It has natural beauty, but not sure about the quality of education.
Placements: Out of 22, only 7-8 students got placed. Two of them secured jobs in land management, one in management, and the rest in teaching profiles. Unplaced students opted for higher studies. The highest salary package offered is 14 LPA and the minimum salary package offered is 7 LPA. All students secured internships. Top roles offered in our batch are software developer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Materials science lab is well-equipped with all the necessary instruments, such as SEM, TEM, XRD, and more. There is also one dedicated lab for materials students that includes a muffle furnace and many other things. Recently built hostels are good, all are single occupancy rooms with air-conditioning. There is one separate building dedicated to mess only, which is of 4 floors.
Faculty: Teachers are good but not much. Most of them have completed their education from esteemed universities, mostly from outside India. Only a few of them teach well and other's teaching style is so boring. Pass percentage is 33%. Exams are easy to moderate, if we know concepts then we can score good grades.

It is the fastest growing IIT of 3rd generation.
Placements: Placement is good. 63% of students got placement till 23rd June 2024. Some students go abroad for higher education after completing their B.Tech degree. This year the highest package of Materials is Rs 15 Lacs and the average package is Rs 8 Lacs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the hostel is good. Wi-Fi facility and Ethernet facility are available in every room. The quality of food in the mess is good. A new sports complex is being built for sports. Indoor and outdoor games are available. Modern equipment is also available in the gym. There are different labs for all the departments.
Faculty: The teachers here are good. The teachers here are very hardworking and helpful. In the first year of your B.Tech, you are taught courses of all departments. After that, you are given attention to the courses of your department. The semester exam system is designed like this: first class test, then midsem, then class test, and then end sem.

As this is a new IIT, the infrastructure is new, and the equipment is well-advanced.
Placements: Around 20 percent of students in my branch get placement through campus. The highest package was 20 lakhs, the lowest placement was 4 lakhs, and the average package is around 7-9 lakhs in my course. The top recruiting company last year was Byju's. Around 10 percent of students received internships in different sectors, including tech companies and core industries.
Infrastructure: Our campus is operating on 35 acres right now, and it is expanding slowly. We have a very small library here, which is just adequate. The campus is fully equipped with WiFi. The hostels are not very impressive but are good enough. The mess food is the worst. We have sports facilities for badminton, athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, a pool table, gym, etc. We have a medical unit also.
Faculty: Some of the professors are good and help students after the lecture too, but some of the professors are not experienced enough to teach, and their behavior is also poor. The course curriculum is very relevant and is similar to other IITs. You can get a very good CGPA with only minimal effort, but there is a subject called calculus which requires a lot of effort to pass.

I believe our college has an excellent internship and extra -curriculum activities .
Placements: First batch pass out in 2023. Almost 87 percent students was placed. In my course the highest package till now 20 Lacs and the lowest package is 11 Lacs average is 12 Lacs. 90 percentage of students got internship from my course. All are dependent in your interest .
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities here one room is provided for two students and rooms are good as compared to other college here all time Wi-Fi, water and caretakers available. Hostel registration is too easy and only 20000rupees fees per sem for one student with the mess. Medical facilities are available 24 hours.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, almost all faculty members they have done their PhDs from IITs. They are ready to solve the problem whether in class or in extra time. Their way of teaching is best also the way of delivering the content is really good. They ensure that we get all the knowledge they have and go far beyond .
Other: Almost every festival is celebrated Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami, Independence Day and many others. Well there is not so much crowd in campus in regular college but in the fest lot of students from a variety of college of Jammu come and take part in the fest. Campus surroundings are lush green, covered with mountains.

An emerging 3rd-generation IIT with a good future.
Placements: Placements are average compared to other IITs. CSE placements are excellent, with almost all students securing good packages. However, lower branches face some challenges with placements, which is a concern for students. Placement cell is working efficiently to address these issues.
Infrastructure: Hostel provides good basic facilities with very few issues. Lecture halls are well-equipped with modern technologies. Vending machines for snacks are available at various locations. However, the lack of sports grounds is a concern, as there is no cricket ground at present. A new sports complex is currently under construction.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, and the curriculum is manageable. However, the exam schedule is a bit tight, with class tests held before the midterm and end-semester exams. Calculus exams in the first semester are particularly challenging. Achieving an 8 CGPA in the first year is quite difficult.
