Great culture at IIT BHU .
Placements: About 77 percent of Biomedical Engineering got placed last year with the highest package of INR 40 LPA, the lowest package of about INR 13 LPA, and the average package of INR 17 LPA. There were different types of companies hiring in the placement season. Some were hired in the core field of biomedical engineering others (majorly).
Infrastructure: We have many classrooms with decent facilities like charging ports, Wi-Fi etc. While our hostel is great, we have a fast Wi-Fi connection, Washing machines, sending machines, a canteen, and geysers. Our mess is amazing (IIT BHU is known for its amazing mess food). We have more than 20 sports clubs with all the needed infrastructure. Medical facilities are free for IIT students.
Faculty: All the professors here are Ph.D. holders from renowned institutions around the world and are also doing research on their own time. Overall, they create a great environment for learning from the best. The semester exams are not that tough, and almost all the students pass their respective courses.
Other: We have amazing fest at IIT BHU. We majorly have 4-5 fest per year like Saturnalia (DJ night), Bollywood night, spardha ( annual sports meet where many colleges participate including many IITs), and Kashiyatra (a huge cultural fest held in January).

It had a good placement in the year 2023-24 and good academic facilities.
Placements: I am from the electronics branch. It's a circuital branch, so its placement rate is 90% for our batch. Approximately 135 out of 150 students are placed. The highest salary package is approximately 90 LPA, the average salary package is 32 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 16 LPA. From my course, 40%-50% of students get internships. Top roles include ML engineering, SDE, data science, and electronics core.
Infrastructure: All basic facilities are available, such as Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, furnished classrooms, and 24/7 library access. In the hostel, there are some issues, like irregularly hygienic food in the mess and some problems with drinking water. However, with complaints, these issues are noticed and addressed properly.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching methods are a little old, but they are understandable. From the third semester, the course curriculum is relevant. The regular class routine makes students industry-ready. Semester exams become more difficult as you progress to higher semesters. The pass percentage is approximately 40% of the total marks.
Other: I have a lot of interest in electronics and communication technology, so I chose this course. It provides the basic structure of how the modern world will be shaped into a vast world through these modern technologies. There are three fests held in the college every year, one is sports, the second is technical, and the other is cultural.

B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2026

    3Placements2Infrastructure4Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
One of the best IITs in India, but declining due to it's security concerns and infrastructure.
Placements: So, we had a decent placement in the previous-year batch. Approximately 80% placement is seen in the Chemical of IIT BHU, including all the domains. The average package is around 20 lacs. And the mean package remains about 18 lacs. This data is not good as compared to previous batches due to the recession.
Infrastructure: IIT BHU is more than 100 years old, so the conditions of the buildings are not good at all. Lecture theaters are newly built and, hence, in good condition. But the hostels and departments' conditions are not at all satisfactory. But the work is in progress to build new hostels and renovate department buildings.
Faculty: IIT BHU offers one of the most qualified and best faculty members in India. A Ph.D. is the minimum criteria for the professors. Most of the professors are Ph.D.s and research scholars. And talking about the curriculum of the chemical branch, it is easier as compared to branches like electrical and electronics.
Other: The college has a great alumni network, and the placements are very good. But the college lags in its infrastructure and security.

    Extremely well placements.
Placements: The placement and job opportunity is the best in our college among many IITs. We rank 3rd in terms of placement among all the IITs. The average package of IIT BHU is around 20 to 25 Lacs per annum for all the branches and the highest package is 1.2 crore as per 2023-24 stats. The percentage of students getting placed is also very high, which is more than 90 percent. The number of recruiters visiting is more than 300, and the offers made are more than 1000, which is a respectable number in my opinion. My plan after getting a degree is to be placed in a tech company.
Infrastructure: The hostels for freshers are freshly built with neat and clean rooms and bathrooms. There are common rooms with table tennis in them. There is a reading room in the hostel which is open till late at night. The hostel rent is also very affordable, which is 50 thousand per year including mess fee. The mess food is good as compared to many IITs, and there is a canteen facility in the hostel also, which is also very affordable. The hostel also provides the facility of washing machines to wash our clothes with some nominal charges. Students generally prefer to stay in the hostel instead of being in a rented room or PG.
Faculty: In my experience, the faculty is very nice and well-qualified to teach us. They are very smart and intelligent, and many of them are well-focused on research and development in their own subjects. Though one may question the teaching style and method of certain professors, as they need not necessarily be good at teaching but hold immense knowledge of what they teach. Many of them are very passionate about their subject and eager to teach and want you to understand what they know about their subject.
Other: The college life is very vibrant and full of fests and fun. There are 3 major fests at IIT BHU: the biggest one is Kashiyatra, the socio-cultural fest, which happens in the month of January. Our sports fest is Spardha, which is Asia's largest sports fest and happens in the month of October. Then there is Technex, the technical fest. There is a library facility with all types of books, journals, and research papers with AC in the reading halls. Although the classes lack the facility of ACs, which is the downside of IIT BHU. There are many types of groups and clubs at IIT BHU, around 30 clubs, which provide growth opportunities to oneself.

Absolutely satisfied with the hostel facilities and placements.
Placements: 70% of students from pharmaceutical engineering and technology development at IIT BHU were placed in last year. The highest package from the pharmaceutical engineering and technology department is about 50 lacs, and the average package is about 23 lacs. Some of the top recruiters for the Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology department at IIT BHU include: Amazon, American Express, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google, ITC Ltd, Microsoft, Oracle, and PayTM. About 25% of students get internships, but most of them find internships in non-core. The top roles offered are software engineers and web developers in IIT BHU.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the IIT BHU hostel is very good. The hostel is very good; rooms are very big and facilities are the best. There is hostel separate according to yearwise students. All first-year students are living in the same hostel and all are living with quality. Wi-Fi and lawns are also available in every hostel room. Wi-Fi is available in classrooms, labs and libraries. Every facility in the hostel, like the mess, canteen, medical facilities, sports and games, is the best.
Faculty: Every teacher is very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and their qualities are like those of every professor. Yes, our course curriculum is very relevant. Semesters are very chilled in college and everyone enjoyed their college life. There is a very good percentage of students who passed very easily.
Other: This is the course where you learn very much about biology and your life. And this is a very chilled course and you can learn extra things other than your course. Here are too many events, fests, and campus crowding.

Not too disappointed, infrastructure is bad, but placements are the best thing.
Placements: About 68% students got placed in my branch this year, which is quite low according to previous year, top recruiters are Goldmann sach, microsoft, jaguar, tata, Google, etc., the highest this year was 54 LPA, the lowest was 7 LPA; the average was 19 LPA; and if we talk about interns, approx. 20% got intern in adobe, tata, Google, etc.; the top roles were sde, data analyst, finance, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is so poor as it is too old, so you have to compromise with it. Wi-Fi connectivity is good, classrooms are bad, no AC is installed, the library is the best full-air conditioned, hostels are bad, only DG2 is good, the quality of food is good, although. canteens are best open till 4:00 am, the medical facility is good, ambulance support is 24 hours a day, and sports and games facilities are also good.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but they don't want to teach us perfectly. Only a few are good ones; teaching quality is bad. I don't think that the curriculum is relevant; it doesn't make students industry-ready. Ya, but semester exams are tough, and pass percentages in all courses are good, but for a few courses like F.M. and H.M.T., approx. 25% fail each year.
Other: I opt because only I am getting this; the best thing is that it is so tough; teaching quality must improve; ya, festivals are a good thing about it, but only pro nights, not the whole fest.
