Review of IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements are very good at IIT Hyderabad. In 2022, almost 95% of students who applied for placements were placed. The highest salary package offered was 65 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 10 LPA and the average salary package offered was 21 LPA. Top recruiting companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Oracle, etc., visited our campus. Top roles like SDE (software developer engineer), data scientist, and management roles were offered.
Infrastructure: IIT Hyderabad is a new-age IIT among all the other IITs. The infrastructure of the college is very good and modern. Construction is always going on and new buildings are coming up for every department. It has every facility like labs, a library, swimming pools, sports grounds, canteens, etc. The food served in the mess is not very good. I belong to North India, so I don't like South Indian food much. The food is also available at the canteen.
Faculty: IIT Hyderabad follows a fractal curriculum, i. e., the semester is divided into some small courses and long courses. The assessment for the courses is divided into parts, like the mid-sem exams and end-sem exams. Teachers are very helpful. Most of the teachers are highly qualified and have their Ph. Ds from reputed universities. There is a grading system followed in the college, which is mostly relative and sometimes absolute.

Highly satisfied with the dynamic curriculum and fractals system that helps you take any course.
Placements: About 50% of the people (2020 passing out batch) from chemical engineering are placed by December 2019. The highest salary package offered would be 45 LPA. The lowest salary package offered would be 8 LPA. I'm not sure about the average salary because a lot of people are yet to be placed. Some of the top companies are Microsoft, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, BPCL, Adobe, Honeywell, etc. They offered roles such as process engineer, design engineer, software developer, data analyst. About 30% of them got internships at companies like Microsoft, BPCL, etc. The rest of them had done projects under world-class professors in the college. Some of them even went to Japan/US to be research interns in the top university of the world.
Infrastructure: We have 24x7 high-speed Wi-Fi access in the academic buildings. Labs are of high-end equipment where the college allows us to perform experiments on in the presence of a TA. Classrooms are all air-conditioned. We have a small library for now. The learning centre is still under construction, which would mostly be over by this semester. We have LAN ports in our hostel rooms which are even most faster. We have single rooms in the college right from 1st year, unlike some colleges where you can never think about single rooms. The hostel management is very attentive in addressing student issues and getting them done swiftly. We have Amul and Nescafe shops in the canteens and other contract-based food shops. Subway outlet is on its way. We have a 24x7 ambulance and doctor facility. We have recreational rooms where we can Netflix and chill with your buddies. We have long, never-ending roads to go for a walk. The campus is filled with trees. There are grounds and courts for almost all sports and games. You just have to find time to balance between your academic life and the other.
Faculty: Teachers here are all world-class who have done their PhDs in top universities of the world. They are filled with a bunch of experiences and knowledge about current trends in chemical engineering. They were the ones who taught us that chemical engineering should've been named process engineering as it has nothing to do with the former and everything to do with the latter. Chemical engineering has nothing to do with chemistry. The teachers are practical people, and often they talk about traditional science knowledge and current opportunities. The course curriculum is a dynamic curriculum which is amended by the queries and changes suggested by the students. It makes us do core courses right from the beginning of the course, which gives us a lot of time to dive into the world of chemical engineering. The fractal system allows us to take any course from any branch as you wish to. You have the flexibility to choose almost half of your courses. No curriculum in India can make students industry-ready, but this being a dynamic curriculum is improvising students every year on the path to become industry-ready.
Other: Like most people, I got the branch because of my JEE rank. The best things are the practical faculty who would motivate you and help you with almost anything. We had been doing a lot of advanced courses right from the first year. Even if we're ahead in the rat race, I wish they change it in the second year. A lot of events are conducted all over the year. Icebreakers, freshers night, treasure hunt, Photowalks, Inter IIT Meets, technical clubs, cultural clubs, sports, sports league, Inter-year league, Inter-Hostel League. You can get almost anything inside the college. There are a lot of meritorious scholarships being awarded.

Good academic and research supporting institute but infrastructure and facilities can be better.
Placements: In the chemical engineering of IITH, around 15 students were placed, but most of them were placed in non-core companies like IT field and software companies. Top recruiting companies like Tata Research and Development, Vedanta, etc., visited our campus. Some students went abroad for higher studies. The highest salary package offered in our course is not revealed. About 50-60% of students from our course went for internships. Some companies, like Reckitt Benckiser, BR Specialist, etc., visited our campus.
Infrastructure: We have a separate building for the chemical department, named as academic block A. Wi-Fi facility provided is very good. We also have a LAN connection in our hostel rooms and in some labs. Classrooms have centralised air-conditioners. We have only one library for the entire campus, which is not sufficient. Quality of the food in the mess is not great. Nescafe is available on our campus for the students. Other facilities, like medical and sports are good. We have an ambulance which takes students to the nearby hospital in an emergency.
Faculty: Faculty members helps students with many things. There is an advisory faculty for each department and for each batch who will guide students in the academics. Our course curriculum is a bit different compared to other institutes. We have a fractal academic system in which a semester is divided into 3 segments, and a course will be held in these segments according to their credit of that course. This system has both advantage and disadvantages. The disadvantages are if the course duration is being reduced from 1 semester to 1 segment, then the details and content of that course will soon be forgotten by the students.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was interested in it. If this course has a more experimental or industry-based experiment, then it would be great instead of many theory. Many events are organised in our college, like Ice Cream Night, DJ Night, Bonfire, etc. Elan and Vision is our college fest. Around 2,500 students are studying in college, including PhD and M.Tech students. There are many cultural and science tech clubs where students can join and have fun.

Best facilities and ambience to live in for learning, exposure, and memories.
Placements: The number of companies participating in the placement process is 238. The average salary offered was 11.5 LPA. The highest salary offered is 40 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Microsoft, Qualcomm, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, ISRO, HPCL, BPCL, Samsung, Honeywell, and many more. Among the firms that issued PPOs, Amazon, Qualcomm, Samsung (Delhi), Boston Scientific were the well-known ones.
Infrastructure: IITH has a well-equipped library with over 20,000 books and 10,000 periodicals. IITH has over 100 research labs and equipment for performing advance research. Hostel rooms are of single occupancy and are designed with radiant cooling technique and basic infrastructure. First aid and ambulance are available 24-hours.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified (Professor Kiran Kuchi at IITH holds a patent in 5G networks). As the programme is fractal, the learning is lengthy and in-depth which is unique from any other IIT. We can have a clear view of every course offered in the first 2-3 semesters, and then we can study in-detailed course.
Other: Elan and Nvision, the techno-cultural fest of IITH, which is a 3-day fest, has a footfall of around 6,000-8,000 with exciting events and technological insights.

Good faculty and placements. Amazing academic flexibility and has tons of activities.
Placements: The companies like Microsoft, Goldmann Sachs, TCS, PWC, BPCL, Infosys, and much more came for the placements. The highest package offered was around Rs. 30 lacs per annum (approximately top 10), and Rs. 6-12 lacs per annum as an average. There are internships in the companies like Snapdragon, IBM, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and Tata Steel. The stipend provided to the students was Rs. 20,000-50,000 per month as an average, and one lac per month for the top students.
Infrastructure: In the hostels, there are facilities like single occupancy hostels, automatic washing machine, and superfast LAN connections (upwards of 500 MBPS). The academic building is operational, and it has the facilities like superfast Wi-Fi, the library has subscriptions of over 50 international journals and a collection of over 1,00,000 books, state-of-the-art labs with modern equipment. Others facilities like 24x7 dispensary, pharmacy, ambulance services, sports complex are divided into 2 places. In sports, there are facilities like soccer, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, and tennis court on the main campus. The basketball, badminton court and swimming pool are approximately 30 minutes away from the main campus, but free bus service is available for transport.
Faculty: The student to faculty ratio is 13:1. Most of the faculty members are knowledgeable, experienced, and very helpful. Their contacts can be very helpful while finding internships and placements. Since many of them have worked at least once in the industry, you can expect a guest lecture from their friends in the industry. We have something called fractal system at a place which basically means that all subjects are divided into small courses (fractals). We can take these courses as per our convenience like year, semester, and segment. It gives a lot of academic flexibility which provides us with a lot of time for co-curricular activities. We have a lot of lab courses to offer us with hands-on experience and help to understand the theory.
Other: The campus is connected to the airport by a network of highways, so no traffic while going to the airport (approximately 60 KM away-covered in approximately 50 min). The railway station is only 30-40 Km away, and the buses are available just outside the campus for the same. Our main techno-cultural fest is Elan and vision. It attracts a crowd from all over India with an approximate footfall of more than 5000 with a 10-20% increase every year. Many events and extracurricular activities are conducted on a regular basis like - swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Vidyadaan, open mic, ethnic day, departmental day, sports day, friendship race, TEDx, IIT Hyderabad, etc.
