It is a top engineering college.
Placements: Placements provided by the college were useful for us to enhance our engineering career. The special placement department flourishing in our college consists of a placement officer, aptitude trainers, and soft skill trainers who provide training from the second year onwards.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The canteen provides Kerala and Tamilnadu food items with neat surroundings. There are highly secured hostels for girls and boys. ATM facilities are available at the doorstep of the campus. There are smart classrooms with projectors and LCD screens for presentation classes.
Faculty: Our college provides an outcome-based education which enhances our engineering knowledge. Tutor hours are utilised by solving previous year question papers, which is helpful for our Anna University exams. There are experienced teachers who guide us at any time.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty, but dissatisfied with the hostel.
Placements: 70% of the students in my course are placed in good companies with a good salary. 25k to 35k is the average package. IBM, Dell, and Infosys are the top recruiters. 95% of students got internships. VLSI designer is the top role offered in my course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good for my department; there is no problem with that. But the hostel is not good; it is okay for counseling students because the fee structure is very low for the hostel. It is the worst for management students.
Faculty: The faculty was very good. The teachers were more helpful in helping students score higher marks in semester exams; they are well qualified with Ph.D. and they were more knowledgeable. The teaching quality was very good. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. The college is autonomous, so the semester exams are very easy.
Other: I love the ECE department so I chose the ECE department .

One of the best engineering colleges.
Placements: Placement training is provided in the college from the second year onwards at free of cost. Salary packages offered by the companies are around 2-3 LPA. The college placements department is inviting core companies for placements, and internships are also provided.
Infrastructure: There are well-equipped laboratory facilities. The classrooms are well-furnished, and each department consists of a department library with lots of books. Tamilnadu and Kerala food items are provided at the canteen. The campus is eco-friendly, and smart classrooms are being facilitated in each department.
Faculty: Experienced teachers are available on the campus. They provide guidance at any time. The faculty to student ratio was 1:15, and the course curriculum was useful for us. Our department is providing outcome-based education, and everything is the best.

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.E. / B.Tech at JCT College of Engineering?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum for BE/BTech in Petroleum Engineering at JCT College

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the course curriculum:

* Lack of Practical Knowledge: Many students felt that the course focused more on theoretical aspects and did not provide sufficient practical knowledge, making it challenging for them to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
* Relevance to Industry Needs: Some students mentioned that the course curriculum does not align with the requirements of the industry, resulting in a lack of employability among graduates.
* Teaching Quality: While some faculty members were knowledgeable and helpful, others lacked practical experience and teaching skills, leading to ineffective classroom interactions.
* Syllabus Completion: Students reported that their professors often failed to cover the entire syllabus, leaving important topics unaddressed and creating difficulties during examinations.
* Emphasis on Mugging Up: The emphasis on rote memorization and mugging up rather than conceptual understanding and critical thinking was a common complaint among students.
* Placement Records: While some students secured decent placements, many others faced challenges in finding employment, citing poor placement records and inadequate corporate connections.

It appears that the course curriculum at JCT College requires significant revisions to address these concerns and ensure that students receive a balanced education that prepares them for the demands of the industry.
