Is B.E. / B.Tech at PES College of Engineering a good choice?

Here's a summary of what students and alumni have said:

    Pros:

    * Good infrastructure: The college has modern classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
    * Well-qualified teachers: Professors are knowledgeable and experienced in their fields.
    * Placement opportunities: While the number of companies visiting may not be high, some students have been placed in reputed organizations like LNTP, Infosys, and TechMahindra.
    * Campus life: Students have reported a positive experience living in hostels with facilities like phone, indoor games, and TV rooms.

    Cons:

    * Limited exposure to top companies: According to some students, only average companies visit the campus for recruitment.
    * Low salary packages: The salary ranges mentioned by students (Rs. 2.5 - 4 LPA) seem relatively lower compared to other institutions.
    * Old curriculum: A few students have pointed out that the subjects taught are outdated, and there is a need for improvement in the syllabus.
    * Limited extracurricular activities: While the college organizes some events, students feel that more emphasis could be placed on extracurricular activities.

Verdict: Overall, while PES College of Engineering seems to have its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and teacher quality, it appears to face challenges in attracting top companies and offering competitive salary packages. However, individual experiences may vary depending on various factors, and prospective students should weigh these pros and cons before making a decision.

Review of P.E.S. College of Engineering.
Placements: I received great support from the placement office. I am thankful to the training and placement cell for providing a platform to enhance my skills and an opportunity to showcase them. Internship opportunities are good in our college.
Infrastructure: Hostels have a lush green environment. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. Round-the-clock security is available. Phone, indoor games, and television facilities are available in the common room. Rooms are ventilated. Mess facilities are available in the hostel. Solar heaters and water coolers are available.
Faculty: Teachers are good, caring, and supportive. Their teaching quality is good. Exams are conducted on time with strict invigilation. Semester exams are easy to pass, but scoring high is difficult. They provide good quality education and soft skills training with their effective teaching skills.
Other: This college gave us opportunities to meet different people and learn several things. The campus encourages and helps us to develop the ability to adapt. Ragging is strictly prohibited in our college.

Review of P.E.S. College of Engineering.
Placements: The percentage of students placed on campus is average. The salary packages offered range from 2.5 to 4 LPA by different companies.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are labs, libraries and classrooms. They are comfortable and up to the mark. The labs are well-equipped with the required devices or instruments for practicals or demos for students.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are helpful, highly qualified and are always there for students. But there is a need for two-way communication between students and teachers. They teach us all the technical skills required.
Other: I chose electrical engineering as it provides good exposure and versatility.

    Faculty members are not good.
Placements: LnT, Infosys, etc. recruit the students. 84% students were placed in Infosys.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are good. Labs are also good. the library is much better. I don't live in hostel. The canteen is worst. You can get good food outside the college.
Faculty: Teachers are not good. They do not make us industry ready. Exams are tough. No cheating is allowed.

    Overall, the college is good.
Placements: They bring average companies for placement but not as good as other colleges bring in our city. Average packages lies between 2-5LPA. Infosys, TCS, tech Mahindra are the recruiting companies. They give internship on internshala. They offer roles like system administration, support engineers, cloud and marketing etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Big buildings are there with good classrooms. Smart classes are there with projector installed in them. Ample of parking space is available. Good canteen is there too. There is a well-maintained huge lawn. Good labs and LAN is available for it. The college has CCTV surveillance in class, corridors and parking.
Faculty: Teachers are good. They are full of knowledge. Teachers are well qualified, everyone has done Masters and some of them are pursuing Ph.D. as well. They help us in academics. They share their knowledge and helps us to choose our career wisely. Semester exams are quite tough but not that much.

Review of PES College Of Engineering (Aurangabad) Maharashtra.
Placements: The placements are good, and the placement rate is high, but the salary packages offered are low as only the local companies come here to provide placements. Only the best students get job opportunities. The teachers guide us through the placement process from the start to the end. So, the placement facilities are good compared to other colleges except for government colleges.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility for students. The canteen is the worse part of our college, and it is not clean. The library is not good, and the books are too old. Nothing is good. There are medical facilities. The campus is not good and not hi-tech. There are no CCTV cameras on campus. Parking facilities are hilarious because we have to park bikes in the direct sunlight, and there are shades but only for college staff.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are helpful as they are highly qualified professionals and are always there for students. But there is a need for two-way communication between the students and teachers here. They teach us the required technical skills.
Other: Tectrix 2K18 is a week-long event that took place, and it was a grand success and witnessed a huge crowd.

Our college is average. Faculty members are excellent at their teaching skills.
Placements: Placement offers on-campus are not much high, and not many good companies visit our campus for recruitment. The salary package offered to one of our seniors is around 4 LPA-5 LPA. Some students got the lowest salary package of around 1.2 LPA-1.5 LPA. For internships, we have to pay the company to the campus. Jobs offered for students are web developer, system administrator, software developer, AWS, etc.
Infrastructure: On the campus, Wi-Fi is not available. Our college has its own library, and students can borrow books. The library has a huge study hall. Classrooms are average. The hostel is located backside of the college. In the on-campus hostel, they allot a single room for 2-3 students. The food served in the hostel mess is average. Our college canteen is the worst part of the campus, and it's like some small tea stall in a small space. Medical facilities are not available. Our college doesn't have any facilities for sports and games, and I never saw anyone playing on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers here are good. The faculty members of the CSE department are awesome. They have some of their own achievements in the field of computer science. The teaching quality is good here. CSE course is difficult, and every subject is relevant to the computer field. It makes you industry-ready. The exams are difficult, and the passing is not much hard. Marks allotted are 40-60. About 40 marks are internal marks, which includes assignments, class performance, presentation in the classroom, attendance, exams, etc. About 60 marks are allotted for theory exams conducted at the end of the semester.
Other: Nowadays, everything is related to computer science. I'm always nerdy about computers, and I enjoy being around technology. CSE prepares me in the best way possible for anything related to the computer field. Lots of things should be improved in the CSE course like the subjects are old, and new technologies are emerging. The syllabus should be improved. Some events are organised on the campus like an annual gathering and celebrations of different days of Indian culture. Surroundings of our campus have the biggest government hospital and medical college. Moreover, from some distance away from the campus, there is Dr. BATU University. You can avail of a scholarship from the government by applying to it and for other scholarships. Faculty members and staff members give you guidance for scholarship-related queries. Extracurricular activities are not much, but we can participate in groups that are led by students.
