Candidate must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class XII (or equivalent examination), i.e. in either 2023 or 2024: Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with a minimum of five subjects and with the mentioned marks in aggregate (65% for PwD candidates) from a recognized board. Absolutely satisfied with the college because of the really good environment and placements.

Placements: In the year 2023, due to the recession, placements were not as good as in previous years, but still, around 70 percent of students were placed. The highest package offered in 2023 was 2.1 crores, but it was off-campus. On campus, the highest package was 87 LPA, a PPO from Atlassian. Apart from PPOs, the highest package was 56 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, ONGC, Barclays, Schlumberger, and Gail, etc. Around 300 students out of 1000 got internship offers on campus at companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, SLB, Tata Steel, British Petroleum, and Zepto, etc. Top roles offered were SDE, Product Manager, Mining Engineer, and AI/ML Engineer, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of departments and some hostels is very good, but first-year hostels require a lot of improvement. Rooms are too small to accommodate two students; otherwise, all other hostels are good. The ISM library is one of the best in the country. All hostels and departments have Wi-Fi, and AC is going to be installed in all the classes soon. The biggest drawback is the mess food; you will get fed up eating the same food repeatedly. To compensate, many canteens and eateries are present on campus, and recently Domino's also opened. Giving 3 stars only due to mess food.

Faculty: The curriculum is the same as in other engineering colleges in India. Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable, but only some can deliver the knowledge properly. Some teachers teach very well, but there are also professors you won't understand at all. The course curriculum is relevant, as almost all students with average grades get placed irrespective of their department. Semester exams are not so difficult; you can easily get decent grades. Less than 10 percent of students fail, and that's because they don't study at all.

Good infra, Decent profs and Rigid Administration.

Placements: Around 80-90% of the batch strength got placed this year. In Core, many big companies like Tata and Vedanta Cairn recruited many students. There were many big companies in non core for various profile which recruited irrespective branch. Minimum package was of 10lpa.

Infrastructure: Campus has decent infrastructure along with fair amount of greenery. Hostel Rooms and library are equipped with high-speed internet. There are many chilling spots and several food selling outlets in the campus including Barista and Nescafe which provides food at discounted price. Student Activity Centre is the hub of creativity in the college. Medical facility is pretty good and available for 24*7 for every student.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, very knowledgeable and supportive. Course and faculty both ensure that we understand the industrial process as well. Semester exams vary from moderate to hard but is easy if one studies regularly. Although end seems are there yet 75% attendance criteria is a major issue.

Other: Events are really nice, colourful and joyful. There are different cultural and technical clubs to enhance both technical as well as soft skills and also refreshes one amidst the academic load. Also, Administration is very strict.

An honest review on IIT Dhanbad.

Placements: IIT Dhanbad is one of the best colleges for B.Tech. Last year, the highest package at Dhanbad was about 50 LPA, the average was 13 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA from my course. Almost 84% are placed, and 76% of students got their internship from many famous companies.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Dhanbad can be improved; it is not as good as comparing to other IITs. Wi-Fi is provided in every class, and in hostels, you also get LAN in your room. But if we talk about the buildings of the hostel, they are not so good, and the mess food is acceptable but not so good.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and very helpful in nature. Students can work with teachers on research papers and other project work. Since the curriculum is also relevant to industries. Exams in IIT Dhanbad are not so tough; if you are attentive in your class, then you can score well.

Other: Everything is perfect, except infrastructure. Infrastructure need improvement.

It is the best as I expected, and all the facilities are top-notch.

Placements: In our branch, the relative number of students placed was less than other branches. The packages vary from 3-15 LPA. I will pass out in 2024. Many students from my course have applied for internships. To be exact, 70% of students are currently doing internships.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided to students in any aspect, be it accommodation, mess or any other facilities, all are top notch. We are provided with Wi-Fi facilities on the whole campus. Each classroom has its own labs and classrooms. The food provided to students is tasty and hygienic.

Faculty: The faculty members in our college are very knowledgeable and graduated from top universities. Many of them are from IITs. So, their knowledge is abundant, and their teaching level is amazing. I never felt bored of their classes. Semester exams are not very difficult.

Other: There is no specific reason for choosing this course, but I love studying about environment since my childhood. It is mostly practical, so it's easy to understand.

IIT Dhanbad in a nutshell

Placements: Around 49% students were placed at Internship, which is pretty decent considering our branch. Average stipend of 40k per month, and highest was rs 1.3 lakh around. Top recruitment companies are Tata, Amazon, Deloitte and Google. The job here are high profile jobs, promising a bright future.

Infrastructure: Great Infrastructure, wonderful dormitories, equipped labs with great faculty. Wifi enabled hostel, with 24 hrs water and electricity, ensuring a good hostellife. Mess is in the main block, food is decent, quite edible, pure veg option is available.

Faculty: Highly skilled and qualified faculty, course is very much relevant, but I think it is time that new branches should be added. Around 78% students pass the sem terms. We have open book tests. Talking about courses, it is good for entry level, however I doubt if it makes you industry ready.

Other: Wonderful events and fests, Salsa 2024 is the biggest event of the year. Scholarship are offered considering financial condition of candidates, same as other IITs.
