Coolest college of India. If you stay there once, you would like to stay there for life time.

Placements: Placement in private firm is quite good, but nowadays PSU company is not coming to college. But the private firms like, Google, Microsoft and other companies give good packages. Every year, the average salary offered to the students is 7 LPA to 8 LPA. The faculty also use their contacts to call the companies, and they created a placement cell for better placement. Senior students who were already passed also help very much. The placements are average. In every ten people, 6 got placed.

The college is the best under the lap of nature.

Placements: The placements were really good in this year with a strength of 45 in EEE branch, and about 85% of the students got placed from our branch out of which 60% of student showed interest towards IT firms and software industry. Rest went for core jobs or analytics. The companies like Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, Tower Research, Oracle, Directi, Microsoft, etc., were of common interest to our branch.

The experience of a lifetime in this beautiful heavenly place

Placements: Several companies come to offer jobs but due to high competition, the chances of a getting handsome salary are moderate. You have to be best amongst all the candidates in your branch and should maintain a good CPI for sure as every company first sees your CPI and then the rest of your resume. The average salary in chemical science and technology is 10-11 lakhs per year and the highest may go up to 20-21 lakhs depending on the companies coming for placements. ...

The most beautiful IIT with the steepest growth rate

Placements: The placement scene is quite good. We have some crore+ packages as well. The placement percentage is about 80-90 (excluding the rejection due to higher studies or startups) The non-core placements are very good. More and more companies come every year. Our recruiters are Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Tata, Schlumberger, Flipkart, Amazon, Adobe, Infosys, etc. The average domestic package is about 11-12 lakhs (CTC) and the highest domestic packages are about 50-60 LPA (CTC). The college has good placements and infrastructure.

Placements: The placements in IIT Guwahati is good. So many companies have visited to take students. The total students placed last year are 70% that is 413/590 of B.Tech students. The highest salary offered is 1 crore 10 lakhs per annum, the lowest salary offered was 4.8 lakhs per annum and the average salary offered is 15.07 LPA. I am very satisfied with the campus is very well maintained and provides some excellent facilities.

Placements: The placements were pretty good. The average package offered was Rs. 15 lacs. Actually, from this branch, a lot of people are used to opt for research. About 75% of the students get placed every year. The highest package offered was Rs. 15 lacs, and the lowest offer was Rs. 9.5 lacs. The branches like CSE and EEE have a huge average of Rs. 20 lacs. The companies like Microsoft, Flipkart, Schlumberger and a lot more visit the campus every year. The roles are offered in the core sectors like civil...

Real-life problems in IITG

Placements: Nothing good in placements and the CCD barely does its work. More amount of money from the government is required for admin to work properly. You won't find many non-coding companies coming to campus, only 1/core companies come to campus per branch. Biotech barely gets placements on the campus.

A college review of IIT Guwahati.

Placements: The highest domestic package was 30 LPA, the minimum package was 5.5 LPA, and the average was approximately 9PLA for my batch. It was almost similar for my senior batch. Prominent companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Schlumberger, Adobe, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. were there. The roles were offered were mainly of a software developer, management trainee, business analyst, and graduate engineer trainee.

Placements in the graduate level are very good. Research is very good with excellent infrastructure.

Placements: in M.Tech level, the placement is not good enough but in the previous chemical M.Tech batch, 15 out of 45 got placed. In the graduate level, the placement is very good. We can say that 30% got placed in M.Tech and 70% got placed in B.Tech . The highest package in M.Tech is 9-10 lacs per year and in B.Tech, it is 30 lacs per year. The average salary in M.Tech is 6-7 lacs per year and in B.Tech, it is 10-12 lacs per year. There are a few core companies and a good number of IT sector companies whic...

In other words, a good experience.

Placements: The placements are promising but it all depends on how the students approach these companies and the amount of work they put in themselves. The companies that mostly come to us are from the corporate social responsibility sector and some others belong to the social services sector. Some students even express an inclination towards opting for further studies for which they can apply for the PhD programme.

Good campus but the HSS department has to be improved further.

Placements: To be frank, none of our seniors from 2017 batch got better placements. Most of them are now preparing for NET exams. Some of them, however, have joined NGOs. To yield better results a lot of hard work is required. Unless some good initiatives are being taken, nothing can be hoped.

Good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: The seniors have not been offered placements. The placement system is not up to the expectation. Quite often, the students from humanities are looked down upon. In fact, these students are no less and ideally should be offered the best of the best in all spheres. The placements need to be widened up for the humanities students.

Satisfied with faculty, good infrastructure and facilities, beautiful campus.

Placements: Actually, I am a masters student, therefore, we couldn't receive more placement facilities on the campus because only for 25-35 students, reputed companies were not able to come. In our 2-3 senior batches, only a few students got a chance to get placed with 25000 to 30000 as the average salary. I don't know more about companies which visited our campus, but several NGOs had visited previously. For our batch placements, placement coordinators were planning to invite more than 100 companies into o...

Enjoy your life. It's a most beautiful campus.

Placements: One of the best. Students who bunked the classes and were not serious were the only ones unable to get a placement. Those who were serious about academics or placements got a good placement. Keep your CPI above 7 and placement will be 100% guaranteed. For those with CPI between 6 to 7, there are 50-70% chances and below 6, it depends on the luck. The student at the top had more options than needed.
