Our college provides a great environment to learn and grow.
Placements: Companies like Amazon, Zoho, etc., visit our college for our course placement. The salary packages offered are quite good for a beginner. But the percentage of students who get placed is quite low because most of the companies hire only a handful of people. Roles like data analyst, content writer, creative writer, HR, etc., are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: Our college has a good library, and it caters to the needs of the students. Our department has a separate library. The college has a hostel facility within the campus and traditionally called halls for both boys and girls. The halls accommodate the majority of the non-day scholars.
Faculty: Professors in our college are great, and they have a great passion for teaching. Most of the faculty members are qualified. They are qualified from reputed universities and colleges. You won't feel like missing a class because they conduct the lectures in a great way. The course structure deals with various topics in an elaborate manner, and it is relevant to the study of English literature as well as the English language.

MCC Insider: the ins and outs of campus life.
Placements: We don't really have many companies visiting our department to poach students for jobs considering the course is English language and literature. Most students go on to their higher studies to become professors. Infact a majority of professors in the faculty are MCC alum.
Infrastructure: The campus is one of the biggest in the country with the second the largest scrub jungle in Asia. All the buildings are spread out, it's very easy to get lost here. Beautiful old fashioned architecture, a plethora of trees and wild life such as deer, monkeys, butterflies, etc. The classrooms are large and open walled to the gardens. There are six hostels on campus, three for boys and three for girls. We have a well-equipped clinic with an in house nurse and doctor round the clock. There is an impressive and large library. The computer labs are up to date.
Faculty: The English department professors of the morning shift are all very well learnt and distinguished people of high Calibre. The quality of our lecterurs are more than satisfactory. The curriculum is quite engaging and not too dry barring some ancient poetry that we must study in excruciating detail. We study Indian and foreign authors, modern poets and the classics aswell like Shakespeare and Jane Austen. We also put some focus on grammar and linguistics, prosody and retoric for an understanding of the language itself. It is a well rounded course to give you a strong grasp on English the language and its literature.
Other: The college is known for hosting multiple events during the academic year. Each hostel has a concert within weeks of each other in the beginning of the academic year after which we have the famous intercollegiate fest called deepwoods which is a huge event. In the second half of the year, every department in the college hosts a department fest aswell making MCC a very fun place to be, considering the constant flow of activity.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of this college are really nice. There is free Wi-Fi available, and our classrooms are hyperventilated. There are also mess and sports facilities available over here.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and their teaching quality is good comparatively. The semester exam is not that difficult.
Other: I choose this course because I find it quite relevent towards my choice.

Review of MCC - Madras Christian College.
Placements: About 24% of students in our course got placed in various jobs. The salary offered to students was Rs. 8,000 per month, and for freelance content writers, the salary offered was Rs. 14,000/- per month. The salary offered for students also depends on their work-load. Roles like notion press and various other content writing services are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: It has a long history of having one of the first colleges in India, started by the Scottish missionaries. Our department library has specific books that are proven to be useful for any undergraduate or postgraduate student. The college provides three boys, hostels and 3 girls hostels for students.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are all well versed in their fields. They have knowledge of literature and an excellent grasp of the language. The curriculum has been a tried and tested set of syllabi. From the undergraduate to postgraduate level, the syllabus is rather good.
Other: The freedom of expression that one can find in this college is like no other. Nothing should be improved. Madras Christian College has a history of being famous for conducting its cultural events. Deepwoods are conducted every year, with each succeeding year being bigger and better.
