Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   I got 14513 rank in TS EAMCET (obc). Can I get seat in JNTUH.

A:
Based on the previous year's cutoff, a rank of 14513 in TS EAMCET under the OBC category may not be sufficient to get a seat in the B.Tech programs at JNTUH. However, the cutoff varies every year, and it is difficult to predict the exact cutoff for the current academic year. The cutoff for admission to the B.Tech programs at JNTUH through TS EAMCET varies every year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, the availability of seats, and the category of the candidate. It is difficult to predict the exact cutoff for the current academic year. However, based on the previous year's cutoff, the minimum TS EAMCET rank required for admission to the B.Tech programs at JNTUH was around 20,000 to 25,000 for the general category, and for the OBC category, the cutoff was around 30,000 to 35,000. Please note that the cutoff varies every year, and it is advisable to check the official website of JNTUH or the TS EAMCET counselling website for the latest cutoff ranks. Also, meeting the cutoff rank does not guarantee admission to the programme as the final seat allotment depends on the availability of seats, the candidate's preference, and other factors.

It is good in terms of faculty members and infrastructure. Placements are not up to the mark.
Placements: About 50% of students from our course get placed. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS and Wipro visit our college for placements. An internship was acquired by only 20% of students from our course in companies like Phenom, Aakash, and BYJU'S. The top roles offered are associate engineers and educators for schools and colleges.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, well-structured classrooms, and a library are available with tidy surroundings. The food served is not the best but better. It has a health center and a well-maintained sports complex. It has games like basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, cricket, badminton, squash, table tennis, gymnasium, swimming pool, and carrom.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. Few teachers teaching quality is not up to par. The course curriculum is properly planned. The difficulty level of exams is more, and the pass percentage is 30%. The correction of the semester exams is very pathetic and unethical. They fail the students in a way it looks they made it wanted.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was interested in civil engineering at the time of admission. I also wanted to complete my master's within 5years saving 1 year of time. But during the course, I eventually shifted my interest into the business domain.

It is one of the best colleges in Telangana with good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placements in CS and IT fields are good. It is difficult for students from core departments like civil and mechanical to get placed in their own fields unless they have the zeal, determination, and hard work to get placed in their own core fields. Most of the students are trying for placements, and they get placed mostly in the IT sector.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in a few places on the campus, like in the main building, a few spots in hostels and departments. Labs are well-equipped, and classrooms are spacious. Few of them are equipped with projectors. Libraries are well-equipped with required books. The canteen is good, but it is not good now after Covid. The university hospital is available, and an indoor stadium and playgrounds are available.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are helpful, qualified, knowledgeable, and well-experienced in their respective fields. I suggest not to expect spoon-feeding from all of them. If you are a good student, you can grasp as much knowledge as you can. The curriculum is average. Semester exams are easy to moderate, but passing is moderate to difficult.
Other: Hostels maintenance could be improved. You can't currently find good food like meals for lunch if you are a day scholar who forgot lunch, so the canteen has to be improved too. The process of paying the fee is a tedious and hard thing to do as there is no online facility available. You have to roam all over the campus just to pay the fee.

A place to enhance our skills and knowledge. We can really know how life will be.
Placements: More than 40% of students in our course got placed in top companies based on graduation and also management course. The average salary package offered is 4.2 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Some of the companies like TCS, Torrent Gas, eLogic Tech offered positions in their organisations in business development teams, software development teams mainly. Most of the students, i.e., about 70%, are being offered internships in these companies mainly as trainees with a chance of continuing as a permanent employee.
Infrastructure: The students of our course are being offered many facilities in low expenditure, like high-speed Wi-Fi on the entire campus. Labs with the best software are available here which are continuously updated. There are the best laboratories in both UG and PG parts of course. There is a library for the college and also for the university.
Faculty: Teachers here were quite helpful in terms of gaining knowledge. They were qualified from IIITs, and they hold their doctor of philosophy from IITs as well. Teaching quality is excellent in terms of practical knowledge, memory-based knowledge. The curriculum will prepare almost all the students and make them ready to face any interview for the industry.
Other: My course is a civil engineering course in which there are many possibilities to gain practical knowledge. There is nothing to improve in our course as of now. It is perfect. The technical fest is conducted where we spend quality time. Usually, fests are held in March every year. The technical fest named as Sthapatya for the civil engineering department.

Not really satisfied placements are not good but infrastructure is good.
Placements: Twenty percent of students only got placed in my course. The highest salary offered is 12lpa, average 5lpa and the lowest is 3lpa. Top recruiting company of my course is no company only software companies are recruiting. The highest and the lowest package offered in my course is 3lpa. Zero percent got internship from our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my department is good and unique facility provided is library which is not provided in other departments. Wi-Fi is good and classrooms are well-equipped. The hostel facilities are not good, food taste is so bad that we can't eat and there are no much medical facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable but teaching quality is not good there is a communication gap between the teachers and students, their quality of teaching is not good. The course curriculum is relevant but students are not well trained they won't be getting practical knowledge.
Other: I choose this course mainly on the basis of college but later on I have got interest in subjects by reading a lot of books. Training the faculty would improve the course better. There are many events and fests conducted but of no use they give preference to cultural but not subject point of view.

I am not much satisfied with the college.
Placements: Almost 25% of the students get placed. The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA, the average salary package offered is 5.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T and Accenture. Top roles offered are major project comprehensive viva challenging activities. The highest salary package offered in our course is 7.5 LPA, the average salary package offered in our course is 5.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered in our course is 3.5 LPA. Almost 60% of the students get placed in companies like Preca, Ramco, government project of consultancy Anusha projects, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities are quite good and admirable in college. There is Wi-Fi in the hostel. There are labs with good instruments. There are good classrooms. The quality of the food provided is average. The canteen quality is below average. There are average medical facilities in the college. There are good sports and games at the college. There is a library, which is well constructed and maintained.
Faculty: Teachers here are not helpful and up to the mark. Faculty here are well qualified and knowledgeable, but they won't execute with laziness. The course curriculum is relevant but not par. It makes students industry-ready with a high profile.
Other: I choose this course because of the shortage of our course and span of course completion in 5 years instead of 6years. The things I wish would be better are placements, response, quality of food, maintainance and teaching. The college well organises the events and fest. The campus crowd is high, and there is good connectivity. Campus surrounding is highly abundant and classified in well-located area. The college provides scholarship to students. There are extracurricular activities in the college.

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for M.E./M.Tech at JNTUH College of Engineering?

A:
{Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum

* The course curriculum is a bit troublesome, with less time for practical technical skill building, making students less prepared for the industry. (Source: Review 14)
* However, the revised curriculum for junior batches is well-designed, providing ample time to build industry-relevant skills. (Source: Review 32)
* The course curriculum is relevant, making students industry-ready. (Source: Reviews 21, 36, 49)
* Some subjects in the course need to be updated to make students more practical than theoretical. (Source: Review 54)
* The faculty suggests that students rely on external resources, such as YouTube, to supplement their learning. (Source: Review 46)

Practical Knowledge

* The course focuses on theoretical knowledge, leaving students without practical exposure. (Source: Review 2
* The lack of application knowledge and site visits makes students feel unprepared for the industry. (Source: Review 3

Industry Relevance

* The course curriculum is designed to meet industry standards, providing students with relevant skills. (Source: Review 42)
* Students are encouraged to participate in industrial projects and training programs to gain hands-on experience. (Not mentioned in reviews)

Improvements Needed

* The course curriculum should be modified to include more practical knowledge and site visits. (Sources: Reviews 11, 23, 51)
