B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2017
Offered by Pune District Education Association's College of Engineering

I was thankful for getting this college, but now, only the frustration has remained.
Placements: The placement on the campus is good. If you are graduated from this college, you will get a good job. The salary offered was Rs. 5,000 per month, it is a high package as no one can get this type of package. There is no placement service, and there are only politics and other unwanted things.
Infrastructure: For the infrastructure, my college is good. There is much space in my college. Everyone can play at any time on the ground. The classrooms are big and clean. After completing my course, the library is good. There are no any medical facilities, and the other activities are good in my college.
Faculty: The staff is good, but my HOD is the worst man in the world. One of the teachers has a very bad eye on girls. The teachers are well-qualified. They know a lot of things from outside, and no one has knowledge in a book.
Other: The political events are held on the campus. The campus crowd is big.

Disqualified college due to no management, and poor faculty. Needs to improve approach to students.
Placements: Placements in this college are very less at about 2-3 percent for my previous batches and my batch as well. They provide placements in the non-technical domain. Students have to search on their own for a job. In terms of salary packages, placed students got 2.4 lakhs PA as the highest and 1.8 lakhs PA as the lowest. Both are surely the lowest salaries offered in the industry. Philips Bulb and HP visited for tech-support and a few small-scale companies from the local MIDC area. Those offer mainly production engineer roles or tech support roles. About 20-25 percent students from mechanical and instrumentation got internships but for other branches, it was absolute zero. The stipend offered for these internships was 3000-5000 per month. So overall, the placement is about zero. If you have your own guts and skills, you can go for post graduation and for a PG diploma or any job oriented- course from many coaching centers available in Pune. For placements, you have to depend on such institutes or coaching centers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The campus has a Wi-Fi connectivity for students and also a computer center for Internet browsing. You can go there anytime and search for the needful data or stuff you need. The computer center is open for college hours only. The campus also has a library common for all. Medical assistance, a small gym and a sports club with a coach. The library is open in the college hours and a reading room is attached to it. You can spend time there studying in college hours and for PL reading room is open for 18 hours for every week of the day. If you have an illness or injury, medical assistance is available during college hours. The sports and game facilities are good. They provide a coach for all the games and he leads the college team to the various competitions. We also have a sports meet once a year for 3-5 days where all students can participate in their interested games. Although no ground is available for the games, they manage the other school ground on a lease for their practices and events. The campus has a basketball court, a table-tennis room, a carrom room and also a volleyball ground.
The quality of labs is not much good but OK for educational purposes. In electronics and instrumentation labs, a few things are not available. Mechanical, computer and IT labs are good and have everything which is needed. The classrooms are good for studying purposes. They have blackboards and a few classrooms have projector facilities. The quality of food in the canteen is not of even 3 stars but is OK to survive. Some menus of the canteen are good and cheap.
A hostel is available only for girl candidates. It is good and has security for girls. Boys live in private hostels or PGs near the college area.
No infrastructure issue arose during the college days. It has a good enough infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty team is not just what we expect in an engineering college should have. Many of them are helpful to you but you should approach them regularly. They have much arrogance. For non-curricular activities, you have to explain all the things to your faculty members if you are absent. There are very strict rules for attending the college.
Most of the faculty members are good and qualified but with less practical knowledge. They might lead you to a confusing state with their confusing lectures. You have to approach them if you don't get any topic or practical in person. Many times, it happens that your subject remains untaught for the last 2-3 units. And again, you must be strong enough to complete them by your own.
Teaching methods of a few faculty members are good, but many others go by the conventional way of a tired approach. They use blackboard and chalk for illustrations and a few go for PPT presentations via projectors.
They have a ratio of 1 teacher per 18 students(18:1). This sometimes makes a shortage of faculty members if somebody is on a holiday. In the electronics department, the ratio is less than this. Faculty members available are not enough and lead to no faculty members for teaching the course or lab hours.
A few industrial visits are the only way to get exposure to the industry. The mechanical department has as many visits as 1 per month, but the rest of the departments have 1-2 in a year, so students are not exposed to the industry very much.
The course curriculum is by Savitribai Phule Pune University, so it is well-designed to help students to get more knowledge, but the one who implements it is the college and faculty members, so a few of the courses are useful.
Other: This college does not deserve to be a good one, but if you want only the degree, you can take admission in it and enjoy all extra-curricular activities. The placement is not good enough and some teachers even do not believe in their own students and themselves, so do not risk your career by admitting yourself to this college. The management of the college is very selfish and do not care for the student at all. So no one can save you from the problems you will face.
