The Faculty Members and Infrastructure of UPES.
Placements: The placement of UPES is awesome, the placement rate is 95%. The highest package for B.Tech CSE is 42 Lakh per annum and the lowest is 6-8 Lakh per annum, average package is 8-10 Lakh per annum. The top companies hire students in UPES. It is the best college for engineering in Dehradun.
Infrastructure: The college is awesome, it provides free internet on campus, it provides a library which is amazing. The quality of food in the canteen and cafeteria is good. The opportunity for sports and other activities is very good for students, also it comes in state and national levels.
Faculty: The teachers are amazing, their teaching skills and knowledge are very good, they teach on smart boards with animated examples. The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable in their courses, also they help students in their projects and problems.
Other: The campus life of UPES is good, the faculty members are very sincere in their work. The faculty members also provide notes online. The transport facilities of UPES are very nice. UPES review for students.
Placements: 95-96% of students were placed in the college with an average package of 14-15 lakhs. Highest package of 50 lakhs and least package of 5 lakhs. Many big companies like Amazon also come to this college for placements, take students for internships and also offer a good package.
Infrastructure: The hostel is just great in that the rooms are very neat and clean, and the wifi is also 24 hour service with a speed of around 400 mbps. Campus faculty is also very great; teachers are very good and concerned about studies. Hostel food is also very good; the chef makes very good food, which everyone eats with joy.
Faculty: Faculty is very good every teacher is helpful and knowledgeable. Students are taught many programming languages like C, C++, Python, and Java, which will come in need in the future when they have to go for placements. Exams in the college are not so difficult; an average student can pass the exams easily.
Other: I chose this college because i had very low marks in JEE, and other college with lower marks are not so good so the best option for me was to come to UPES, and now I am very grateful that I came here, as UPES is a very good college which also organizes many great events like Urja, Spain, etc.

My college review in a jist .
Placements: Top recruiters are accenture, here technologies. The packages this year haven't been that high but cyber security companies have come and taken good number of students. The variety of courses have also had an impact in number of placements in the campus.
Infrastructure: The hostel has 3 sharing in 1 room, food ain't that good. But it is near the campus. The washrooms are shared, which aren't clean a majority of time. There is a hostel shop that has some biscuits and other neccessities. There is a canteen that serves till late night around 10.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and guide us during the project. A minority of them aren't that helpful. We have been given various projects under various teachers. Semester exams are usually of mid range, but certain subjects have a 0 or 1 marking, addititionally we have been enrolled in subjects of other schools.

UPES insiders and true information.
Placements: The placement cell of UPES is very good, as various companies visit the university, and they are improving significantly while training students accordingly. Special classes are being held, and internships are also provided to give students the knowledge needed to sit in interviews.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus and hostel is breathtaking; it's beautiful and well-maintained. The washroom is a concern for women, but as a woman, I can say the cleaning staff is good and keeps the surroundings and washrooms clean. Everything else is very nice.
Faculty: The faculty is supportive and guides you throughout your journey. The curriculum is designed not to put much pressure on students and helps them cope with the syllabus. To sit for exams, you need 75% attendance, and they are strict about it. There is discipline and maintenance.

It is a good college. And the placement is average .
Placements: In my batch, the placement rate was quite strong, with around 85% of students securing job offers through campus placements. The highest package offered was approximately INR 15 LPA, while the lowest was around INR 3.5 LPA. The average package for the course was around INR 6-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course included major players like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Cognizant, along with some prominent startups and mid-size firms. These companies offered roles that spanned software development, data analytics, consulting, and technical support. About 70% of students secured internships, with many of them placed in reputable organizations. Companies like IBM, HCL, Deloitte, and Capgemini were among those offering internship opportunities. The roles for internships primarily focused on software engineering, data analysis, and consulting, which provided valuable hands-on experience in the industry.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in the course department are well-maintained and supportive of students? Academic needs. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and comfortable seating, providing a good environment for learning. Labs are adequate equipped with the necessary tools and software for practical sessions, and the library offers a comprehensive selection of textbooks, reference materials, and journals. Wi-Fi is available across campus, though the speed and reliability may vary. The hostel facilities are generally comfortable, with clean rooms and essential amenities. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is decent, with options that cater to different dietary preference, though some students find it repetitive. Medical facilities are available on campus, with a small clinic for basic healthcare needs and access to nearby hospital for more serious issues. The college provides various sports facilities, including courts for popular games and a gym, which encourages physical activity and team sports.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Many of them have strong academic backgrounds and relevant experience, making them effective at explaining concepts and offering guidance. The teaching quality trends to be good, with an emphasis on understanding over wrote learning, though this can vary slightly by department. The course curriculum is designed with industry requirements in mind, and it covers both foundation knowledge and practical skills. However, some students feel that certain areas could benefit from more real-world applications. Overall, the curriculum helps students develop the skills needed for the industry, but self-study or internships may be necessary for complete readiness. Semester exams at this college are moderate challenging, testing both theoretical understanding and practical application. The exams are generally fair but require consistent preparation. The pass percentage is fairly high, with most students passing if they have put in regular efforts .
Other: Because I have interest .

Placement doesn't depend on CGPA. It depends on the skill you got and knowledge you acquired. Yes, you have to maintain a minimum CGPA that is 8 or 7.5. No company hire employees on the basis of CGPA now.

Yes, there are chances, depends that whether you are going for further studies or for job purpose, you can go for both. If for job purpose then you need to appear for the placements of foreign companies.

For b.tetc computer science, you should have keen interest in computer languages like C, Java, C+ etc. If you have intertest you can take this branch and further you can specialize in it by doing M.Tech or MBA IT
