You can visit the Shiksha website for more information on cutoffs.

Q:   Is University College of Engineering Tier 1 or Tier 2?

A:

University College of Engineering (UCE) falls under Tier 2. Here's why:

- NIRF Ranking (2023): 201-250 band (Engineering)

- NAAC Accreditation: A Grade (CGPA 3.24/4)

- NBA Accreditation: Yes (5 UG programs)

- Autonomy: Granted (2023)

- Student-faculty ratio: 14:1

A:

Admission to the University College of Engineering is highly competitive but not beyond one's control. TS EAMCET entrance examination qualifies a student, and the general categories must hold at least 36%. Cut-off ranks are remarkably different as per the courses selected, as certain branches demand a better rank than others. Direct admission is not available. Counseling process, however centralizes admissions based on performance scores in the entrance examinations. In general, securing a spot is not easy, but motivation and eligibility ensure this accessibility for students.

It is a good university for engineering, and the fee is affordable.
Placements: The placements are good for CSE, ECM, and ECE students. There are no placements for civil and mechanical students. The average package is 10-12 LPA for computer engineering students, and the maximum package is 35 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Infosys etc. On average, 75% of students got internships in their 8th semester.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our university is very good. There are many parks and canteens and big stadiums for extracurricular activities. There is also a night reading hall and a big library which is open 24 hours for students. The engineering department is very good, and there are around 900 rooms, including labs for every subject like computer programming labs etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very good and cooperative, and all the professors are Ph.D. holders and are very helpful. There are two MSTs of 15 marks each and 50 marks for semester exams. There are also lab exams. Exams are very easy, and the teachers always complete the syllabus on time.

I am satisfied because of faculty members.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students got placed. The minimum salary offered is Rs. 20,000 to 40,000 per month. Larsen and Turbo is the top recruiting company of our college. They offer good salary packages along with a stipend. Many jobs, including superintendent engineer, assistant engineer, highways department and professors in the intended universities are also offered to the students of our college. In our course, the average salary offered is about Rs. 30,000 per month and others will also get a high salary based on their performance. About 5 students got an internship from our college in the previous year, and they are well placed and getting a good salary package.
Infrastructure: Our college has a good infrastructure. There are good lab facilities and first-aid also. There is a health care department and also many departments for our requirement. Our college has a Wi-Fi connection, and the classrooms are very neat. The library is also world-class.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good at teaching, and they are carrying and friendly. They clear anything as much as possible. They teach in a practical manner, which is very helpful for students to understand the subject. The course curriculum is relevant, and our college and staff members make students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like to construct. The college should improve innovative constructions ideas. All events and fests are conducted there.

Dissatisfied because of the faculty and the placements but amazing infrastructure and colllege life.
Placements: Placement for IT streams is above average. 70-80% of the students are placed. Placements for civil and mechanical in core companies are poor, though these streams get an equal chance of being placed in IT companies. Companies like Infosys, Mahindra, Talwars, Swaraj are regular recruiters. Very few startups visit campus for placements. The average salary is 3 lakhs. Just 1 or 2 companies visit the campus for internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great. The university has an almost 400 acres lush green campus. There are almost all sports. The mess food is of good quality and is very cheap. Hostels are newly constructed and good. A very big library located in the centre of the campus. The college has a dispensary, market, and a velodrome. The labs and classrooms are good.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are very educated and motivating. On the whole, the faculty is not that good. The course curriculum is not that interesting. There are workshops and events organised by the students themselves. Students should try to indulge in these activities and build their profile. Lecture-based teaching is done. No industry exposure. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1. The curriculum was not of much use. Just a normal graduation degree.
Other: There is Punjabi culture. Rural crowd. Almost 75% students are from Punjab mostly from Mansa, Bhatinda, and Sangrur. The language adopted is mostly Punjabi. Admission can be taken in this college with a goal and work on that goal in your college life. Less industry exposure. Great sports opportunity.

Dissatisfied because of faculty all otherwise its good in every aspect...
Placements: In this University the placement is not so good as we can say that average only computer and ECE streams have good placements and civil students have very few percentage of placements and for civil trade please don't opt this college because of poor knowledge of teachers of civil are there, it is requested to my friends please don't take admission in this college if you have good knowledge and want to explore your self.. If you took admission in this college you only learn how to cram but not gain knowledge in this college the practical knowledge is very less as there are machines in labs which are not working and some are incorrect thank.
Infrastructure: All classrooms are cleaned and well ventilated ....very nice benches are fixed for siting..there is a dice in every room.....good light conditions and 4 - 5 fans are there in one room... newly constructed building and have a reading room which is for 24 hours open for study....have good stationery and cafeteria....there is also the facility of lift and well cleaned washrooms...also there is 2 R.o water systems at each floor.
Faculty: Faculty is normal as not very well only a few teaches r god and had teach with responsibility and a civil trade teache " Mr. Saluja sir" who only dictate us in class room from book and gives a lot of written work from book , he only gives marks if we written the same as he dictated the same wording other wise no marks except him other all are good.
Other: I only want to share that here in Coed there is no quality of education only there is cramming process and students are under pressure that they can't express their views in front of teacher as the teacher can't provide space for students views or problems Thanks.
