It has great college life and placements.
Placements: About 70-80% of students in my course were placed whereas others did not sit for job interviews but rather decided to prepare for government exams. The highest salary package offered is about 40 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 8 LPA. The average salary package offered is 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Google, and Ashok Leyland.
Infrastructure: We have very good Wi-Fi connectivity throughout year. Classrooms are spacious and comfortable. Hostels also have good quality food. Medical facilities are also top-notch. There are very good opportunities for sports and games. Hostel feels just like a home away from home.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated and qualified in their respective fields of research. They are super friendly and supportive. The course curriculum is highly relevant to modern-day research. It makes every one industry ready. Semester exams lie in the range of moderate to tough exams.

What is good about IIT BHU VARANASI.
Placements: In our batch, there are approximately 150 students. As in the recent placement sitting, about 80% got placed this year with an average package of 18 LPA. The highest package in our batch goes up to 50 to 60 LPA. Top recruiting companies include L&T, Tata Construction, etc. Roles offered are site manager, junior engineer, supervisor, chief engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has residential facilities. Our hostel is a seven-storeyed building allotted to second-year students only, which has lift facilities. There is a common hall on each floor. The reading hall is on the ground floor. Two canteens are there, which are open till 4 am. Our hostel has big washrooms and bathrooms with good sanitation. It also has washing machines installed, which provide affordable washing of clothes. Food in the mess is quite good and healthy. We are given three meals a day, starting with breakfast in the morning, followed by lunch and dinner.
Faculty: All the teachers are amazing. Everyone is very experienced and well-qualified. Some professors are notorious for strict attendance policies and for giving low grades but believe me, those who pay attention and study sincerely will get good grades. Teachers are well-qualified researchers. Some have graduated from foreign and were their respective university toppers. The curriculum is very helpful and aligned with the demands of the course. Semester exams are average to hard when comes to difficulty, but you can score good grades just by preparing one week before the exam.
Other: The best thing about this course is that you will have to do a lot of site work. You will not fed up just sitting in a classroom and reading theory. We have many labs that we need to perform on the entire campus, like surveying. We just go outside and continue the learning. We have three fests in our college: one is a tech fest known as Technex, another is a sports fest known as Spardha, and the other is a cultural fest known as Kashi Yatra. You will get a lot of opportunities in terms of scholarships to assist with your academic expenses.

Infrastructure is more or less traditional but college enhanced it.
Placements: First, I would like to apologize for late reply to an A2A. Company: Oracle Inc. Redwood City, USA. I'll answer your question as it states. However, explaining it in terms of placements will not justify my objectives. Aims on entering the college: Well, I had screwed up my IIT-JEE and ended up here with Mining Engg. I had just one thing on my mind and nothing else - branch change, since I was very much interested in computer science. Fortunately, I was able to switch my branch to computer science by the end of my first year. Having done so, my objectives were to explore my interests. This required to be look beyond the curriculum. Journey of preparation: I won't say that I had some explicitly planned journey of preparation. As an enthusiastic CS undergrad, I was more interested in exploring things, and finally figuring out my interests. I pursued a summer research project at DRDO where I had the golden opportunity to interact with AI and security scientists. That's where my interests and research started taking shape. By then, I was sure that intelligent computing and security were my forte. During the internship period at DRDO, I had my first taste of a research publication
Infrastructure: Infrastructure wise ,I exactly do not know how it was 8?9 years back but can give my comparing in respect to what I have heard Internet : As good as anywhere else .Good speed ,no limits etc.etc. Though I have heard this was not the scenario back then. Hostels : Old hostels are still used .But new hostels are being made too .New girls hostel is the best hostel at the moment and its seriously very good .What wouldn't tbe boys give for that balcony. New hostel for freshers(boys) , Aryabhatta ,has been made .And another hostel is in construction while we are at home .(Update : 2 new boys hostels have been made) Sports activity centre: This all indoor games sports activity centre is being made near basketball and volleyball courts in Rajputana Ground . Initially it was to be made by mid next year .Do not know ,the progress right now due to Corona. Rest all the outdoor sports have excellent facilities and coaches .(Updaye :Its complete now ) Labs : I guess they must have been good enough back then too. That's the major major construction I can think of right now going in campus .Minor constructions ,most probably, escape my notice .
Faculty: Professors at IIT BHU (Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University) are generally qualified and experienced, comparable to faculty at other IITs. They typically hold advanced degrees (Ph.D.) from reputable institutions, have significant research contributions, and are involved in various academic and industry collaborations. Like other IITs, IIT BHU emphasizes quality in hiring faculty, including assessments of research output, teaching experience, and contributions to academia. While there may be variations in specific departments or individual faculty members, the overall standard is maintained to ensure a high level of education and research. In summary, professors at IIT BHU are qualified and uphold the academic rigor expected of IIT faculty across India.
Other: Overall a good college but don't expect more.

Extremely well placements.
Placements: The placement and job opportunity is the best in our college among many IITs. We rank 3rd in terms of placement among all the IITs. The average package of IIT BHU is around 20 to 25 Lacs per annum for all the branches and the highest package is 1.2 crore as per 2023-24 stats. The percentage of students getting placed is also very high, which is more than 90 percent. The number of recruiters visiting is more than 300, and the offers made are more than 1000, which is a respectable number in my opinion. My plan after getting a degree is to be placed in a tech company.
Infrastructure: The hostels for freshers are freshly built with neat and clean rooms and bathrooms. There are common rooms with table tennis in them. There is a reading room in the hostel which is open till late at night. The hostel rent is also very affordable, which is 50 thousand per year including mess fee. The mess food is good as compared to many IITs, and there is a canteen facility in the hostel also, which is also very affordable. The hostel also provides the facility of washing machines to wash our clothes with some nominal charges. Students generally prefer to stay in the hostel instead of being in a rented room or PG.
Faculty: In my experience, the faculty is very nice and well-qualified to teach us. They are very smart and intelligent, and many of them are well-focused on research and development in their own subjects. Though one may question the teaching style and method of certain professors, as they need not necessarily be good at teaching but hold immense knowledge of what they teach. Many of them are very passionate about their subject and eager to teach and want you to understand what they know about their subject.
Other: The college life is very vibrant and full of fests and fun. There are 3 major fests at IIT BHU: the biggest one is Kashiyatra, the socio-cultural fest, which happens in the month of January. Our sports fest is Spardha, which is Asia's largest sports fest and happens in the month of October. Then there is Technex, the technical fest. There is a library facility with all types of books, journals, and research papers with AC in the reading halls. Although the classes lack the facility of ACs, which is the downside of IIT BHU. There are many types of groups and clubs at IIT BHU, around 30 clubs, which provide growth opportunities to oneself.

Highly qualified faculty, excellent placements and outstanding infrastructure.
Placements: The 2023 civil engineering branch consisted 140 students and placements was 85 percent. The highest was 24 LPA and the lowest was 6 LPA and average was 10.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were L&T, TATA, Afcons infrastructure, AECOM, IOCL, ONGC and PSUs. And 90% students got their internships in the same companies. The common roles were project manager, design engineer, site engineer, transportation engineer, consultant, research and development engineer.
Infrastructure: The civil engineering department at IIT BHU offers modern facilities and infra for academic excellence. These facilities include: - Equipped classrooms - Advanced labs - Extensive libraries - high-speed Wi-fi - Research facility - Computer center - Super computing lab Hostels provide comfortable accommodation with nutritious meals, CCTV camera security, medical facilities, sports facilities and ensure students well being.
Faculty: At IIT BHU civil engineering department offers highly qualified and supportive faculty, ensuring a very high standard of teaching quality. Most professors have done their education from foreign universities and having extensive teaching experience. The curriculum is industry relevant preparing students for real world challenges. Semester exams are rigorous but fair and tough with competitive pass percentage fostering academic excellence.
Other: I chose civil because my rank was not enough for computer Science, initially I thought I would switch to computer Science but later I realized that people from non CS background can also get a job in IT companies if their coding skills are good. I wish there was less field and laboratory work and students can have more time working on their skills. There are many fests every year from culture to sports to technical to domain specific (business, entrepreneurship, marketing etc.). .
