Petroleum department is very good here.

Placements: I joined this college (IITISM Dhanbad) in 2024 in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Last year, in 23, about 80% students were placed. The highest package is 46 LPA and the lowest is 7 LPA in Electronics department. Top recruiting companies are Texas instruments, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Reliance JIO, Goldman Sachs, etc. Many students got internships in Google, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, sprinkler, etc. About 60% students get internships. Many students get placed in the technical field like software development, application development, and web development, and also in the core field like analog circuit design.

Infrastructure: Now this college has tag of IIT so its infrastructure is very good. Fully Wi-Fi campus but some network issue are there due to its location. The library is fully Wi-Fi enabled and air-conditioned; you can study there from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Hostel quality is good. Food quality in mess is also good. There are facilities for every sports like football, swimming, cricket, basketball, etc.

Faculty: Here, all professors are well qualified and well experienced. The electronics department is somehow a difficult branch and hectic. So you don't have so much time for extracurricular activities. Semester examinations are also hard to some extent, but you are coming after clearing JEE Advanced, so you can pass easily.

Other: In IIT (ISM), Dhanbad fests like Concetto, Khanan, and Srijan take place. In IIT, students come from almost all states of India, so you can see diversity here, and all cultural fests are celebrated on this campus.

Absolutely satisfied with the placements of our college.

Placements: For the year 2022, our batch got around 95 percent placements from the placement cell itself. The highest package is around 95 lacs per annum, and some other companies like Amazon, Google, etc. gave 45 LPA. All the students average package was around 10 lpa.

Infrastructure: Our hostels are so good they provide drinking water plants on every floor. Every room gets its own Wi-Fi and LAN ports. They provide milk and eggs daily. We got 3 lecture halls where the classes will be held. Every department got its own laboratories.

Faculty: All the professors are well experienced and teach very well. Even support you in the labs if you get stuck. We have a criteria of 35 percent to get a pass. The exams were a bit difficult as they do not ask direct questions. We have to have knowledge of the theory.

Amazing College with all facilities.

Placements: 80 to 89% of undergraduate students have secured placements. The highest salary package offered reaches up to several crores, approximately 2 crores per annum. On average, the annual package amounts to around 13 LPA. Renowned companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and others conduct campus selections and offer exceptional internship opportunities.

Infrastructure: B Block is the name of a building, with each room having its own designated name. The labs within the building are equipped with a wide range of tools and machinery, ensuring an optimal learning experience. The campus provides Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling students to stay connected at all times. The classrooms are spacious and equipped with advanced teaching technology. The library receives approximately 10,000 student visits.

Faculty: The instructors possess exceptional qualifications, with the majority holding PhDs from prestigious international universities, instilling confidence in their teaching abilities. Approximately 70% of the faculty members have experience in the field of mining. Meeting specific attendance requirements is mandatory for students.

Really good and very old college.

Placements: Starting with the batch and course, it's perfectly fine. When I applied, I wasn't this sure about the course or college. But after I joined, seeing the environment of IIT, I assured myself that I had taken the right decision. Talking about placements, around 75% of students in our course got placed. Around 5-10% are interested in civil, and 5% of the remaining students have already started startups. Top recruiting companies for our course are Google, Microsoft, Barclays, Sprinklr, Bajaj, PhonePe, Flipkart, Tata, Zepto, UltraTech Cement, Accenture, ICICI Bank, Amdocs, Axis Bank, Reliance, Beehyv, Jindal Steel and Power, Maruti Suzuki, Uber, etc. These are the top recruiting companies for our course. Obviously, IITs mainly focus on all-round development. Every student goes on with their interest, so main roles are like product engineer, data analyst, machine learning students, etc. The highest package for our course on campus is 58 LPA, and the lowest could be 9-10 LPA. The average package would be 18-23 LPA. Around 30-40% of students got internships from our course.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are excellent. Labs are properly equipped and are assisted by well-qualified teaching assistants, and also neatly arranged and maintained. Wi-Fi is good. Classrooms are large enough to accommodate around 150 people for now, but still, a new building construction is happening which can accommodate more people. Coming to the library, we have the Central Library which is Asia's second-largest technical library. It has 7 floors, one complete floor is dedicated to the reading hall. Almost every preferred book can be found there along with magazines and newspapers. Moreover, the library is properly maintained with high security.

Faculty: Teachers here are really good and very helpful and supportive towards students. They are highly qualified. Obviously, entering into IITs as a professor is really challenging, and they are very knowledgeable. Teaching here is perfectly planned and goes on with a system. The course curriculum is very much relevant which not only focuses on technical skills, but as an engineering student, all the things which you must learn are really taught. This boosts confidence in students about their capabilities, making them industry-ready. Semester exams are not that easy, obviously, but not so difficult to fail. So mostly in semester exams, the questions are based on what professors taught in class, but after joining engineering, we don't listen to classes that much, which makes semester exams a little difficult. But the competition is very high since all are IITians. The pass percentage is around 90%.

Other: I chose this course because of IIT and also I consulted many of my seniors and they gave positive reviews about the course and college. I feel everything is okay about my course and college. Many events occur in our college. We have many fests in our college, like one technical, one cultural, and one sports fest. Apart from these, there are many departmental fests. Our campus has a large crowd but it is not reflected due to the large campus area. We have a Student Activity Center (SAC) which encourages extracurricular activities.

A very good and decent college.

Placements: So currently I am a sophomore at Indian Institute of Technology Indian School Of Mine Dhanbad also known as IIT ISM DHANBAD. As per the placement cell of IIT Dhanbad ~70% of my branch seniors (Electronics and communication Engineering) were placed on campus.

Infrastructure: Electronics branch as we know is a versatile branch. It helps in almost every field of engineering. We have separate classrooms for theory/core lectures and separate labs means there are separate lab for each core subject like digital lab, signal lab, vlsi lab etc. Hostel facilities are also good. Regular cleaning and sanitation of hostel happens. Mess food is average. One can eat and survive.

Faculty: Mostly professors of IIT ISM DHANBAD had done their UG PG and Ph.D. from reputed Institutes like IITs and NITs. So they are no doubt highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also nice. The course curriculum is also relevant for getting a job in core. We have twoexams- mid semester and end semester examination and multiple quizzes and labs in a semester. And mostly question are of decent level If one can study one week before the exams he/she can pass easily or even get good grades.
