For admission to the M.Tech programme at IIT Bhilai, candidates must meet the eligibility constituted by the institute. Below are the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Tech programmes at IIT Bhilai:

Candidates are required to appear for the GATE or GPAT exam or if the candidate has passed BTech from any of the IITs with an 8.0 CGPA. Furthermore, candidates are required to register themselves for COAP.

For admission to IIT Bhilai MTech course, students are admitted through a valid GATE score. As per the selection process, candidates must pass graduation with BTech from a recognised board. Further, candidates need to appear for GATE entrance exams and get a qualifying score to get shortlisted for the course. Later on, the final seat allotment is done through COAP Counselling session. Students who are graduated from IIT are exempted from the GATE entrance score requirement.
