Satisfied with the college. Above-average placements and really good seniors as well.

Placements: Placement of Mechanical engineering department is 100% this year the highest Package 18 LPA and the lowest one 5 LPA 20-30% students got internship this year. Most of students got placement by PPO and internships. I don't remember correctly the names of top recruiting companies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, two libraries, and classrooms are available inside the campus, with 24-hour access to one of the libraries. Facilities of hostels are good. Medical facilities are excellent. Sports facilities are also excellent in hostels as well as in the sports complex.

Faculty: Some teachers are excellent. Some are average as well in terms of explanation. In terms of knowledge, they are good too. Yes, some courses are relevant, but some seem to be irrelevant as well. Semester exams are difficult in this college. You need to give time to studies to gain good marks. The pass percentage differs from subject to subject. Overall, 80-90% of students pass (given they don't get detained).

Other: Events and fests are good as well. Scholarship facilities are also there. Good sporting events are held there.

Peaceful campus with high placement percentage with good packages.

Placements: As overall if we SEE there is 70% placement of NITJ. But if I say about Mechanical Engineering, this year Mechanical students are placed 100% from NIT J with the average package 7-8 LPA. The highest package for NITJ is 34 LPA overall, but if we talk about Mechanical, then it is 18 LPA.

Infrastructure: The broadband connectivity is quite good but the mobile network is very poor. The classrooms are well maintained and the infrastructure is great if compared to other colleges. Hostels are quite affordable as the charges are only 50k including mess charges.

Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and very supportive as they are very committed to their work. The curriculum is relevant but the schedule for students is quite busy, as the classes begin at 8:30 in the morning and end at 5:30 in the evening. The pass percentage for semesters is 40% at least, but to avail good placement, the average CGPA should be between 7.5-9.0.

Other: The crowd in the campus is not very much comparable to other colleges. The worst thing is that the college is far away from the city, due to which there is very difficult in transport facility. If said directly, there are not many scholarships available if you belong to the general category, but if you are from any other category, then you can have a huge relief in course fees.

NIT Jalandhar : A detailed review.

Placements: In the department of mechanical engineering, there has been 100% placement over last two to three years. The highest package offered was 18 LPA from BPCL and there are many companies which offer good packages to students, like Maruti, which offered 14 LPA to 14 students and there are companies like Oceaneering, Reliance, Maruti, Ashok Leyland, Hyundai, Decathlon, etc.

Infrastructure: NIT Jalandhar is far ahead of many colleges in terms of infrastructure; the labs are all equipped with all the required machinery; new hostels are being made; recently, a new girls hostel was inaugurated and a new library was inaugurated; and the quality of the mess food is better than many national colleges in India.

Faculty: The faculty in the mechanical engineering department is quite good and very knowledgeable and experienced. Some of the teachers have around 27 years of teaching experience but they are also very strict. The course curriculum is hard and the attendance policy is followed very strictly. We have to maintain a minimum 75% attendance.

Other: I chose this course because I am a local student from Punjab but I was quite impressed with college. I did not have too much hope when I first entered college, but NIT Jalandhar did not disappoint me. Campus life is good; there is a lush green campus and all the facilities are available within the campus.

Absolutely satisfied with the placement cell being responsive enough.

Placements: 75% of students are placed, with HPCL offering the highest package at 17.8 LPA and Leyland at the lowest with 5.5 LPA. Maruti is the leading recruiter, with 16 placements and 12 internships. Companies like IOLCP and Amazon are the top recruiters. Technical branches are inclusive, allowing participation from mechanical branches.

Infrastructure: All the facilities available are of high quality; the quality of food is above average, along with good medical and sports facilities. The facilities available are pretty cool enough to get relaxed, the food available is diversified and it is being checked again and again. The feedback form is being circulated in the group to get the interest of students.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers here are highly qualified, and the quality is also good. The course curriculum is designed as per the personality development programme. The semester is not that difficult if you have studied well; the pass percentage is 40 %.

Lets see life at NIT-Jalandhar.

Placements: 80% of the students are placed in top companies. The highest package was 51 LPA by Microsoft and the lowest was around 3 LPA. I am a mechanical engineering student. so most core companies like Honda, Maruti, Hyundai, L&T, BHEL, ONGC, and many software companies come here to recruit. The roles offered are graduate engineer trainees, software roles, manager roles and many other good positions offered by the companies.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is above average as compared to other NITs; the classrooms are good and well furnished; most classrooms have projectors and green boards; and most of them are air-conditioned. As it is very humid in Punjab, ACs are needed. New buildings are under construction and soon to be completed in 2024. The park is very clean and the campus has greenery.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified; most of them are assistant professors and have done PHDs from top IITs. They have very good knowledge about their subjects. Courses are relevant, the syllabus is not updated in many branches like Mechanical, Civil, etc. As other IITs and NITs have the same syllabus, this is not a big issue. College exams are tougher if you don't take them seriously. Studying before one night before exams or midterms and passing is just a joke; it only happens in movies. Copy-checking is also very strict; you have to follow every step of marking to get full marks in questions, not like JEE.

Other: I was getting mechanical engineering here, civil engineering at NIT Kurukshetra and electrical engineering at NIT Agartala. Civil wasn't my cup of tea; Agartala is very far from where I am from, Rajasthan, so mechanical engineering at NIT Jalandhar was okay. For me, Jalandhar is a beautiful city; the culture and people here are very helping and growth-minded. Punjab is a very happy state. The best decision of my life was choosing Punjab. The course could have been updated as new technologies were introduced, but it is not going to happen. Events keep happening within 2–3 months. Our college has many clubs related to everything, whether it be startups, singing, photography or any other. Students with a below-INR 1 lacs annual income don't need to pay tuition. For income of 1–5, 2/3rd of tuition fees is free. Above 5 lacs, all fee need to be paid .
