Great college to pursue B.Tech, provides great opportunities. On campus placement is average.
Placements: Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology is the engineering college of Aligarh Muslim University. It is one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India, having an NIRF rank of 35. Although academics, lab facilities, machineries, infrastructure is one of the best in India. But placements are not quite satisfying. About 20-30% of students are placed in on-campus placement. The highest package was 27 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA while the average package was 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Laursen & Tourbo, Engineers India Limited, Adobe, etc. Internship opportunity is average, many students got an internship in Mitacs Globalink in Canadian Universities. And many got internships in PWD. Around 40-50% students got internship last year. Top roles offered in Civil Engineering include quantity surveyor, site engineer and software worker.
Infrastructure: Facilities and Infrastructure of Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University is top notch. You get variety of machinary, fully equipped labs, excellent professors. Free wi-fi is available to all bonafide students in college as well as in hostel. Classrooms are fully air conditioned and teacher to student interaction is quite good as the number of students in the classroom is less. You get 3 libraries to study in, one is the central library which is very close to the engineering hostel, Maulana Azad Central Library is the biggest university library in Asia. Second, you get a college library, and third library is in your hostel itself. All libraries are fully air-conditioned. Facilities in the hostel are amazing, you get a common room where you have television, and many indoor games like Billiards, snooker, table tennis, badminton, carrom, chess etc. Also, there are many grounds in the hostel where you can play volleyball, cricket, football and basketball. Medical facilities are awesome, you get a Health centre near your hostel which is 24*7 days opened. Also you get free ambulance service to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital and free checkups. Mess food is average.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, many teachers are from top IITs, they're well knowledgeable and helpful. Course curriculum is well updated and practical. It makes you ready for the industrial and technical world. Semester exams are moderate, you get 100 marks per subject. For theory subjects, 40 marks are internal marks which include 15 marks assignments and 25 marks mid sem exams. And rest 60 marks of external assessment which include end sem exam. For practical subjects, 60 marks are internal and 40 of external where external examiner takes your lab and viva.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering from Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University because this course from this college is very much reputed, a lot of competition is there for admission in this course from this college. This course provides solid knowledge of civil Engineering qnd its wide applications and practical knowledge. Teachers are good, facilities are great, infrastructure is the best. That's what makes this course very demanding and promising. One thing to improve in my course would be to add studies of the latest instruments like GPS and total station. Events in this college are organised in Kennedy Auditorium or in CEC lawn. Crowd is massive, fests are mind blowing, connectivity is fabulous as you find a lot of alumni from foreign. Scholarship are given to deserving students. Lots of extracurricular activities are provided here, such as acting, singing, dancing, skating, skate hockey, astroturf hockey, grass hockey, football, cricket, swimming, etc. Campus life is amazing, full of fun and learning.

Review of Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, AMU.
Placements: Placements, especially in civil engineering, are not quite good. Almost 25% of students got placed. The average salary package offered was 3.5 LPA and the highest salary package offered was 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters were L&T, Dharma Construction, Ultratech and Air Liquid. Many students got opportunity to work in NHAI for internships. Overall, this is a good college.
Infrastructure: Facilities are top-class in our college. Every department has its library and there is a central library which is the top library in India. Every hostel has its reading room. You will get free Wi-Fi access throughout the campus. The food quality is not satisfactory but the charge is too low at just Rs.1400 per month. The hostel charge is RS.2000 per year. There are various clubs like ASCE, robot clubs, and solar clubs. Apart from these, you will get better quality sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified and experienced. Passing a semester is quite difficult but if you focus a little bit on your subjects, it is definitely not so difficult. Nearly 90-95% of students passed the semester exam.
Other: The college organises numerous events and fests like Zarf which is the main event of the college. If you are from a poor family and good in your studies then you will get a lot of scholarships from alumni. It is a good college with good faculty members and infrastructure but a little bit of improvement is needed in placements.

Sorry, there isn't any lateral entry for B.Tech in AMU but Diploma students can do B.E(evening) course from AMU, which is same as B.Tech but has only 3 branches i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, & Civil.

Not a single institute of engineering is giving 100% surety for placements. Not even IITs are giving surety for 100% placements. Placement is up to your skills and excellence.
