M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering 

at NIT Meghalaya, Shillong

For admission to MTech course in NIT Meghalaya candidates have to appear for the GATE exam. GATE 2024 registration for M.Tech admission has started .Candidates can also fill GATE application form 2024 online at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. GATE 2024 exam will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11,    2024. IISc Bangalore has released the detailed GATE 2024 information brochure. NIT Meghalaya is among the newly established NITs in the northeast region. It managed to secure 72nd under engineering category. As for its placement,  NIT Meghalaya concluded the 2021-22 placement session with 182 job offers. The NIT Meghalaya average package and the highest package stood at INR 12.70 LPA and INR 52 LPA, respectively. Additionally, the lowest package offered was INR 3.6 LPA. Over 60 companies participated in NIT Meghalaya placements 2022, including well-known companies such as Amazon, Accenture, Microsoft, etc. 

NIT Meghalaya offers a full-time two-year MTech programme in five different engineering disciplines, which are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. To be eligible for admission to the M.Tech programme at NIT Meghalaya, candidates must have a valid GATE score. 

The total tuiton fee for the M.Tech programme at NIT Meghalaya is INR 69,500- INR 3.8 lakh, The fee structure mentioned doesn’t include hostel fee. Further, the fee structure is for general category. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. 

GATE exams for M.Tech programme is out for admission to NIT Meghalaya. GATE registration had started and is available till Oct 13, with late fees. Candidates can dowload the GATE admit card from Jan 3, 2024 to Feb 2, 2024. The Gate exam is to be scheduled from Feb 3 to Feb 11, 2024. Candidates are required To register themselves by visiting the official GATE website.

NIT Meghalaya accepts GATE score for admission to the M.Tech courses. As per the NIT Meghalaya M.Tech cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for M.Tech ranged between 356 and 424, among which CSE was the most competitive specialisation. For a few of the M.Tech sepcialisations, the cutoff stands closed after Round 1, 2 and 3. As per the last year cutoff data, the minimum GATE cutoff for NIT Meghalaya was 356 for M.Tech in CSE.

Yes, NIT Meghalaya offers M.Tech programs in various specializations. The following M.Tech specialisations are currently offered at NIT Meghalaya:

Candidates have to qualify the GATE cutoff which is based on certain factors like total number of available seats, the number of candidates appeared in the exam, marks obtained by the candidates. The NIT Meghalaya GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1. The Cutoff scores ranged between 352 and 492. The most competitive course was CSE among all. The Cutoff score for CSE was 492, for the General AI category candidates. Therefore, candidate with the Cutoff score of 450 cannot get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya. 

For the OBC AI category candidates, the most competitive course was CSE with the Cutoff of 423. Therefore candidate falling under OBC AI category getting a score of 450 can get M.Tech in CSE at NIT Meghalaya.
