The campus is good, and it provides several opportunities.

Placements: Our college provides placements in several IT companies like Wipro and Cognizant for our seniors. Many students are working successfully along with their studies. We learn leadership skills and have NSS for social work training. It supports me a lot for progress.

Infrastructure: It has a fantastic library. There is a good canteen, which serves delicious food for students. Our college conducts sports like swimming, basketball and tennis competitions. A different medical team is available in any situation to take care of the students.

Faculty: Our college provides great teachers for students. They are qualified and talented. They prepare us very well for our future days. They provide us with everything we need. Semester exams are going really well. The pass percentage is almost 99% in every academic year.

Other: Our college has a great blast during the college fest. The college has a fine and healthy environment. I have chosen this course because I have found great reviews from friends and seniors.

The college provides really good infrastructure and faculty.

Placements: There are provisions for placement, but they are very less. Moreover, nobody generally opts for it as everyone prefers going for higher studies. I didn't go for placements as they were not that good. Even I opted for higher studies. In my opinion, it is better not to take placements.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very nice. Labs are well-equipped. Classrooms are quite comfortable and maintained properly. Corridors and classrooms are under CCTV surveillance. There is a huge ground. The college also has a common room and swimming pool on the premises.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very cooperative and helpful. They guide and mentor us in all possible ways. The course curriculum is good and well structured for graduation. Teachers are familiar with new teaching techniques and very efficient. The evaluation of the papers is also done very strictly.

The geography department has great faculty and ambiance, but placements are poor.

Placements: The college doesn't offer any placements for the students of the geography department. Till 2016, no placement drives were conducted, and even the internship opportunities are not provided for the students of the geography department.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent. The college has a library, laboratory and canteen. The GIS lab has well-functioning laptops. All the classrooms are well-equipped with air conditioners and a projector. As far as hostel rooms are concerned, SSY doesn't provide any hostel facility. The quality of food provided in the canteen is great, but the only vegetarian food is offered within the college premises.

Faculty: The faculty members of the geography department are highly qualified and approachable. They guide the students throughout the course and provide all kinds of necessary help to the students. Teaching through projectors is prevalent in the classes, and the student-teacher ratio is good. Adequate attention is given to every student during the course. No industry exposure was needed for the course. However, as per the University of Calcutta guidelines, a field trip is organised for the students every year. But generally, the selected field area falls within the neighbouring districts of Kolkata, West Bengal.

Other: The surroundings of the campus are good except for the occasional honking of the passerby cars. Every year, the college organises an annual fest named Srijan with great pomp and show. The sports events are remarkable. The campus crowd is vibrant. The extracurricular activities are greatly encouraged as the college organises an annual function, every year featuring the talent of the students from every department.

The ambiance is great in geography department and there are good faculty. But, placements are poor.

Placements: The college doesn't offer any placements for the students of the geography department. Till 2016, the students of the department did not get placed owing to the absence of placement drives. However, the college needs to organise placement drives for the students of the geography department to boost their confidence. They need to broaden the horizon of the students by offering an ample opportunities.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is up to the mark, and there is a canteen, labs and library. All the classrooms are well-equipped with air conditioners and a projector. GIS lab has well-functioning laptops, but sometimes, the external mouses connected to laptops fail to function properly. So they need to change them regularly.

Faculty: All the faculty members of our college are highly qualified and approachable. They truly uphold the integrity of the college and the department. Under their guidance, the students of the geography department are flourishing in their field of interest.

Other: The surroundings of the campus are good except for the occasional honking of the passing cars. Every year, the college organises an annual fest named Srijan with great pomp and show. The guest appearances vary with the sponsorships. The sports events are remarkable, and many students from our college participate in these events.

Had a great college life studying in SSC. Not much satisfied with the placements but great faculty.

Placements: There is a working placement cell which recruit students from all courses. But preferably from B.Com or BBA courses and Masters courses. Yet students from all the courses can apply and have a fair share of chance to be selected. However the maximum package is around 15,000 per annum. Though most are less than that. The famous companies which came for campusing in 2018 are IDBI bank, GST Dost, Omifin solutions and other smaller companies.

Infrastructure: The is probably one of the best college in town in terms of infrastructure. All the rooms are equipped with minimum of 2 ACs with ample number of fans and lights. The desks are broad and comfortable. The cleaners are mopping the college almost all the time. The bathrooms are equipped with Sanitary napkin vending machines and super clean. There is a common room with gym. A huge library with a huge stack of genres.

Faculty: This college has a premium faculty. There is no such incidences when classes are randomly cancelled by teachers. Even general classes are held regularly. The college is under University of Calcutta and follows the CU syllabi. There are smart computers in almost all the classrooms. The JMC lab is equipped with Mac Books. The teachers are very friendly. However there are not much strict rules regarding attendance.

Other: The college fest Srijan is a topnotch for the Yatanites where you encounter with celebrity guests like Ayushman Khurana, Darshan Rawal, Arjun Kanungo, etc. There is a college fete Shri organised and conducted by the students. The campus life is not however great as it is attached with school. There are scholarships for meritorious students. A lot of activities go on all the year round for which you just need to keep an eye on the 2nd floor corridor.
