Reviewing KIT College of Engineering.
Placements: Overall, the percentage required to get placed in this course is above 70%. The highest package offered till now is 10 Lacs per annum and the lowest is 4 Lacs per annum. The companies such as Cognizant, Biocon, etc. come for placements. The roles of Genetic engineer, microbiologist, etc. are given.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good and big. The labs are well equipped and furnished. All the labs have CCTV cameras as well as Wi-Fi available. The hostel rooms are best and clean. The food provided in the hostel is good. Medical facilities are also good here. There are many sports games which take place such as cricket, football, etc.
Faculty: Overall, the faculty and the curriculum is good as compared to the other colleges. Every faculty member encourages us to ask doubts and they try their best to solve our doubts. Our curriculum is based on today’s needs which helps us to get a hands on experience at daily needs. The exams are conducted twice being mid sem and end sem exams.
Other: I chose this course because I like to study and know about Biology and other biological things. The college organises each year several events which are the best. The campus of college is also the best and is surrounded with lots of trees, etc.

The best college in Kolhapur region, but the courses should be updated.
Placements: This year, the NBA committee has given the highest marks for biotech in terms of placements. This year (2018-19 batch), 3 students got placed through campus interviews. Only on-campus interviews are conducted in the college. Most of the interviews are conducted at the company itself. Almost all the students opted for higher studies or placements. Due to less competition, the placements are good, but the starting packages are around 1.5-4 LPA only.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The central library has a large number of books. It also has a reading section, magazine and periodical section and references section. Labs in the biotech department are equipped with all required equipment, but some instruments are not working properly. All the classrooms have a blackboard and a projector. Water is not available in the hostel most of the time.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful. Almost 40% of the faculty in every department are PhD holders, but some teachers don't have enough knowledge. They all teach using the projector. In the biotech department, 3 industrial visits and 30-day industrial training are mandatory. Other departments also conduct industrial visits.
Other: Pioneer is a technical event organised by the students every year. Meraki (gathering) is also organised. A talent show is conducted where you can showcase your talent. Sports events are conducted.

Little away from the city life, offer less distractions and a peaceful environment for studies.
Placements: Strictly speaking about the biotech department, since the college was started by industrialists, it had always been ahead when it comes to the application of knowledge in industries. Most of the students apply for M.Tech or MS and have secured a place in reputed colleges like John Hopkins University, University College Dublin, IIT-B, ICT, etc., because the students seeking a job immediately after BE are less in number, there are no campus placements. However, the network of the faculty and HOD is superb, and almost all the students seeking job are placed in various industries like Biocon, DD Enterprises, Addison's lab, Lupin, etc. These companies trust us and prefer recruiting students from our college. Since the maximum break you get between two semesters is 1 month, nobody gives you a paid internship. However, students apply for training or unpaid internships in various industries, organisations, etc.
Infrastructure: The biotech department is a two storey building. The classrooms are spacious. There are 5 laboratories in the department covering subjects like unit operations, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, enzyme technology, immunology, genetic engineering, etc. Labs are well-equipped as well. The instruments like spectrophotometers, autoclave, incubator, centrifuge, compound and phase contrast microscopes, laminar air flow are used. Comparing the labs with other institutes offering biotechnology engineering course in Maharashtra, our college has the best labs.
Faculty: The faculty are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They have a lot of papers published in journals of high impact factors. They have few patents to their name. The teachers do their best to teach various concepts. They are helpful. The teaching-learning process is mainly carried out by powerpoint presentations along with discussions, paper presentation, etc. Alumni network is extremely good. There are industry-institute interactions as well. Industrial visits, training, workshops and internships give us industry exposure.
Other: The campus is located on the NH-4 highway, 7km away from the centre of Kolhapur city. There is a bus stop nearby. Buses and sometimes autorickshaws are the only mode of transport. If a student has a private vehicle, it is well and good. Events are a part of college life, and here, you get an opportunity to actively participate in a lot of events like MUN, TEDx, overnight sky observations, etc. The technical fest includes a paper presentation, poster presentation and a lot of other national level events and few non-technical events as well. Whereas, the cultural fest is a great platform to showcase your talent in music, dance, art or any other talents. The college crowd comprises localites and students from all over Maharashtra. It is a 0% ragging institute. Workshops and seminar on a variety of topics are conducted frequently. The college also has committees like NCC department, NSS department, entrepreneurship-cell, etc.

The best infrastructure with very helpful faculty.
Placements: Placements are good. Many companies such as CPC diagnostics Chennai, Amazon Pune, etc. come for placement. Besides, proper guidance is given if we have to go for the interview outside. Almost 80% students got placed in our batch in different posts such as intern, R and D, marketing, etc.
Infrastructure: The total area of the college is about 28 acres with separate infrastructure for each department. Also, it has a big library. Wi-Fi is all over the college with good speed. Two canteens are there with good food quality. Also, a big playground is there along with great parking space.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and each and every faculty are well qualified (master's/PhD). Each doubt is cleared by the faculty. Also, the non-teaching staff is very helpful. Teaching by projector involving various informational videos is applied for easy understanding. Also, in the 3rd-year, industry exposure is provided.

The best college for biotechnology in western Maharashtra region.
Placements: Seniors and juniors were placed in good companies, in our batch 2-3 were placed. The companies like Lupin visited while most of the students opted for the off-campus. Many opted for off post-graduation and selected in the better universities. As a city away from the biotechnology hub, the placements were hampered still the quality of education helped in the off-campus selections.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility was offered 4G. There is a speciality of more than 100 labs(Biotechnology), and the classrooms with a capacity of more than the intake. The central library with the computer facilities, the sports and games including basketball, cricket, football are there on the campus. With the availability of departments on the hilltop and shallow level, it comprises the best campus to study. Supporting weather and the environment was one of the features.
Faculty: Thinking out of the box was employed, and experimental approach was appreciated. The faculty members were well-qualified with M.Tech, M.S, and PhD. The industrial visits and rigorous training were helpful. The curriculum designed is coupled with the industrial requirements.
