Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

The great experience in NIT Srinagar.
Placements: Placements have increased quite much as the year passes. As the placements increased, students got placed with greater placements. Even a student with an average CGPA gets placed. There are great companies that are approaching the college and even giving great deals.
Infrastructure: The quality of infrastructure is best. The hostel arrangements are organized very well. The hostel is clean with a bed, and a cupboard provided to each student. They even provide Wi-Fi access to the students. There are reading rooms for students to study peacefully.
Faculty: The curriculum is the best. Our faculty members are the best as they helped a lot of students and even motivated them to cover all scopes. They do their best. Overall the faculty is 2% of the world. The curriculum has a great syllabus and exams are great.

This review is given according to my opinion.
Placements: 70% of students were placed this year from Civil Engineering, with the highest package of 19 LPA and an average of 11 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Wipro, Ambuja, and L&T, and many more. Many students get internships from both the college and companies. About 100% of students get them. Many roles were assigned to students, like HR manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with advanced technology and have great ventilation, which is suitable for both winters and summers. The library is not much bigger but has enough resources like books and other necessary equipment. Hostels are overcrowded but are very good, and the hostel food is average.
Faculty: Every teacher in this college is highly qualified and trained well to teach and understand the subject plus students, but some teachers are only translating the PPT available on digital boards. Yes, for my course, the curriculum is more relevant, which makes students ready for the world. Semester exams are not very difficult, but their frequency makes them difficult. Above 40% is the pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course as I did not want to work out of the station, and this course is highly recommended in this college. This course is vast, but we need to have specific and goal-oriented aims for excelling in it. The restrictions that are applied must be removed, and college students must be given a free life to move out of campus whenever required.

Dissatisfied with the core placements.
Placements: The placement percent of our college remains steady at 60-70% but the only problem is that placement takes place in the CSE/IT branch. Core companies for ECE and electrical, etc. don't visit the campus much. Even if they do, only a few used to get placement.
Infrastructure: To be honest, the Wi-Fi facility at our college is average; at some places you can even SEE video at 8K, and many at the campus there is no Wi-Fi. Our library is well-equipped with Wi-Fi. For our ECE department, we don't have a VLSI lab till date and a lot more facilities are missing. The quality of food is good as compared to those served at Kotak Mess. We don't have much to complain about about the food facility; they provide us food 4 times a day and its consumable; they provide us chicken approximately. 3 days a week, medical facilities are below average, not much equipments and sports facilities are good you can play anytime between 6 am and 9 pm at the playground and obviously you can even play at 3 am badminton with your friends but not at the playground.
Faculty: Coming to the most important part, the course curriculum will only make you complete 3 idiots. That's the truth. It will only result in mugging. The teachers are qualified; no problem with that but from 2nd year, the teachers are very strict; they can even make you fail for 1 mark. It makes you industry-ready. You have to do coding to get placement from NIT Srinagar; that's the truth. Almost all students pass the exam. Papers are set up by the concerned faculty itself and they directly come from notes. The main problem starts from the 5th semester onwards, as most of the students get backlogs from the 5th semester in the ECE, electrical department.
Other: I chose this course because I came to know that ECE will have a bright future scope. The best thing about this course is we learn to make microchips and gain knowledge about robotics, which is important in today's AI generation. If there were more facilities like the VLSI design lab and faculty were not very strict, and if we got in-depth core knowledge. Events are held on regular basis, and if you participate, you can get certificates, which improves your resume many outsiders also participate in these events Recently, there was the biggest festival of this year at NIT Srinagar (techvaganza)connectivity is good, the alumni network is strong here, and yes, they provide us with scholarships like NSP and FFP by notifying us students about it. Extracurricular activities are arranged here in the form of events. Many students participate in these events.

I am satisfied with the overall performance of this college.
Placements: Not many students got placed in my course, roughly around 16%. The highest package that I am aware of is around 13 LPA and the lowest one is around 6 LPA. VEDANTA internship opportunities are there as well in my course, like some IITs offer internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good here, and the classrooms are well-equipped to ensure the students feel comfortable. ACs are installed inside the classrooms, and Wi-Fi access is there in the library and hostels as well. Labs are also crammed with the necessary equipment. Sports and medical care are to be appreciated.
Faculty: Teachers, to be honest, are very helpful, especially in my course. No matter how many times you visit their cabins, there’s no compromise with teaching quality. The syllabus is a bit outdated and not up to date in my course. Semester exams make you face a bunch of conundrums, especially in the Structural Analysis course.

NIT Srinagar is full of beauty, knowledge, personality development, and value for money.
Placements: Placement is not that good. 16 to 20% of students got placements. You can go for competitive exams. 800000 is the highest package and 200000 is the lowest package every year. Very few students, that is, 12%, got internships. ONGC was the top recruiting company here.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very beautiful. As we know, among all the NITs, NIT Srinagar has the most beautiful campus. All basic facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and libraries are in very good condition. Mess food is moderate but it could be tastier. We have canteens, medical facilities, sports and games, which are good enough.
Faculty: All the teachers are Ph.D. holders from renowned institutions. They teach the unit in very deep and also give some extra knowledge. The course curriculum is to the point and relevant. Students passed out from here have gone to many great fields. The semester exams are not that tough and have quality questions.
Other: We celebrate all the festivals with fun and joy. Fests could be better. Mess food also could be tastier. By taking graduation from here, you can also visit many tourist places and explore the heavens on earth.

Good for tech branches but has poor infrastructure.
Placements: We have about 110 students enrolled in the Electrical Engineering department. Top recruiting companies include C-DOT, Jio, Vedanta, and Havells. The average package is expected to reach around 15 lakhs per annum for tech branches by 2026. Various internship companies frequently visit the college, providing valuable real-world experience.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure includes some good classrooms with heating systems and furniture, but these are not available in the first year. Laboratories are well-equipped, but Wi-Fi connectivity is poor, especially in Indus Hostel. The mess food is average, with separate timings for vegetarian and non-vegetarian students.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is good but not fully updated with the dynamic changes happening globally. Semesters are moderate, with a passing percentage of 40%, including 26 marks for mid-semester, 24 marks for class presence and other activities, and 50 marks for end-semester exams.
Other: Overall, I would recommend this college if you are getting into any tech branch based on your score. The campus has a good vibe with the natural beauty of Kashmir and Dal Lake. However, I would definitely improve hostel accommodations and other infrastructure at the college.
