Average placements, new campus, average mess food, overall a very average college.
Placements: The placements at NIT Meghalaya have been very average, or even below average, for the last two to three years. This year's placements were rather dull, and no big IT companies participated in the on-campus hiring session. Most of the students who got good packages either got them off-campus or had PPOs from their internships.
Infrastructure: The college is moving to a new campus in February 2025. The new campus is in Sohra, Cherapunji, and is in a beautiful setting. The campus is newly built and has new furniture and amenities. The mess food is average, but I expect it to improve once the new campus opens.
Faculty: The faculty were good and very helpful. However, we don't expect them to make us industry-ready, and we will have to learn on our own. The curriculum was recently updated to align with the New Education Policy, so there should be some improvement there. The semester exams are very easy, and we can easily maintain a CGPA above 8.5 just by attending lectures regularly and studying a few nights ahead of time.

New campus life starts, but we'll enjoy yourself.
Placements: Placements at NIT Meghalaya are not so good these days, but they are better than last year. Most of the good placements were recorded in the mechanical section, which were on campus. The good placements in the IT sector were grabbed off campus. So, our placements depend on our performance.
Infrastructure: The hostel has good facilities, but the three-seater rooms require some adjustment. The vegetarian food is average, but the non-veg food is better. There are a few canteens, but they are expanding. For medical care, we depend on the Ramkrishna School and a medical emergency building on campus. There are also two ambulances always on campus. Sports facilities are growing, and we have some indoor sports tables, a badminton court, and a cricket ground for now.
Faculty: The faculty at NIT Meghalaya are nice and friendly. The curriculum is good for branches like EE, ECE, and ME. However, the CSE curriculum is not up to date, and the exams are easier for CSE students than for students in the latest syllabus branches. Overall, academics are not a problem, and students can do well with moderate effort.
Other: I'm a student at NIT Meghalaya. Life here is great, but it can be a struggle for CSE students. You have to work hard to earn your grades, but you'll have a good time here. The seniors are great and they try to help you in every way they can, including providing guidance.

Dissatisfied by the food in the mess & transportation facilities, placements are not up to the mark.
Placements: 70 percentage of the students were placed. In NIT Meghalaya, the highest package was 19.45 Lacs per annum, the lowest was 6 Lacs per annum, and the average was 8 Lacs per annum. Top companies like BPCL, HPCL, Vedanta, and Tata do visit for placements. 90 percentage of students get internships from respective companies. Manufacturing engineer, thermal engineer, and designer roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Campus shifting will take place this December as it’s confirmed officially now. Wi-Fi is good, labs and classrooms are so nice in the permanent campus. Hostel rooms in our new campus are nice. The library is too small but enough for the students count here. Food is bad, and sports and games are fine.
Faculty: Faculty are helpful, but not everyone is knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not up to the mark; it’s not enough for higher studies entrance examinations. No, they won’t give you everything, and the course curriculum doesn’t include everything from GATE and all entrance examinations. Semester exams are of medium level, and the pass percentage is 90 percent. They mostly give 60 percent from the teaching lectures and modules.
Other: You can get central jobs, PSUs, and core jobs from this course. Real-time experience would be nice. A fest happens for every sem, but the crowd is too less.

We are shifting to our permanent campus.
Placements: Over 90% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 51 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Infosys, and Nvidia. Many students got internships in these top companies before their final year. The average salary package offered is 17 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are computer labs with Mac operation systems. It is well-equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi connections and dehumidifiers for projecting the systems from moisture. There is a building with a big library consisting of all the important books for every course.
Faculty: Every faculty on campus is very experienced and educated from IITs. They are post-graduates who teach students the best of topics. Our course curriculum is updated and is very relevant for students. Semester exams are not very difficult to pass, but previous year's papers are very helpful in understanding the type of questions asked.

Overall, totally satisfied with how the journey turned out to be in this institute.
Placements: Top roles offered are mainly in government jobs like PWD or BRD. In both campus and off-campus placements, almost 60% of students were placed, with the highest package being over 60 LPA and the average around 30 LPA. Internship opportunities are great and affiliated with AICTE, with top companies like HCL, Wipro, Microsoft, and Google offering internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with plenty of open space and decent facilities. The course instructors are well-prepared to deliver the course effectively, and the campus's scenic beauty and spaciousness add to the overall experience.
Faculty: The teaching staff is undoubtedly helpful, knowledgeable, and well-qualified, having graduated from prestigious institutions both in India and abroad. The course curriculum is well-structured to meet the objectives, and semester exams are relevant and taken in parts to maximize student efficiency.

An average college with natural beauty.
Placements: There are not many good placements in the ECE department. There are very few placements. I think the highest package is around 40 LPA, and the average package is around 10–12 LPA. I don't know about the companies that recruit. The chance of getting an internship is also low.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the labs, classrooms, and lecture halls is good. This is also true of the hostels, but if you are looking for food, it is not good if you are from the north or west of India. There is mostly non-vegetarian food. No nearby restaurants are available; in fact, there are no shops.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty are supportive, and the teaching quality is good, but if you are aiming for GATE, you have to take courses online, because the level of teaching is not good enough for the GATE exam. Semester exams are not very hard; if you study a bit, it is okay. Passing marks are decided according to student performance.

By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
