I am satisfied with the college, but it needs to improve in placements.
Placements: Mechanical engineering courses offer more knowledge, but placements are low as compared to computer science. Most of the mechanical engineering students are placed in the IT department. Core company placements are very low. The highest salary package for the course is 1.5 LPA and the lowest is 0.75 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college provides very good infrastructure inside the campus and takes good care of the students. Students will have access to a library with many books and magazines.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and communicative. The teaching quality is good. This course offers mainly a layout of the company and introduces various operations and techniques that are carried out within it, but students won't get the exact idea of the operation model.
Other: I have an interest in learning mechanical engineering. Our course gave me an idea of different mechanical machines and machinery. Students should be trained at the company level. All the extracurricular activities, including sports, are good. Good festivals such as IGNIZ, VIPANCHIKA, and AARAVAM are carried out.

It is one of the best colleges in terms of teaching quality and placements.
Placements: The students get admissions according to their marks in +1 and +2 and also based on the entrance result. Scholarships are provided according to the marks. Infosys and other companies offer internships in the college. More than 30 companies provide placements here.
Infrastructure: It has a huge and well-maintained library, Wi-Fi, and labs. Hostel facilities are good, and we have better rooms. Mess facilities, bathrooms, and clean surroundings are available. 1st-year students have a separate hostel to avoid ragging.
Faculty: The faculty members are well qualified and have better teaching quality. The classes are mostly understanding and easy to learn. If you follow the way they teach, you can clear the exams without any difficulties. Semester exams are moderate, but some subjects are difficult.
Other: I chose it because I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. Events are held, and scholarships are available.

Review of SCMS School of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: I'm a mechanical engineering student of 2017-2021 batch. Around 50% of the students got placed from the campus. Highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was something 2 LPA. Placements for mechanical branch from the core companies was nil.
Infrastructure: The college is Wi-Fi enabled. The labs are of good quality and facilities, including 3D printers are available. There is no ragging in the hostel. Wi-Fi facilities are available in the hostel, but there is no laundry facility. Food served is of average quality. Medical facilities are weak in college. No sports and games are active in there.
Faculty: Teachers of our college are well-qualified and can teach students with their knowledge and experience. I would rate the teaching quality as 9 out of 10. Almost 70% of the teachers are very friendly, and they make us happy. They provide us with knowledge of academics and also about the world outside.
Other: I opted for the course as I was interested in this course as they all are competitive in industries. I suggest this course should provide more practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge. There are cultural events and tech fests such as Igniz.

Happy to study in this college for 4 years, and the college provides good placements for IT course.
Placements: I would say that the placements were available for those who prefer IT jobs mostly. I got placed in Infosys as a system engineer with a good salary package. A total of 186 students got placed from our batch and 221 students from our senior batch. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. Different companies like HCL, Infosys, MRF, IBM, Musigma, Tech Mahindra, etc., visited our campus for placements. The placement cell in this college is very active and quite helpful.
Infrastructure: I would rate the infrastructure related to the mechanical branch 5 out of 5, including the library, labs and buildings. Sports and games facilities are below average, to be honest. Quality of classrooms is very high with individual chairs and quality boards. Quality of food served in the canteen was above average, and the canteen of SCMS is one of the best in terms of space and ambience. Hostel rooms were of average quality with two members sharing a room, and it has an attached washroom.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college have vast experience in their respective fields and have in-depth knowledge of their subjects. The student to faculty ratio is around 30:1. Industry exposure was provided to students through industrial visits. Teaching quality can be considered as great, and they use boards, live experiments, etc., for teaching. I have visited Autokast Alapuzha where I learned a lot about casting and making of moulds etc.
Other: The main cultural fest of SSET is IGNIS which is conducted for every 2 years, and it is not the one to be missed. The campus surroundings are lush-green. Connectivity is good.

A good choice for doing engineering in Kerala.
Placements: Placement season at SCMS had a strong start and ended with astounding energy. The average CTC based on packages offered so far is rupees 5 lacs per annum with the highest offer being 10 lacs per annum. The number of eligible students was 344, in the 2016 batch and the number of offers received was 324. The companies visited are Unisys, Mu Sigma, Infosys Limited, Suntec Business Solutions, Experion Technologies, Mitrah Energy Limited, IBS Software Services, IVTL Infoview, Sutherland and many other companies. All the students of the batch attended the internship drives, and about 30% of them got internships from the college. Almost all the internships didn't have any stipend. The placement cell of the college is very effective and provides assistance for the overall development of students personality, and this makes them ready for the placement activities. The department organises on-campus and off-campus drives as well as pool campus recruitments, pre-placement training programs through aptitude tests, group discussions. Presentation skills are improved, and interviews are conducted. The training programs offered enable students to identify their strength and weakness and select the strategies for improvement. Besides this, they extend intensive support for their career development.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi facility, but it is only for the staff. There are very good classrooms, medical facilities, sports and games. The quality of labs and classrooms is very good. A state-of-the-art cafeteria with the most modern centralised food production facility is also in place which serves both vegetarian and nonvegetarian items. It has an area of 1,300 square metres which is spacious enough to accommodate five hundred students comfortably at a time. The canteen timings are separate for first and senior years so that the new students are free to move in the campus. There are separate hostels for women and men in the campus. Men's hostels can accommodate four hundred and eighty-nine students, and the ladies hostel can accommodate 390 students. There is a separate hostel inside the campus for first-year boys. Security personnel have been deployed at the hostels round the clock.
Faculty: In SCMS, there are well-qualified teachers qualified from reputed colleges like IITs, NITs and many other colleges. Teaching quality is very good, and modern teaching methods are employed. Most of them use projectors and various other presentation methods. The faculty to student ratio ranges from 1:40 to 1:60. Industry exposure provided is very less. The course curriculum is very difficult and almost vague and unclear.
