JEC B.Tech mechanical engineering review.
Placements: There is a good placement opportunity in our college. 40-50% of the students get placed every year in top companies such as OIL, Infosys, TCS, Vedanta, etc. The average package in our college ranges from 4-7 LPA for almost all branch students. Till now, the highest package offered is 18 LPA and the lowest is 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good enough. The college provides many courses and has well-established departments for each branch. Every classroom has projectors and internet connectivity. The college also has a library that contains many books. There are also labs necessary for each branch. Every hostel room is provided with a bed, table, and chair. Chicken is served two to three days a week, fish once a week, and eggs two days a week. The food quality is also good and quite satisfying. Medical help is also provided by the hostel. Every hostel has its own playground, and interested students can play any sports they want.
Faculty: The faculty members of the college are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. There are many labs and workshops that are sufficient to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are moderately challenging, with a pass percentage ranging from 80-90%.

It is a good government college with average placements.
Placements: Placements are good in our college. The placement percentage of the CSE course is 100%. Around 60% of students got placed in our college. Companies like OIL, NRL, and BCPL visit our college. Some IT companies like Wipro, ITC, Infotech, and Dish Network Technologies visit our college for placements.
Infrastructure: Hostels are old. The infrastructure of our college is not very good. There are many hostel seats for boys. There are limited seats for girls. Students get hostel seats according to their CEE ranks. Our college and hostel gates close at 7 pm. Students are not allowed to enter the college after 7 pm. The hostel students are not allowed to go outside after 7 pm.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. We have three internal exams per semester. The final semester exams are conducted after the internal exams. The pass percentage is 30%. Around 70% of marks are taken for the evaluation.
Other: Our college should improve its infrastructure as it is not good. It provides a good exposure.

Review of Jorhat Engineering College.
Placements: Our college provides good placements for our course. More than 40% of students get placed every year in top companies like OIL, NRL, AEGCL, IGCL, Vedanta, TCS, etc. Some students got placed in our college with a salary package of 14 LPA.

Faculty: Faculty members and professors are highly qualified. Most of them are Ph.D. holders from IITs. They are M.Tech qualified. The course curriculum is designed by ASTU. It is structured scientifically. Our college provides competitive study environment.

Overall good placements. Dissatisfied with the infrastructure and teaching quality.
Placements: From my collected Information about 20 to 30 students out of 80 to 90 were placed from mechanical branch. Many students take their placement in IT sector company. Only 2 to 4 students are recruited to better company or PSU like OIL, NRL, vedanta etc. for INR 12 to 14 LPA. Average package offered is INR 4 to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructures are average from my point of view. I think there need to be more improvement in case of infrastructure development. I think you will feel the same when you study here. Free internet is available for both hostellers and PG students. Classroom structure must improve though.
Faculty: To be honest, teachers are knowledgeable and qualified but most of the teachers are moving on the old path of teaching. There is a lack of engagement between student and teacher. Teachers are so helpful. New astu courses are not relevant for other competitive exams. DU courses were good enough. Semester exams are not so much difficult but subjects topic are vast while there is lack of time to teach properly .
Other: Being a state engineering college you will see a huge difference between AEC and JEC in all cases. Hostels are good .

Satisfied and happy. Placements are good in recent years. Excellent facilities and value for money.
Placements: JEC has been always a one step ahead in case of placement as compared to other government engineering colleges. Companies like Oil India Limited, ONGC, Vedanta etc. Recruits top 15-20 candidates every year from Mechanical branch. Normally every year 65% of the students from Mechanical branch are placed in top IT companies.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are On par with private institutions. There is separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. Food is good with chicken every week for two days. The classrooms are well decorated with projector for better understanding. The college is provided with excellent laboratories and heavy machinery for better grasp of the courses. Also the college provide workshop areas which helps students build objects like engines, nut bolts etc. Sports and games are held often which include online games like bgmi, valorant etc.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Some having teaching experience of 15+ years. The course is relevant but however the stuffs are more of theoretical rather than practical. However the course become practical in later semesters. Jec conducts 3 unit tests where the student become exam ready for final semester exam and hence overall percentile becomes quite good for the whole batch. The courses do Make the student industry ready but it's not on par with IITs and NITs.
Other: Mechanical batch is divided into two sections with 40 students in each. There is a healthy competition among the students along with helping each other to perform better each day. Recently held fest Phoenix was applauded by everyone. Many scholarship programs are available for general as well for scheduled castes. The courses are good as recommended by astu but there is a lot of unnecessary studies and less activities to perform in the course itself. So I personally think as a branch of mechanical it should be a little practical rather than theoretical .
