Placements: If you choose coding as your career, then almost 100% placements with good packages than core companies. For core jobs, good companies like Reliance, Altair, GM, VE and PSUs come. Average students can get a job if he puts his dedication. Lowest salary offered is around 4 LPA. (in 2016) The average salary offered is around 10 LPA and the highest offered is around 1.5 crore. Internship opportunities are fewer and totally depend upon on an individual's capability. ...
Placements: On an average, 70-80% students get on campus placements. It varies largely from branch to branch. Whereas branches like CSE, MnC and design have more than 90 % placements, branches like biotechnology, CST and EP are as low as 50% because of their research-oriented nature. Most of the placements are in coding, data analytics and corporate. In the recent years, placements in core have declined due to the new hiring policy of PSUs, but in 2017, many students from ECE, EEE and mechanical got core jo...
Placements: Placements are quite poor with PSUs lining up to hire at IITs the chances of getting placed are going to improve. Due to its location, not many companies are interested in coming all the way to IITG for hiring students. Most of the students are not placed and keep trying to get placed off-campus. Due to the course structure, the students are not job-ready by the end of 4 years so naturally, they are of no interest to core companies that look for well-updated engineers. ...
Placements: All students who sat for placement were placed. Average package was around 22 lakhs. A lot of companies visit including Microsoft, Nutanix, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Samsung, Abzooba, OLA, Uber etc. for software development and research based profiles. The placements take place during the winter vacations after the 7th semester. Around 250 companies visit the campus during that time.
Placements: In particularly my department (mechanical), I don't know why, but less no. of core companies came for placement seasons. That's why here is high competition for core field. But in other fields like coding, analyst, consultant and others fields option also here. And majority of mechanical department students are placed in these fields. Those who have low cpi also have a very good chance to grab a job in any of these fields. Almost 50-65% students are placed from mechanical department. Almost 15-2...
Placements: This year there were 3-4 placements with above 80 lakhs package. The percentage of placements varies from branch to branch, as in computer science, electrical and MNC almost whole batch was placed. In branches like Mechanical, civil & chemical, it was nearly about 50%. The companies which visited the campus from nearby all the sectors, like Oracle, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Rivigo, Citibank, ITC, IOCL, HPCL, L&T, Arkitechno, etc. There were about 70 pre-placement offers, offered to students. Ave...
Placements: I am a final year Bachelor of Design student at IIT Guwahati. For those who are not aware, the department of design in IITG is one of the unique ones in the nation. Especially talking of placements, most of the graduates from here go into the UI/UX industry. Talking about the stats, the placement is 100% from the last five years for the department of design. The highest salary offered this year (2016-17) was 30 LPA (domestic) and the lowest was 8 LPA whereas the average salary was 13 LPA. Well-k...
Placements: Placements were pretty good this year. Approx 90% students got placed. 1 cr, 7 lakh, 22 lakh are the highest, lowest and average CTC respectively. Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Abzooba, Trivago, Adobe, Kivi Capitol, Goldman Sachs etc visited the campus. Data analytics, management, finance, software engg. posts were offered. 80% got internship. The highest stipend was 1 lakh, lowest was around 10k and average was around 25k.
Placements: 90%+ placement of our seniors. Students of CPI 7+ will be placed. The average package offered is Rs. 24 lakh, lowest is 15 lakh. A student got Rs. 93 lakh in Oracle. Many companies like Oracle, Samsung, Mahindra, Nutnix, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, VMware etc. In our branch, most students get job in software development. 70%+ go for internship.
Placements: There will be less private companies like L&T in the placement season, making it impossible to crack a job in our field. But you will always have an opportunity in other fields. I would say that IITG CE has one of the best curriculum and work that is done here is good, which is finally helpful if you want to pursue MS or to crack IES. The placement percentage is about 40 percent in our batch this year.
Placements: In IIT Guwahati, placement session started on 1 December 2016, all the fourth year B.Tech ND B.des students, final year M.tech, M.Sc. and PhD students registered for placement. The total number of registered students were more than 1000 and around 515 students got placement. The percentage of placement for our senior batch was 50. Almost every 2nd student on the campus was placed. Many students also got PPO in various multinational companies like Amazon, Google, etc. More than 190 companies regi...
Placements: The placements were awesome, continuing the trend of previous years. This year also the placements were nice and almost all of the students got placed within a week. Major recruiters included Goldman Sachs, Samsung Research (SRIB), Amazon India, Adobe, Directi, Novi Digital (Hotstar), Credit Suisse, HP, VMWare, FICO and others. More than 90% of students were placed within 5 days. Different kinds of roles were offered such as Software Developer, R&D Engineer, Strat (Analyst), MLRM, Consultant etc...
Placements: For batch 2015, at the end of the placements season, around 63% students got placed. For batch 2014, it was around 49%. For civil engineers, placements scenario was not that good as most of the civil engineers got placed in noncore branches. In 2015, the highest package in civil engineering offered was 12 LPA and lowest was 4.4 LPA. Research internship was the major internship that the students were given in civil engineering and stipend included food, accommodation and 20,000 rupees per month f...
Placements: As of now, 25/70 registered students have been placed and among those placed, 8 are placed in core sector or so to say, field related to civil engineering. Others are placed in IT firms. The core firms which have recruited in the past and in the placement season are L&T, ITS Planner, ASC Infratech, HPCL, IOCL, BPCL and Coal India. This year we are expecting Power Grid to show up as well for recruitment.
Placements: Being in the senior year, I attended the last placement season held in December. Placements were pretty good. However, the number of startups were I think less than the previous year. The number of placements were nearly 100% for computer science and mathematics department, while it was somewhat lesser for other departments like mechanical or chemical. Finance related companies like Tower research and GS offered the highest packages.
Placements: Placements are 100 % guaranteed. Almost every PSU comes for placements in our college. Consulting companies like Deloitte and KPMG also come to visit. IT companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS contribute to maximum job offers. The highest stipend of rupees 25 lakhs was offered by FB in 2013 and the lowest package of rupees 6 LPA was offered by July systems. The average package goes up to 10 LPA.
Placements: Out of the registered 20 students for placements, 15 were placed, that is around 75%. The highest salary that was offered was roughly around 28 lakhs per annum, but I am not sure of the lowest. The average salary was 10.78 LPA which is an official record. A host of companies from IT, core engineering, finance, analytics, e-commerce, consulting, etc visited the campus. A few of the 140 companies that visited last year were Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Reliance, Flipkart, etc. Most of the interns fr...
Placements: The placement is good here. About 80% students got placed last year, with an average package of 10 lakhs PA. Last year, the maximum salary was 34 lakhs and the minimum was 5 lakhs. In core, PSUs like Coal India, ISRO, Oil India, ITC etc came last year and in non-core, many companies like Goldman Sachs came. The internship opportunity is quite good here, as companies like ITC came to the campus to offer the same.
Placements: Placements of the previously passed batches were good. There are a lot of non-core companies visiting the campus in the placement season but the situation of the core engineering companies is poor. This is mainly because of the remote location of the campus over any metropolitan city. The highest placements offer previous year was by Google for about Rs. 85 lakhs pa, whereas some of the lowest placements were offered by the core companies. The companies mainly visiting the campus are Microsoft, ...
IIT Guwahati is one of the best engineering colleges in India. It has a very beautiful campus. The campus life is amazing, with a lot of sports and co-curricular activities for the students. The only downfall is that the campus is pretty far off from the city and the city does not have much to offer, in comparison to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, etc. Most of the faculty members are excellent, both in teaching and in research. Engineering Physics offers a good blend of engineering courses and core ...
