A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is B.E. / B.Tech at PES College of Engineering a good choice?

Here's a summary of what students and alumni have said:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The college has modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
* Well-qualified teachers: Professors are knowledgeable and experienced in their fields.
* Placement opportunities: While the number of companies visiting may not be high, some students have been placed in reputed organizations like LNTP, Infosys, and TechMahindra.
* Campus life: Students have reported a positive experience living in hostels with facilities like phone, indoor games, and TV rooms.

Cons:

* Limited exposure to top companies: According to some students, only average companies visit the campus for recruitment.
* Low salary packages: The salary ranges mentioned by students (Rs. 2.5 - 4 LPA) seem relatively lower compared to other institutions.
* Old curriculum: A few students have pointed out that the subjects taught are outdated, and there is a need for improvement in the syllabus.
* Limited extracurricular activities: While the college organizes some events, students feel that more emphasis could be placed on extracurricular activities.

Verdict: Overall, while PES College of Engineering seems to have its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and teacher quality, it appears to face challenges in attracting top companies and offering competitive salary packages. However, individual experiences may vary depending on various factors, and prospective students should weigh these pros and cons before making a decision.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

A good option at relatively lower fees with better facilities and quality education.
Placements: The departmental staff is constantly putting efforts for placement drives and the TPO is organising the placements very smoothly. Large and reputed companies have started visiting the college for placements. The placements are expected to rise further in the upcoming years.
Infrastructure: Lot of space. Lawn and greeneries make the institute even beautiful. The departments are separate and have well-equipped laboratories. Hostel and mess are available and integrated within the campus. Workshop, playground are large enough and Workshop has good machines. The computer labs have the latest computers with high configurations.
Faculty: Almost all The branches of engineering are available in the institute and the faculty members are well behaved, have enough knowledge, and are very Student-Friendly. The institute is affiliated to Dr. BATU having B.Tech degree. The faculty members are up to date with the latest updates in the University and help the students for the same.
Other: Annual gathering is held in the month of March or April. Several events are organised by the students themselves. Some of the events are helicopter ride, LAN gaming, sports events etc. The college is surrounded by historic monuments such as Panchaki, Makai GATE etc. The surroundings have many facilities for students such as hotels, private hostels etc.

PES College of Engineering, Aurangabad. An honest review.
Placements: Honestly speaking, placements are not good at the college. Many companies used to come to college previously but the students were not having proper communication skills hence many companies stopped coming. But last year things changed slightly college conducted a training programme for students. Some companies agreed to come next year. At least this is what the faculty members told us.
Infrastructure: The college is big. It has a huge campus and a good lawn. The equipment for practicals are good. Every lab is equipped. Just the digital infrastructure is weak. The PCs are old and there is no Wi-Fi. The library is big but the only problem with library is the book bank is given to 2 students combined. Some of the office staff members are very rude in the student section. They won't listen to students at all. It has hostels too. The boys' hostel can hold upto 96 students. They have a a girls' hostel too but I don't know their capacity.
Faculty: The faculty team was bad when I joined the college. But from the last year, things have started to change. The college has fired all old not so good teachers and hired experienced and qualified faculty members who are good. The course curriculum is according to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and it is now going to change to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical University. My opinion on the curriculum is neutral. Nothing too great but nothing too bad.
Other: The parking is in sunlight. The front gate of the college often remains closed. The security of college was not good when I joined. Petrol from my bike got stolen most probably by local kids or people. But they have changed their security agency too now. Last year, they changed a lot of things. I think they are making it a better place.

Other: PES College of engineering is one of the most reputed colleges in Karnataka. But the placements have decreased in recent years, after it got autonomous. The main outlook of PES is its infrastructure where it provides Wi-Fi throughout the campus, swimming pool, cricket ground, lawn tennis courts, multi gym, and indoor stadium consist of badminton court, table tennis. But the main problem is it doesn't have good mess in the hostel. So it's better to prefer PG rather than hostel.

Quite satisfied about college and placement in 2019, good environment for students, infrastructure .
Placements: In our batch, 40% of students got placed in campus interviews. The highest package is offered is 6 LPA. Some companies visited like Mahindra, bajaj, etc. Top recruiting companies are Mahindra, etc.
Infrastructure: In our college, the environment is good but no Wi-Fi connectivity for the students. The library is big and every type of book are available in the library. The classrooms are better, good labs, very large workshop to do every practical. Overall, the campus of the college is good.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful, qualified and talented. The teaching quality is not very satisfying. But especially, mathematics department teaching quality is very poor I don't understand what they teach. But mechanical department teachers make student industry-ready.
Other: My course is mechanical engineering. I chose this course because I like cars, bikes and other vehicles and the industry of manufacturing and designing. I got a scholarship every year.

Satisfying and very lovely campus.
Placements: 30% students were placed in 2019. From mechanical, 35% students were placed. The highest salary is 10 LPA in Byju's and the lowest is 2.5 LPA in Varroc Industries. Some have been placed as Assistant Engineer. For mechanical, 3.5 to 5.5 LPA is the package. 15% students got internships in Varroc, BAJAJ MOTORS, Videocon, etc.
Infrastructure: Good and clean classrooms are available with projectors. There is a knowledge center and an IT center, high tech labs, Wi-Fi availability. There are 2 hostels for boys and a girls hostel. The cafeteria is good, a playground and gym facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are very good in nature and helpful as well. They used to provide moral support to the students. Faculty sometimes doesn’t understand you but you can always ask them. Industrial visits are carried out in each semester.
Other: From my childhood, I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. For this purpose, I chose mechanical. This college provides opportunities to work in robotics, CNC, VMC Machine, etc. The college is best for extracurricular activities such as Parivartan and Techtrix.
