Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Placements were not that good. Otherwise, our college is very good.
Placements: About 2% to 3% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary offered was Rs. 25,000 per month, while the lowest salary offered was Rs. 10,000 per month. There were no top recruiting companies for our college. The top role offered in our course was a technical support engineer. The highest salary package offered in our course is 2.5 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. Internships were not provided here.
Infrastructure: Classrooms here are good, and the library is well maintained. There are very many departments and courses like mechanical, computer, chemical engineering, etc. The hostel is very well maintained, and they take special care for the food served in the hostel as well as canteen. The medical facility is poor, and sports and games facilities are average.
Faculty: Teachers here are helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. We learnt about telecommunication as well as IoT system. In the last year, we did a project named air pollution monitoring system using IoT, and it was the industry needed project.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was interested in this course. The best thing about our course is we got a lot of knowledge about telecommunication engineering. Extracurricular activities are conducted well in this college.

It is one of the best colleges ever.
Placements: About 85% of the students from our course got placed. Some students got the highest salary package of 6 LPA, while some students got a salary package of 3.6 LPA. Some students got placed in telecom sector companies like Tata Communications Ltd and in IT sector companies like Wipro, Infosys, and other companies like Sun Pharma, BEL, Mahindra and Mahindra, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college provides high-speed Wi-Fi facilities on the campus as well as the hostel. There are all well-developed departmental labs. Our college also has a huge central library with IEEE login, and there are smart digital classrooms. Our college provides the best hostel at affordable fees, and there is a separate wing according to the year in which students are pursuing. Our college provides doctor appointment regularly in the hostel.
Faculty: Our department also has well-qualified faculty members. Our department HOD is a PhD holder and has two patent registered on his name. Other faculty members are pursuing a PhD, and even some teachers published a textbook. Our department organised national-level events, seminars and workshops for students.
Other: Different types of departmental technical events are organised in our college.

Review of Sir Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology.
Placements: Our college didn't bring in campus interviews of any major MNCs, and not even any small-scale company. Around 3 students from our branch didn't join the company for which they were selected. The company demanded money from those students for 3 months of training.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities were good. There were classrooms, laboratories, and a library in our college. The quality of the food was not good. Wi-Fi was not available for students. Routers were available, but they did not share passwords. In all, around 3 or 4 computers were available in the laboratory. There was a lack of sports facilities. The grounds were not kept clean. Power cuts occur frequently as it is a college located in a rural area. The canteen facilities were not good. There were no hotels or canteens found near the college.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful but did not guide us in our careers. Some teachers did not have enough knowledge, but some were exceptionally good. Many good teachers left our college and joined other colleges. Their teaching was average. There was no special emphasis on practical knowledge. The course curriculum did not make students industry-ready.
Other: Our college was far from the city area. It was 13 kilometers away. This was not good because students were dependent on the college bus facility rather than public transport. Our college should provide good facilities and placements.
