Brief on St. Xavier's Kolkata 23-24.
Placements: More than 70 companies participated in campus recruitment for the academic year 2023-24. The CTC offers ranged from 4 lakhs to 24 lakhs. Notable recruiters include Accenture, D.E. Shaw, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst and Young GDS, Deloitte USI, Deloitte India, McKinsey, Adobe, ICICI Bank, Digit Insurance, Novartis, Rebuscode, Corizo, Tata Consultancy Services, SBI, Axis Bank, ITC, Swiggy, Zomato, Tata Power, Myntra, Aakash Institute, Aditya Birla Group (including Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance), Bajaj Capitals, Cognizant, Federal Bank, Asian Paints, Godrej & Boyce, Godrej Properties, Kingfish Group, Verizon, Swiss Re, WTW, RSA, Nopany Associates, NEO Group, MGH, Chegg, Pragmatic Play, Zen Trades India, Grant Thornton, Visa Group, Ditto Insurance, Digit Insurance, and Wells Fargo, among others. This reflects a 25% increase over last year, which included premium companies like Zomato, Hyperpure, Amul, Dollar Garments, Paragon Finance, and Lakme.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi throughout the campus, and classrooms utilize both traditional and digital teaching methods. The library is decent, with a great availability of books. The hostel infrastructure is good, offering two main meals and a tiffin each day. The college also has a nice canteen that offers food at a very affordable price. There are two fields for various sports, including volleyball, football, and basketball.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely well-qualified and knowledgeable, and most of them try to connect with students personally. The course curriculum is relevant and popular, enhancing students in various aspects. The difficulty of semester examinations depends on how much students have studied and followed the classes.

Make your college life worthy of experiences.
Placements: Placement is a partially guaranteed phenomenon. The competition in your batch will be really tough as the cutoff percentage for Economics at Xavier's is shockingly high. So mostly the toppers of different schools come on board. Talking about Internships, the placement cell does arrange internships offered by D. E. Shaw & Co, Deloitte, pwc, Larsen and Toubro and many more for second year as well the third year students. However it will entirely depend on your competitiveness as the seats available would be very limited.
Infrastructure: The teaching faculty is fairly good yet not all professors may suit you. It is imperative to mention that there is no comprosomise to facilities given to students. The teachers use simple teaching methods and that quite suffices the purpose. The library won't disappoint you for sure. Access to campus Wi-Fi for students is denied.
Faculty: The professors are extremely qualified and helpful. For Economics, you won't be disappointed with the teaching. The curriculum is relevant. Few professors share industry ready experiences which is worth taking a note of. If you compare the CU end-semester exams and SXC exams you will be astonished to find the level of difficulty in our papers. Mugging up really doesn't help here.
Other: I find the syllabus very interesting. Macro and Micro at the intermediate level becomes difficult eventually.

It is the best college in Kolkata.
Placements: Almost 70% of the students who registered in the placement cell and applied for jobs got placed. Some students got very good job offers in companies like JP Morgan, DE Shaw, Delloite, etc. Members of the placement committee are also cooperative and friendly.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are big and equipped with modern amenities for teaching students. The library facility is one of the best. The canteen is clean and provides students with fresh food at affordable prices. Smoking isn't allowed inside the college campus.
Faculty: Teachers here were extremely helpful, and teaching quality of teachers in all the departments was great. The course curriculum helped students to build a strong foundation in major and minor subjects with the help of teachers. Private tuitions weren't required as class notes were more than enough, and teachers were always available for clearing doubts.

My eternal pride is St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
Placements: The placements were really nice for my batch. Students got placed into leading MNCs like City Bank, McKinsey, Uber, Axis, etc. I know that students from my batch have cracked annual CTC of around 14 lacs from college placements. Everyone could explore the opportunity of sitting for the drives.
Infrastructure: The college has a brilliant infrastructure. The authority was strict though helpful and supportive. The library was really nice. There are helpful staffs. It has a friendly environment. The societies were the best places to travel along our own domains of interests.
Faculty: The faculty was very nice in SXC. We probably had the best professors of Kolkata for guiding us and taking us through the curriculum. The professors were more like our parents, and their way of teaching will always be missed. The interactive sessions throughout the classes used to be helpful.

Not the best But Jack of all Trades.
Placements: The placement from our department was pretty good. One of us got placed in City Bank with a good pay package. Companies like Mckinsey, City Bank etc. Visited our campus. Almost 40% students from our batch got placed through the placement cell. We don't usually get internships from the college but students do it on their own venture.
Infrastructure: The quality of the laboratories and the classrooms is pretty amazing. Also the library is well equipped with almost every book one can probably need. Students can access research papers for free from the library. The college has got two huge fields. Our football, table tennis and basketball teams are pretty awesome. The quality of the food in the canteen is quite good.
Faculty: Though, I myself didn't find the curriculum much useful, it might seem to be very useful and structured and well organised to others. The professors are helpful and are always there to help you out with any academic problem you face. The economics and English departments are two of the best departments in this college in the entire Kolkata. But due to the semester system, students often don't get the time to understand the subject and go on mugging the notes.
