I got the chance to study at this prestigious university.
Placements: The placement cell of the college is strong. They train students with a series of interviews and aptitude tests before attending real interviews with the companies. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA and the lowest is about 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies for aerospace engineering are HAL and NAL. Every student can get an internship in every branch. I recently started doing an internship at IBM in machine learning with Python.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is world-class and the facilities are top-notch. Wi-Fi is available 24*7 with a 1,000 Mbps speed. Classrooms are well furnished and well maintained by the cleaning staff in the college. The library contains books from all over the world and research papers by students and teachers. The quality of food in the mess is good. The food is basically vegetarian. The college provides support for sports and other entertainment.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are professors who have completed their PhDs in their domains. They understand their students and help them overcome their difficulties in studying. The curriculum is relevant and easy. They provide TLEP of every course before starting so that the students can get a clear idea of the course outcomes and objectives. The semester exam is average. A student who attends class every day can pass the exam with a 70% score. The pass percentage is about 60%.
Other: I chose this course because I like space and spaceships. The best thing about the courses at this college is the lab and apparatus. Recently, the college hosted the Khelo India University Games 2022. Our college got a NAAC A+ from the accreditation team, and 5 of our courses got NBA accreditation.

Review of Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jain
Placements: Hardly 10 out of hundreds of aerospace and aeronautical engineering students were placed in core companies. Covid 19 and online classes have affected the placements drastically. The highest salary package offered was around 10 LPA which is for a business development associate role, which isn't even related to our field. Most of the average roles are of associate software engineer, which again is for CS/IS students, but we are being offered. The lowest packages offered are for 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are UAV manufacturing or service companies. Maybe around 45% of our classmates would have got internships. Some of the roles offered in our course are design engineer, flight test engineer, UAV Pilot, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. We have a beautiful campus spread across around 300 acres. There are 3 seperate buildings for aerospace engineering, CS specialisations and for all the remaining engineering branches. Classrooms, library, and labs are well set up. There are 2 sharing and 4 sharing hostels. Food served in the mess is decent. There's pretty much every time of sport available for students to play, but priority will be given to college team students. Others can play only when the ground or court is free.
Faculty: We have one of the most experienced and knowledgeable faculty members in our college. Some of them have worked in ISRO, BHEL, HAL, and other places. But there are also some teachers who have just 2-3 years of teaching experience. The curriculum makes students industry-ready. As far as I know, these companies expect a lot from us during placements, things we wouldn't have heard of. So that's a minus point. The course curriculum isn't in-depth.
Other: I chose this course because it is one of the best engineering courses offered at Jain University at the time I joined. The best thing about the course is, we'll be taken to 10 days industrial visit to IIT Kanpur for flight lab and we'll be doing experiments while in flight. This lab exam marks will be added to the 6th sem marks. Unfortunately, our batch missed it because of covid and we did it online. I think placement cell needs to be still active and get us good Aerospace companies. We have a fest called Infinity, which will be amazing. There will be around 3-4 thousand students anytime on campus. We'll have to walk a lot from building to building or to out of campus. Course fee will be reduced up to Rs. 15,000 per year if you get a seat through Jain Entrance Test (JET). It's an autonomous university, so there's no government seat or CET. Hostel costs around 1-2lakh per year (differs for 2 sharing and 4 sharing) Transportation costs around Rs. 45000-Rs. 50,000 per year, only if you stay in Bangalore. You can come by KSRTC government buses too from Bangalore on your own. Bus passes would cost around 1000-2000 per year. Course fee is 2.10 LPA. It's going to cost 8 LPA - 14 LPA approximately depending on what you opt, for the whole course for 4 years in total.
