IIT Roorkee BSc Courses & Fees 2024: Eligibility, Fees, Placements, Admission Process

IIT Roorkee offers three different scholarships to its BSc students. Each scholarship is aimed at providing financial aid to deserving and meritorious students of the college. Listed below are the available scholarships along with the eligibility criteria:

1. MCM Scholarship 

• Applicant belongs to General or General (EWS) or OBC category.
• Gross Income of parents (Father and Mother or Guardian) during the current assessment year is not more than INR 5,00,000
• Should have obtained at least 60% marks in aggregate or a grade corresponding to 60% marks in the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced

2. Inspire She Scholarship 

• Applicant is a student of Integrated MSc programmes from Department of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
• Gross Income of parents (Father and Mother or - Guardian) during the current assessment year is not more than INR 5,00,000

3. James Thomason Scholarship

Applicant must have secured All India Rank (AIR) in recent JEE (Advanced) up to 250

The total tuition fees for BSc courses at IIT ranges between INR 8 Lacs to INR 10 Lacs for course duration of four-five years, as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is, however, subject to changes and hence, is indicative. Apart from this tuition fees, the college also charges students for few more components mentioned below.

IIT Roorkee concluded its Phase-2 placements in the month of April. However, BSc courses specific data is not available. Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. IIT Roorkee makes the selection based on candidate’s rank according to the merit in JEE Main+ JEE Advanced.
