The application form for UCEED 2025 is open till October 31 (regular fees) and November 8 (late fees). UCEED 2025 exam will be conducted on January 19, 2025. 

The admission process for UCEED 2025 is currently underway. The UCEED 2025 application form is open from October 1-31, 2024. With late fees, UCEED 2025 applications will be accepted till November 8, 2024.

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025.

Part A of the exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, whereas Part B will be held offline.

UCEED 2024 scores will be used to shortlist candidates for admission to the four-year Bachelor of Design (BDes) program offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

Important Dates for UCEED 2025

The important events and corresponding dates for the UCEED 2025 exam are given in the table below. 

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria I need to meet to apply for UCEED 2025?

A:

To apply for UCEED 2025, candidate must the following THREE criteria:

Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Criterion 2 – Number of attempts: The candidate is allowed to attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years.

Note that the UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.

Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or
equivalent) in 2024 or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2025. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2025.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for UCEED 2025?

A:

To appear in the UCEED 2025 exam, the candidate needs to meet the following criteria:

  • Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000. In the case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of 5 years.

  • Number of attempts - A candidate is allowed to appear in UCEED exam for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.

  • Academic requirements - The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam in 2024 or 2025. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Q:   Who can participate in UCEED counseling?

A:

The counseling process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.

To participate in UCEED 2024 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.

This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.

Note that the seat allotment for the B.Des program is done in five rounds.

  1. Register online - The candidate has to register for the exam by entering details like name, email ID, and mobile number
  2. Fill in the form - Next, fill in personal, academic, and personal details. 
  3. Select test center - The candidate must select THREE test centers in the order of priority. The name and address of the exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the UCEED 2025 admit card.
  4. Upload documents - In the penultimate step, upload documents as per the format.
  5. Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee to complete the process.

Documents required for UCEED registration 2025

The candidate will need the following documents to register for UCEED 2025:

  • A recent color photograph of full frontal (face) view, with the head centred in the frame covering 70–80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s full signature on white paper (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
  • Qualifying examination certificate, if appeared in 2022 (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
  • For those candidates who will be appearing in 2025 for the exam, a certificate from the school/college principal in the given format (Appendix 1) should be uploaded (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted). (Note: Appendixes are given in the UCEED 2025 Brochure)
  • If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, gazette notification showing the change of name is required (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).

Candidates seeking admission under the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD category

  • OBC-NCL (Appendix 2), Caste (for SC), Tribe (for ST) (Appendix 3), EWS (Appendix 4) or PwD certificate (Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate or copy of UDID card or Forms in Appendices 5 – 7) issued by a competent authority (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted). 
  • Dyslexic candidates need to submit FORM-DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 (Appendices 8 and 9) instead of a PwD certificate. The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ under Dyslexia category to enable the candidate to get the benefit of PwD category.  

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

The detailed eligibility criteria for the UCEED 2025 exam are given below.

Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the Open, EWS, or OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category. 

Q:   Do I need to qualify Part A to be included in the UCEED 2025 merit list?

A:

Note that the Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A will be shortlisted and allocated a merit rank. 

This means if the candidates fails to qualify Part A of UCEED 2025, they will not be issued any merit ranks. The scorecards of such candidates will merely includes Part A scores. In contrast, the screcards of shortlisted will include a merit rank, total and sectional scores. Further, all shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in UCEED 2025 and seat allotment.

Q:   Do I need to apply separately to UCEED 2024 participating institute?

A:
Candidates who have qualified UCEED 2024 do not have to apply separately to each participating college. Instead, IIT Bombay will conduct a joint counseling for the participating institutes. The online registration for counseling will open sometime in March 2024. Candidates who have been allocated a merit rank in UCEED 2024 are eligible to participate in the counseling-cum-seat allotment. As part of the registration process, the candidate needs to enter their choices of colleges in the order of priority.

Q:   What is the minimum eligibility criteria to participate in UCEED 2025 counseling?

A:

To participate in UCEED 2025 counseling, the candidate has to meet the following conditions:

  • Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000

  • UCEED 2025 qualification - The candidate must have qualifed in the UCEED 2025 exam.

  • Qualifying exam - The candidate must have passed all five subjects in 10+ 2 or an equivalent exam in 2024 or 2025. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Q:   Will I be assigned a UCEED 2025 common merit rank (AIR) if I do not get shortlisted?

A:

It is mandatory for candidates to get shortlisted to be included in the merit rank. Note that only such candidates who qualify Part A will get shortlisted.

IIT Bombay will release the cut-off marks for Part A around the 2nd week of February 2025. All candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will get shortlisted.

Further, only shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the UCEED 2025 couneling process.

Q:   Which academic stream should I have studied in Class 12 to be eligible for UCEED 2025 exam?

A:

Candidates from any academic stream (Science, Commerce or Humanities) are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibiity criteria before they apply. It is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2025 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eliigibity stands to be disqualified if caught.

Number of attempts - A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same academic year. 

Qualifying examination - A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 OR 2025 to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2025. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2025.

UCEED 2025 Exam Cities

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam in 27 cities across India. The candidate can select their choice of exam city when filling out the form.

It is mandatory to select THREE cities in the order of priority. The list of UCEED 2025 exam center is given in the table below.

UCEED Answer Key 2025

IIT Bombay will release the draft answer key of UCEED 2025 on January 21, 2025. The candidate’s response for Part A will also be released with the answer key.

The candidate can download the draft key in downloadable pdf format.

Challenges against the draft key will be accepted from January 21-23, 2025. The final answer key of UCEED 2025 will be released on January 29, 2025.

UCEED Result 2025

IIT Bombay will declare the results of the UCEED 2025 exam on March 7, 2025. The results will be declared online at the IIT Bombay admission portal.

The candidate can check their results using their login ID and password.

The UCEED 2025 scorecard will be available from March 10 - June 11, 2025. The scorecard will carry the merit rank, score, and qualifying status of the candidate.

UCEED Counseling 2025 

IIT Bombay will conduct the counseling process for UCEED 2025. A centralized counseling, called the Joint Admission Process, will be held.

Candidates who have qualified in the UCEED 2025 exam can participate.

The UCEED 2025 counseling registration will be held from March 14-31, 2025.

The allotment of seats will be done in five rounds. Seat allotment will be based on merit rank and college option selected by the candidate during counseling registration.
