IIT Ropar offers the GATE fellowship to Indian Nationals pursuing the M.Tech course. The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of INR 12,400, which can be availed for a maximum duration of 24 months.  Recipients of the fellowship are required to contribute eight hours per week to assist the department in various academic activities. These activities may include laboratory demonstrations, tutorials, evaluating assignments and test papers, conducting seminars, and engaging in research projects, among others.

MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG-level course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of  components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech at the institute is INR 34,000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37,200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission.
