few got offers from IT sector, Rest are not placed but you will get offers from JMS and other companies though the package is Little less but you will surely get an opportunity to excel in ...

A good enough college to be in.

Placements: The placements are decent enough. The placement scenario is getting better by the time. Tata Steel gave the highest package in the core engineering sector. The lowest package was usually provided with the mass recruiters. The internship prospects are getting better too. This year, the third year students have received an ample number of internship offers.

Satisfied with the college. Placements are increasing day by day.

Placements: The placement scenario is getting better day by day after becoming an institute of national importance. This year, the highest package is offered by Microsoft, and it is about 48 LPA. If you are placement oriented, I would suggest you not to opt for this college. Go for some other NITs. IIEST has a great scope for research field. The placement department is not much active.

The review to know abut my college.

Placements: The placements were very bad in 2015. Many people left unplaced after completion of the 4 years. As a core department student, I want to share that there were very few core companies took to participate in the placement programme. Mass recruiters like CTS, IBM, Infosys etc. had taken very few students in 2015.

Satisfied because of the environment and faculty.

Placements: The placements in IIEST Shibpur for mechanical engineering branch are very good. More than 75% students got placed in the last year. This year, till now, 50% of the students have got jobs in various companies including Tata Steel, Britannia, Maruti Suzuki, etc. So, IIEST has much better placement sessions in this year till now.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty, placements and infrastructure.

Placements: The placements in 2018 were good. Many core companies and IT companies came to the college. This year, Samsung R&D, Microsoft, DirectI, Tata Steel, CESC and many others came for recruitment in the campus. The highest and the lowest packages were 25 LPA and 3.5 LPA with an average package of 6.5 LPA. This time, the placement cell has worked hard to get better placements than the last year.

Good placements, excellent faculty, and infrastructure.

Placements: My answer will be specific to the mechanical engineering department. Observing the placements of last 2 years, I can say that 80 percent of the batch get placed easily, and 60 percent being in core. The average salary has been close to 7 LPA and the highest around 12 LPA. Ample internship opportunities are provided for both 1st and 2nd years.

Placements: Fairly speaking, the placements at UG level are pretty good, but when it comes to Masters, then it is below average. Academic wise, the college is very good and has a very good alumni base, since got centralised just past 3 years, so sooner, the placements will get better, we can hope.
