Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   I got 14513 rank in TS EAMCET (obc). Can I get seat in JNTUH.

A:
Based on the previous year's cutoff, a rank of 14513 in TS EAMCET under the OBC category may not be sufficient to get a seat in the B.Tech programs at JNTUH. However, the cutoff varies every year, and it is difficult to predict the exact cutoff for the current academic year. The cutoff for admission to the B.Tech programs at JNTUH through TS EAMCET varies every year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, the availability of seats, and the category of the candidate. It is difficult to predict the exact cutoff for the current academic year. However, based on the previous year's cutoff, the minimum TS EAMCET rank required for admission to the B.Tech programs at JNTUH was around 20,000 to 25,000 for the general category, and for the OBC category, the cutoff was around 30,000 to 35,000. Please note that the cutoff varies every year, and it is advisable to check the official website of JNTUH or the TS EAMCET counselling website for the latest cutoff ranks. Also, meeting the cutoff rank does not guarantee admission to the programme as the final seat allotment depends on the availability of seats, the candidate's preference, and other factors.

Beyond the Brochure: What JNTUH Offers.
Placements: Overall, 70% of the students get placed in JNTU. The highest package offered is 14 CTC and the lowest is 4 LPA, with the average being about 8 LPA. The top recruiting companies in my discipline are Ashok Leyland, L&T, JSW, and Vedanta. The placement cell office in our college helps us get placements.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is very good, as the departments are very spacious. We have 3 girls' hostels and 3 boys' hostels in our college, and they are only for the B.Tech students. We even have an international hostel for international students. The hostel fees are also lower compared to private hostels. We have two libraries in our college. A Wi-Fi facility is also there. We have an indoor stadium for indoor games and a ground for outdoor games. We have a healthcare center on our campus.
Faculty: The faculty here are very down to earth. We can discuss any doubts regarding our career and placements with them. The lab facilities are very good for core branches compared to other colleges. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but we can ace them.
Other: The reason why I chose this college is that JNTUH is the best college out there for core branches like mechanical, civil, chemical, and metallurgy. We can learn more here about our core branches. We have student clubs where students can participate and learn about their interests. They even conduct events for us to showcase our talent. Every year, a technical fest is conducted where students can learn more about organizing an event, and they can also learn more about their discipline.

The campus placements is good.
Placements: 78% of students placed in top companies. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra. Around 60% of students got internships. The top roles are automobile engineer, process engineer, and tool engineer.
Infrastructure: The hotel facilities were very good. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the food was good. The campus has a solid infrastructure for B.Tech, including well-equipped labs, Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms, and a pretty good library.
Faculty: The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The teachers were qualified to teach us, having 6 to 8 years of experience. They were very knowledgeable and the quality of their teaching was good. The semester exams strike a good balance, maintaining a 70% pass rate.

Average student experience at JNTU.
Placements: 50%+ of students are placed in our mechanical course. The highest package offered is 23 Lacs, while the average is 7 Lacs. Top recruiters are Tata. 80%+ of students are placed in internships. All IT and core mechanical companies are offering internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided in our classroom are benches, a green board, a clean floor, a duster, colored chalks, decent fans and lights, a clean and decent-looking classroom. The library has covered all books up to date and is wide, spacious, not too crowded, and very peaceful. Computers are also provided in the library. The whole campus has Wi-Fi available. The entire hostel has Wi-Fi facilities. The quality of food in terms of nutrition is 4.5/5; in terms of taste, it is average. Medical facilities include a health center building with an ambulance. Regarding sports, it is based on the students' interest; there are coaches for every sport, a separate ground for each sport, and equipment provided by the coaches during playtime. We have an indoor stadium with a swimming pool, gym, table tennis, meditation room, yoga room, along with basketball and badminton courts in the center.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is rated 4/5. Different faculty members approach situations differently. Our current course is not preparing students to be industry-ready. The difficulty level of semester exams varies among students. The pass percentage is 3%.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in learning about moving things. I wish they would include more labs to make us industry-ready. There are events celebrated by the whole campus (Annual day) and branch-wise (freshers day, Technical fest, etc.). The campus crowd is not too high; the campus is wide enough. However, we cannot roam freely everywhere as there are many restrictions. For connectivity, we have student clubs. The campus is in the center of Hyderabad city, and everything is available at the boundaries of the college. The scholarship offered is 35,000 INR (from the Eamcet exam).

The college is better than you expect. It is the best college from EAMCET perspective.
Placements: The students at JNTU college are provided with placements training from the second semester. Maximum students of JNTU get placed. Many Multi National companies come as recruiters here. The highest package at JNTU is 50 LPA which changes every year. The average package is 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college and the hostels is very bad. The lab equipments are also very old. The best part is that the students have access to multiple libraries here for every branch along with a college library and a university library. The university library is very big. The computer labs are also separately present in every branch.
Faculty: The professors here are very good and have high knowledge in their respective fields. All the members of the faculty have Ph.Ds in their respective field. They support us in every field of study. The exams here are conducted thrice for theory and twice for labs. The curriculum is very relevant to the course and outside world.

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for M.E./M.Tech at JNTUH College of Engineering?

A:
{Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum

* The course curriculum is a bit troublesome, with less time for practical technical skill building, making students less prepared for the industry. (Source: Review 14)
* However, the revised curriculum for junior batches is well-designed, providing ample time to build industry-relevant skills. (Source: Review 32)
* The course curriculum is relevant, making students industry-ready. (Source: Reviews 21, 36, 49)
* Some subjects in the course need to be updated to make students more practical than theoretical. (Source: Review 54)
* The faculty suggests that students rely on external resources, such as YouTube, to supplement their learning. (Source: Review 46)

Practical Knowledge

* The course focuses on theoretical knowledge, leaving students without practical exposure. (Source: Review 2
* The lack of application knowledge and site visits makes students feel unprepared for the industry. (Source: Review 3

Industry Relevance

* The course curriculum is designed to meet industry standards, providing students with relevant skills. (Source: Review 42)
* Students are encouraged to participate in industrial projects and training programs to gain hands-on experience. (Not mentioned in reviews)

Improvements Needed

* The course curriculum should be modified to include more practical knowledge and site visits. (Sources: Reviews 11, 23, 51)
* Elective subjects should be introduced to allow students to explore topics of interest. (Source: Review 55)

Overall, while the course curriculum has its limitations, it seems to be generally relevant and prepares students for the industry. However, improvements can be made to increase the focus on practical knowledge and industry relevance.
