IIT Guwahati is one of the oldest IITs. It is famous for its greenery and beauty. It is vast with a lot of places to sit beside nature. IIT Guwahati is the right mixture of old and new, with state of the art infrastructure and single hostel rooms for all students (How awesome is that?). Infrastructure : IITG had an excellent infrastructure. The classrooms, library, labs and everything was perfect except for some issues in the sports facilities. Speaking for the Electronics and Communications department, the professors are great and the research facilities are really good. The rigor is more on the theoretical side of the engineering, placing a base for understanding and further learning. I feel good to be here. This was started as an IIT so its functioning is quite well. It is one the most beautiful campuses in India. The work culture is superb, there is no restriction to work 24 X 7. All the teachers are young and supportive, except for some of them. Placements: Around 92% of students from our branch got placed. The avg package was of 36 LPA. Many big MNC's had come to recruiter us like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TCS, Qualcomm and may more. Almost 80% of students were selected for internships. The roles were mostly based on SDE and also many of core jobs especially for our EEE branch companies like QUALCOMM intel and many more.
