Satisfied with studies but not other activities.
Placements: Placement Cell is very enthusiastic about bringing new companies to the campus for placements. The average package is about 13 LPA in this recession time which is more than that of many institutions in the country and easy to do things here than that in others.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility till 2023 April is somewhat temporary based and not up to the mark but while shifting to the new campus it's a very clear and neat ambience with full Wi-Fi and cooling facilities good room facilities and mess things which are up to the mark for an IIT.
Faculty: Faculty and staff are very interested in teaching and interacting with students regarding studies and research development also they are known to explain everything which gives students a way to interact with them peacefully which gives much interest in the subject.
Other: Miraz is the fest that is celebrated every year in November that is very nice to be there.

It gives a good college life.
Placements: Around 100% of students get placed in our college. Top recruiting companies are Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, and Accenture. Interviews are taken by them.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and the infrastructure available in our college are the best. Computer lab is very good on campus.
Faculty: Semester exams conducted in our college are difficult. They make students ready to face problems in the future.
Other: Our college gives the best experience to its students.

It is a great college I can say but it is just in its initial phase of achieving excellence.
Placements: If we neglect the recession years, then I can say placements are pretty good in my branch at least. Maximum students are placed in good companies, with top companies being like Google, Accenture, etc. Whereas only a small group of people remains unplaced or don't have good post-graduation options. Internships are not that good, but as an insider, I can say the top 50 percent of the batch at least get the good internship with an above-average stipend.
Infrastructure: Our institute is in a growing phase, so some facilities are not available here, like Olympic playgrounds and student activity centers, etc. But those facilities that are built till now are up to the mark, like all hostel rooms having air conditioners installed, washing machine facilities inside the hostel, and good Wi-Fi connection with unlimited internet. So I can say those facilities that are built are very the latest and cutting edge.
Faculty: Faculty members are good enough and helpful; all teachers are Ph.D. graduates from different IITs or foreign universities. Teaching quality depends on course to course and teacher to teacher. Some are really great teachers, but some are not. The course curriculum is similar to that of other IITs, which is decent. Semester exams depend on professors, and their difficulties depend on the course; some courses are easy to do, and some courses are actually very difficult to pass. Pass percentage depends on professors; in most cases, it is 30 percent, but it can be easily changeable.
Other: My batch strength for B.Tech 2027 is 225 students, including all branches, with 55 in my Computer Science branch. These guys teach biology, digital fabrication, electrical, electronics, etc. In 1st years, which I think is very bad, I think if I get a chance to change that, I will definitely do that. Events and fests are pretty decent; the campus has a very small crowd as compared to other institutions. The surrounding area was a village when we were not here, but now it has started developing, and the main city is just 2 to 3 km apart from our main campus. Scholarships are so much available here that many students got scholarships here; scholarship notifications come every week. Extracurricular activities are decent, but I can say that due to the smaller crowd, the chance to do better in extracurriculars is very much higher here as compared to other institutions.

IIT Bhilai is the fastest growing 3rd Gen IIT.
Placements: Approximately 95% of CSE students got placed in 2021 at IIT Bhilai, both on and off campus placements. Some students opted for higher studies. The highest package remains around 16-17 LPA, and the median package is around 14 LPA. Companies like Cognizant, Arista, Paytm, Radisys, TCS, etc., come here for recruitment. Analyst and SDE are the top roles offered by most of the companies.
Infrastructure: We have a transit campus, and we will move to our permanent campus most probably in 2023. We have 24X7 working and air-conditioned computer labs with server based system on which students can learn client-server architecture. There is free Wi-Fi in the academic and hostel blocks 24x7. Hostel rooms don't have air-conditioners, but they are clean and well-maintained. Food quality in the mess is average, and it is very good on some days. There are three hostels in total, one outside the campus that has its own night-canteen. Apart from this, we have 2 canteens on campus that provide very good food at decent prices. We have a health care centre, and doctors visit there everyday. Facilities for many games like table-tennis, badminton, cricket, football and athletics are available.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with expertise in their domains. Everyone has a Ph.D. degree from well-known institutions, both Indigenous and abroad. They are available all the time for our help. The course curriculum is planned thoughtfully to make the students industry-ready. Courses are designed in a way that would help students for placements and in other domains. Semester exams can be a bit difficult sometimes, but it is easy if you work hard. The pass percentage is quite high and only in some extreme cases, instructor fail a student.
Other: I have always been fascinated with computers and wanted to learn more about their functioning. This is the most demanded course available with the highest placement rate and packages. Several events are organized here, both sports and cultural meets, including Prayatna (the biggest intra-sports meet) and Miraz (the biggest cultural fest of our college). Our college also takes part in the inter-IIT sports tournament. Scholarships are provided by the institute based on his/her merit and to minorities. Our college supports and funds every kind of extra-curricular activity, from startups to idea-pitching.

Nowhere to go but up, Permanent campus on the horizon, 2021 PERFECT time to get in.
Placements: The placements are going on an excellent pace considering the third ever placement season of this institute is going on right now. Just after 1-2 years of passing out many of our alumni and even seniors currently in college have gotten jobs and internships in the dream companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft. People have qualified for GSOC, several people are doing very well in competitive coding.
Infrastructure: I can't complain about the infrastructure for course, We have pretty good computers, boards and most of the facilities courses require. Coming to the campus infrastructure, its not the best. This is not to say the staying accommodation isn't comfortable and we have all the basic facilities land canteens but you wouldn't get the swimming pools and squash courts like you imagine in IITs. But the permanent campus construction is on good pace and the shift might happen in late 2022 (there's a reason to this, L&T which has the contract for this will lose money if they extend the project after the deadline), so all of this wouldn't be relevant in 1 year because as far as I know the permanent campus is huge and beautiful, it'll make you feel like you are somewhere special.
Faculty: Teachers are very young and knowledgeable. Although the curriculum can be hectic because of the fractal system we borrowed from IIT Hyderabad. The experience of 2020 batch has been extra rough in this regard because our semesters were 3 months long as opposed to the usual 4-5 months long because of the Covid circumstances and them waiting for the right time to call the students offline. There will be some very interesting new courses offered to everyone as electives due to the newly opened DSAI branch which I am excited about, you might even try for Hons in DSAI along with usual B.Tech and that will be a neat thing to have on your degree.
Other: This year 2021 is THE PERFECT time to join IIT Bhilai in my opinion because it is the sweet spot before the skyrocket of closing ranks for branches like CSE, EE, DSAI and getting to stay in permanent campus for 3/4th of your college life. You should think from the angle that when you'll sit in your campus placements it'll be 2025 I. e. 9 years after the opening of IIT Bhilai. Just look at all the 2nd gen IITs opened around 2010 and tell me you wouldn't like to be sitting in any of them during your placement season with core branches in 2017.
